The never-ending wedding dress alterations search ended with Elegant Tailoring. I had a wonderful experience with Linh and her expertise ensuring that my wedding dress was ready fo...
r the big day. Linh provided great words of advice and talked me through the entire alterations process to ensure the dress fit me well and looked great! She advised which bustle would be best for my train and made sure I knew how to bustle my dress.
Very happy with how my dress turned out. Expect ~8 weeks for alterations to have enough time if additional fittings are needed.
Alterations I needed: raise shoulders, hem, bustle on a Justin Alexander Mikado Ball Gown.
I plan to go back and upload pictures, but our wedding isn't until next month and I've been serious about not showing my dress to anyone! BUT I really couldn't wait to give Linh a ...
review, especially after everything she has done for me and everything I have put her through!
I purchased my wedding dress from Facebook Marketplace February 2021. The dress is huge and had many issues with it, including tulle / lace that had a big hole in the front, no bustle, sleeves that wouldn't let me extend my arms even 90-degrees, a really tight neckline, coney built-in breast cups, very dirty train because the previous bride had a rainy wedding day, and hot glued lace coverup on some of the dress. On top of all of that, I am a little thicker than the previous bride, so the modesty panel in the back didn't even cover my whole back! And even more on top of ALL of that, I found some lace to make a veil... well, for Linh to! It was a mess, but I was determined to make it work.... and so was Linh.
I took the dress to her in August / September 2021 (my first photos are from September, but I can't remember if I just didn't take pictures in August). She said it'll take time, so the next time I returned was in December. Wow, when I came back, it was like a whole new dress and the veil was done and perfect! I lost a little bit of weight, but not that much, but Linh made it a little wider without making me look wider. I couldn't even tell where all of the damages were on the dress! She was so sneaky in a way that made it look so natural! I continued to visit Linh on a monthly basis after that as she continued to fix bits and pieces of the dress, and get it cleaned and steamed, as well. Each time just got better and better and I definitely felt guiltier and guiltier, but I am just "one of those" anal, obsessive on the tiny detail brides.
Linh always remained patient and kind. She gave this dress her all and I am just so happy with it. I've been telling people it's "our" dress because all of her effort and devotion. It meant so much to me and I hope she knows how brilliant of an artist she is!
Linh was so wonderful to work with. I bought my dress in San Diego (before we moved to SJ) and I was so worried that I wouldn't find someone top notch enough for my dress. It has a...
tiered lace train and needed to be taken up about 4 inches. After lots of searching I found this place. As soon as Linh saw my dress, she knew who the designer was, which made all the difference for me - she really knew her gowns! My alterations turned out wonderful and my dress fit like a glove!
I bought my wedding dress and was looking for a place to tailor the bottom of it since it was a bit long. I did some research and went inside to see Linh. On the phone she seemed n...
ice. When I went inside, she had me wait for over 20 minutes as she double booked our meeting time. Not only that but when I told her that I was still in the consideration phase, she told me that I wasted her time. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
I had bought my dress somewhere else but needed alterations done still. My friend recommended Elegant tailoring & thank god she did!! Lihn is so amazing and did such a great job on...
my dress! She even help cut some layers out from the inside because it was just too heavy to wear and carry around all day! I looked so beautiful at my wedding and it's all thanks to her!!! If I had known about elegant tailoring in the beginning I definitely would have bought my dress from her!
I have been coming here for years to have my clothes tailored, so when I needed my wedding dress hemmed and let out at the bust, I knew I couldn't go anywhere else. She did amazing...
work and even put in the stuff to bustle my dress, color coordinated of course, so my bridesmaids could figure it out easily. She also tailored my mom's dress which had to be taken in a lot. She hemmed 2 of my bridesmaids dresses as well. I have never been disappointed with her work. We also used her to rent suits for the groomsmen. It was nice to have all of that done in one place!
I bought my wedding dress at Elegant Tailoring & Bridal. It's a small family business. Linh was very helpful picking out a dress that was within my budget and was actually avai...
lable at her store. It saved a lot of time and headaches...My dress was a simple ivory satin/chiffon A-line, ruched, with little embellishment on the chest area and embroidery on the bottom...beautiful dress! It even had the corset back which I love! Linh's prices are reasonable and she is very professional, kind and helpful. She is not pushy and very easy to do business with. I highly recommend her services to anyone! I will be back to her for some future tailoring needs for sure!
I first went to two other bridal gown shops & found my dream dress there but had a hard time committing to a big purchase like that so I went online searching for my dress and ...
came across Elegant Tailoring as an authorized dealer. It is a tiny tailor shop in Milpitas (definitely not like the other bridal gown shops). The owner Linh is very nice. I e-mailed and spoke with her on the phone before visiting her & confirmed she had my dress I wanted and was able to negotiate a better deal with her than the other shops. The custom length was included and I paid only $50 to do custom measurements...when I got my dress (which came weeks earlier than I expected) it fit perfectly & the only alterations I needed to pay for were a bustle & a tiny trim on the length since I was wearing a lower heel. Linh is a very sweet lady and she will not try to rip you off or be sneaky like some of the other bridal gown shops might. My only complaint was that I was supposed to pick up my dress 2 days before my wedding (after getting the bustle done & having it steamed for free) and when I called on my way over she completely forgot and it wasn't ready. It would have been ready in a half hour but I was running all over the place doing last minute wedding stuff so I ended up picking it up the next morning. Other than that minor hiccup, I had a great experience & would highly recommend this as a place to buy your wedding gown!
I had search for a few months online for the perfect dress for my wedding day and I found it at a bridal store, but did not want to get the alterations done there. So a few months ...
before my wedding, my now husband said to check out yelps to help me find a place to get my dress altered so I did.
Yelps found me Elegant Tailoring. Linh was amazing. She was so wonderful and nice on the phone. I told her I would need my wedding dress hemmed and a bustle for my train. She ensured me that she could do it and everything would be fine and done in plenty of time, that she knows how important the wedding dress is to a bride and how she loves to help make the dress your own. My dress was strapless and I had thought about adding off the shoulder sleeves to it. So at my 1st fitting I brought some pictures of what I wanted. She said she could do it and I was so happy. A few weeks later I had my dream wedding dress, when I put it on I know it sounds silly but I really felt like a princess I couldn't help but hug Linh and thank her for all her hard work.
My wedding day was wonderful and I felt beautiful in my wedding dress.
A few weeks later I bought my dress back to Linh to get it to get cleaned and the preservation. My bother is getting married next year and my soon to be sister in law asked for the number to where I had done my alterations. If any bride needs to get any alterations done to her dress you should go check out Elegant Tailoring and talk to Linh.
