Sylvia was late for the first appointment and forgot about the 2nd appointment. She had to be called and she said the day slipped away from her. She had completely forgotten about the 2nd meeting as our planner and decorator. 2. As the bride, I called and booked the majority of my vendors. When I had questions for the vendors Mrs.Sylvia would tell me to call them and confirm information instead of her doing it as my planner. For example, I asked her to call the caterer and confirm whether we had to bring the cups and napkins or if he was providing the cups and napkins. She told me I needed to call him myself. When I called, he told me the wedding planner should have that information. 3. Multiple times she asked me what my wedding colors were, if I was having a sand or candle ceremony ( I told her candle and she still wrote down sand), and if I already had a wedding dress. I told her every single meeting that I already had a wedding dress and she continued to ask because she was not taking proper notes. She would write something down and lose it. 4. Mrs. Sylvia told me she would reach out to a hotel agent to inquire about room blocks. She forgot. When I reminded her, she finally called and gave the hotel agent the wrong location. We received hotel information for Columbia, SC and our wedding was in Augusta, Ga. Mrs.Sylvia told us that she would fix it but she never did so I booked hotel room blocks on my own. Finally about a month before the wedding, Mrs.Sylvia calls and asks me if I have a hotel because she needs a room. WOW 5. When we would have meetings Mrs.Sylvia would say "you're pretty much done with everything" and I would have to remind her "No ma'am I still need a cake." "No ma'am I still need a videographer" and she would say " Oh, you do?" or "Oh yeah, that's right." 6. At one point, I was going to get married in Santee, SC and I asked her to call the venue's coordinator to confirm a few things. Mrs.Sylvia would tell me she would call them the next day. Then I wouldn't hear from her confirming anything. When I called the coordinator myself, She told me she hadn't heard from Mrs.Sylvia. 7. In the beginning, I did not have a wedding venue. Mrs.Sylvia said she would help me find a venue. I would tell her venues that I had already looked into that either weren't available, out of budget, or not my style. When she would send me venues she'd send all the one's I already told her would not work. Once again, this showed she was not paying attention nor taking detailed notes. She just kept random pieces of paper in a folder rather than having a detailed, organized binder. 8. When my husband and I came to her venue for a meeting, her team called my husband and I by the wrong name twice. I have more to write but the knot won't allow it .We chose Mrs.Sylvia because she said she was professional, on time, and that she did not want her bride stressing. After being her client, I now know that was far from the truth. Her lack of care, professionalism ,attention to detail, communication and organization made this a horrible experience for me and my husband. If a refund was an option, I would have asked for one a long time ago and hired another planner and decorator.
