during cocktail hour as well. The only hiccup we experienced was during our first look. EE was setting up for the ceremony and there was a large storage container near where the groom was standing. Our photographer kindly asked one of the musicians to move their container so it wouldn’t be in our pictures and they replied in a not so friendly tone “I will in a minute”. My husband (the groom) had to speak up and tell the musician that we were trying to do our first look and can they please move the container (Which then they happily did once they realized he was the groom). Working well with other vendors helps keep the stress off the bride and groom! Other than that everything went smooth as butter! :)

new I was gonna walk down to Yellow by Coldplay and end it with A Sky Full of Stars. The church only had a pianist for us and I knew having a violinist will make everything more elegant and emotional, so I just have to hire one and I am so glad I found April. She was so approachable and she made sure to be in synced with our church pianist. She even played couple of songs before the ceremony started and everyone kept saying how beautiful our church ceremony was. April, you were amazing! The only complaint I had was with regards to paying the musicians through Elegant Ensembles (had to give my credit card number by fax or over the phone, which I don't like doing), and for whatever reason, we weren't allowed to tip our musicians directly, it had to go through the company...otherwise though, they were great!

Also, although we wanted to use a few traditional songs that were on their list we also wanted to use piano versions of some more current songs. April went out and found the sheet music so our pianist would be able to play exactly what we wanted. The day of our wedding our pianist (Robyn) was right on time and had all of the information she needed. She coordinated with the contact at our venue and our officiant to make sure she had all the correct cues without us having to be involved. Working with elegant ensembles was simple and seamless!

After due diligence and a half-hour chat with April, I was confident that I was making a good choice, but Elegant Ensembles (string trio--two violins and cello) exceeded my expectations. Working with April, the booking and arrangements went very smoothly and professionally. We choose some pop and classical selections from the group's repertoire, and added some special requests--including a 1920s' pop waltz, "Peggy O'Neil," that had been performed at the bride's great-grandparents' wedding. Of course, we had some anxious moments the day of the event, but I had little anxiety about Elegant Ensembles, and indeed the music at the reception could not have been better. April's mix of our selections with her own choices proved ideal, as did the trio's charming presentation and appropriate volume level. Several professional musicians (among others) at the reception commented on the quality of the music, and my sister, not knowing the trio's name, mentioned how "elegant" they were. Our church's organist (a good friend who occasionally moonlights as a jazz pianist) perked up his ears when he heard April's lovely arrangement of "Peggy O'Neil," wondering aloud what that tune could be, which he guessed was from the 1910s or 1920s. As we'd requested, Elegant Ensembles played "Peggy O'Neil" during the cake cutting, and my wife teared up as she excitedly informed her siblings and cousins about the family history with the song. A very memorable moment in a very special day. I heartily recommend Elegant Ensembles--five stars all the way. -CD
