And, everyone commented on how skillfully and efficiently the team got us through the family portraits at the church, making it fun, and not an assembly line of smiles. Having Elevate Photography as a part of our wedding day made it extra special. We’re already dreaming of future days where we hope to have occasions where they can help us capture more memories.

ntly, we had the highest standards when selecting a photography team to entrust to both the day itself and the pictorial memories we would cherish every day thereafter. Ryan Erickson and Elevate Photography exceeded those standards. It was clear that they would from the moment we first walked into the Elevate office viewing room, surrounded by beautiful, crisp images and welcomed with warm cookies and beer. These touches were not superfluous, but rather they foreshadowed the extra thought and attention to detail that would be shown by Ryan and his team throughout our engagement and wedding. Ryan literally went the extra mile by traveling from Denver to Vail to shoot our engagement photos down by Gore Creek and on top of Vail Mountain. It was during this shoot that we first appreciated how much more goes into capturing the perfect shot than the framing and technique of the photographer (which it was already clear Ryan had in spades). As we skipped over rocks in the creek and clambered over crests to get the perfect mountain vista, Ryan’s gift for naturally disarming us with a well-timed anecdote or an informative new restaurant recommendation came to the fore, allowing us to feel comfortable while he captured candid moments of laughter and happiness. That skill is matched by his eye for the perfect shot, whether it be a forehead kiss in a sun-dappled, autumn-colored aspen grove he found or a sparkly engagement ring contrasted against a verdant, mossy log he identified. The results were breathtaking. So when it came time for the wedding day itself, we already knew we had an implicit mutual understanding with our photographer. Ryan and the Elevate team picked up on the aesthetic and vibe we were going for instantly and, true to their name, elevated it over and over again. Shot by Ryan, our first look at The Ramble Hotel was captured as if we were on Mad Men at the sleek bar with soft leathers and twinkling chandeliers, but if Mad Men were bursting with color and light. On Ryan’s camera, the relatively shy and mild-mannered groomsmen looked frankly badass in a back alley shoot that evoked the iconic Reservoir Dogs credit scene, while the bridesmaids garden portraits at Blanc stunned. He managed to get each photo we needed with every family and friend permutation before the ceremony, which allowed us to be present for the day thereafter, from the ceremony through the cocktail hour and reception without needing to pose for more photos. And even more important than making us look better than we do, Ryan and his team captured every heartfelt moment and split-second reaction the whole night long. Elevate Photography’s pictures are our most cherished possessions from the best day of our lives, and, for that, we cannot thank them or recommend them enough.

One of the most important things for us in looking for a photographer is trust. Ryan instilled trust immediately -- he has SO much experience. He helped us plan the schedule during the day to ensure the best lighting for photos and also to make sure that family photos went smoothly to keep the day going on time. He walked us through contingency plans in case something were to go wrong. Short story: backups upon backups. Ryan went above and beyond. We live in NYC, but had our wedding in Colorado. For our engagement shoot, Ryan flew to NYC where he spent an entire day (and more) walking through humid, summer heat to help us get the best photos possible. Most importantly, Ryan is so freaking talented. Just look at his portfolio. My husband and I are not photogenic to say the least. Ryan was able to capture us at our best. He has an incredible eye for beauty and art direction. Some of our favorite photos are ones where Ryan thought something would be interesting and to try something different. Posing in front of a hot dog cart, or by a moving subway car. During our reception, Ryan put together a slideshow of photos he had just taken a few hours ago to show everyone. I bawled. I truly believe wedding photos need to be beyond beauty -- they serve to help you remember how you, your partner and your guests felt that day. It was absolutely perfect. I couldn't have imagined better. We love Ryan and Elevate Photography. You won't regret it either.

We ended up booking with them and got connected with Katie. Katie was a doll to work with! She was sweet, personable, professional, and flexible. My mom and I made a last minute trip to Colorado to visit vendors, and Katie was more than willing to work around our schedule just so we could meet her in person before the wedding. We ended up with the dream team the day of our wedding- Katie, Janae, and Hannah. They were all so amazing and wonderful to work with! Katie was a serious pro at orchestrating family photos and moved us along more efficiently than any of our bridal party had experienced in any other wedding. The three girls were able to get wonderful photos despite having to fight against 40+ mile an hour winds and hair flying every which way. We are so grateful for all of Katie's help leading up to the wedding- her recommendations and advice on everything from photography to hairstyles and venues to Djs were so valuable. She felt like a true friend after spending just one day with her, that's how comfortable we felt working with her. My only regret is that when we have kids, we won't be able to call Katie up for our infant photo shoot! I'll just have to work on convincing my husband that a trip to Colorado for family photos with Katie at some point are a must!

went searching for our photographer before anything else. We LOVED meeting with Ryan and knew he was a super chill guy who also knew his stuff when it came to capturing the magic of wedding days! Because we have a photographer in the family, we didn't use Elevate for engagement photos, but we instead added an extra hour on to our wedding day package. We were able to originally meet Ryan in person, but then moved out of state. Ryan was great to talk through via email and via phone/video chat (when our technology wasn't freaking out on us!) to get the timeline set for our wedding day. The day of the wedding, Ryan and his team were WONDERFUL! They made it SO easy to pose/get great shots, while also letting us do our thing and interact without feeling like we were being watched by strangers. That resulted in some wonderful candid shots - my favorite! Did I mention we had four crazy kiddos in our bridal party, too? Ryan and team did such a wonderful job entertaining them and making sure we got great shots of the ring bearer and flower girls, too. THE BEST PART? Getting to instantly see so many of your photos DURING your wedding reception and sharing the special moments of your day with guests who didn't get to see the getting-ready and bridal party shots. Oh my word...I had the biggest smile on my face getting to see our reception slideshow. We've since received all of our photos and I loved all 850+ of them! To say narrowing down the selection for printing and album purposes was a difficult task is an understatement! If I were to do it all over again, I'd hire Ryan and the Elevate team again in a heartbeat. Could you find cheaper photography? Yes. Do I wish we could have saved some money from our wedding budget by opting for a cheaper alternative? Well...yeah, but I am so thrilled with how everything turned out and how magical the day was that it was worth the expense. I love having such beautiful memories of our day. The only thing I'd do differently is NOT opt for their photo album. It's very expensive and they limit you to a small selection of photos (which was agonizing to narrow down! I had hundreds I wanted included). Ultimately, I'm excited to get our professional album as I know it will be beautiful and well-crafted. It will be a keepsake for all of our lives, but I also made my own album through Shutterfly to include all of the picture we wanted for 1/10th of the cost. Thanks Ryan and the Elevate team! =)

My guests LOVED it and thought it was the greatest thing since slice bread! Our wedding party commented on how great Ryan was to work with and how beautiful his photos were. Ryan really got to know my husband and I and provided great customer service. We even plan on using Ryan for future family photos (or at family photos - he gets the joke). They are a little more on the pricey side, but completely worth it. The photos were what we were willing to spend the most budget on. You receive rights to your photos and there are several packages to choose from. I highly, highly, highly recommend Elevate for all professional photo needs!

All of my guests couldn't stop commenting on how fabulous our photographer was and I've had several people ask me already who did our wedding photos. I will recommend Elevate to anyone and everyone. It is money well spent going with Elevate, and you get SO much out of your package- the day of slideshow was one of my favorite perks. Skype - we knew he was incredible, talented, and had a love for photography. He spent time to get to know us as a couple and learn what was important to us so he could capture those moments and tell our story. Ryan had incredible talent while shooting which made his pictures stand out among others. He had a special attention to detail which brought to life the moments experienced during our wedding - laughing, crying, hugging, dancing, etc. Once the wedding was over - Ryan continued to engage us and invite us back to the studio for a primer party which allowed us to soak in all the pictures captured on our special day. This made the entire process so personal and unforgettable. documented perfectly. We were fortunate that McCory was willing to travel to Rhode Island to be our photographer. He was very accommodating, meeting with us through Skype and face time to review needed details. He spent the day before the wedding scoping out the area around our church and reception venue to find the perfect backdrops for pictures. Our entire wedding party thoroughly enjoyed working with him the day of the wedding; his fun personality and ideas for pictures were perfect. Turn around on viewing our pictures was very fast. We received a sneak peak of photos on a blog a few days after the wedding, and just one month after the wedding had all of our wedding photos available to view and order. Reviewing the photos truly was like reliving the day as all our most precious moments and people’s personalities were captured so accurately. We met with McCory for a final Skype meeting to review all the options of albums and ordering prints. From a studio standpoint, although we were not able to see the studio itself we are impressed with the selection of choices for orders. We are so honored that Elevate photography was a part of our day, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer.
