We used Mick with the Elite British DJ for our recent holiday party. From the initial communication through the follow up after the event, Mick was perfect! He responds promptly to all messages and helped provide lots of guidance . We can’t wait to use him again!

Mick was a great DJ for our wedding. He helped provide sound equipment for our wedding ceremony and kept the party going throughout the reception. He was very helpful in the process of picking music for our different reception events (wedding party entrance, cake cutting, dinner music, dancing etc), lighting, and timing of songs. He was a joy to work with and a great MC.

Mick is the best wedding DJ, hands down! He has really good and really fun ideas that we implemented. He is so professional and was the best host for our wedding. He knows how to read a crowd and everyone loved his music. So happy we had him for our wedding!

We chose Mick to be the DJ for our 50th wedding anniversary party, and he was phenomenal! We had tried to book him for my daughter's wedding 10 years ago but he wasn't available. When we decided to have a big party including a renewal of vows and a whole reception with dinner and dancing, he was initially not going to be available, but was willing to rearrange his schedule to make himself available for our party...and I will be forever indebted to him for that. He was incredible throughout the whole process. He is so funny, so easy going, and yet so professional and very knowledgeable about his business. He does not leave anything to chance. He provided all of the lighting and sound for our vow renewal ceremony as well as the MC for our reception. Everyone was commenting on what a terrific DJ we had...they all wanted his contact information so that they could get him for their events as well. I have been to parties where not everyone is liking the music or dancing, but you can be sure this will never be the case with Mick. He got every single person out on the dance floor! Even the elderly people there were laughing and dancing and having a terrific time. Mick you are such an amazing person and we are so grateful for all that you did for us.

Mick is awesome! He is the best DJ we have ever had for any event, hands down. He was so professional in his dealings, from the initial phone calls and meetings we had with him, to his very good suggestions and advice regarding music, lighting, and every detail in between. He is the funniest, kindest, warm, & most professional DJ you will ever work with. Mick is amazing at what he does!! He tailors the experience to your needs and adds such a fun/personable atmosphere. My husband and I were looking to get creative in some areas of our wedding. For example, we really did not want to do a money dance or the garter removal/toss, and Mick was able to provide us with really creative alternatives that kept the atmosphere fun and exciting. So many people have complimented us on the music and just overall how much fun they had at our wedding, and we have Mick to thank for that. Thank you Mick!!

We are so happy we went with Mick for our Dj. A lot of people complimented us on the music and Dj we kept hearing about how much fun everyone was having . He’s the best dj we’ve ever seen at a wedding and we are so lucky to have found him. Mick has been doing this a long time and he really knows what he’s doing! Mick ensured that the ceremony, dinner, and dancing music was in line with our taste. He always asked for our ideas, preferences, and thoughts but had a knack for knowing when we could use his expertise. Mick really brought the house down. He knows how to keep a party going. Mick Scrivener was THE BEST DJ ever! I had the pleasure of meeting Mick when he DJ’d for my sister’s wedding! Mick is fantastic! So many people asked for the playlist after the wedding! He was using brand new lights and speakers for our wedding and was positively giddy showing them off. That's someone who loves what they do. He also made great recommendations for timing and was an amazing hype-man. He got the crowd amped up!

Mick was absolutely phenomenal from our first meeting until the end of the dancing! He was honest and on top of it. He provided a unique perspective and personality that we didn't experience with any other DJs we interviewed. His sense of humor matched ours perfectly... dry and sarcastic. We could also tell that he cared about our experience as well as the experience of our guests. Mick was the best! His wit and humor were the highlight of our reception and his little games made the night unique and memorable. Planning our wedding songs with Mick was very easy; his website to add songs was incredibly intuitive and you can customize specific moments like the entrances and processionals, or even add notes that indicated timing for him or any necessary edits in songs. The whole way through Mick was a total class act, giving advice on the feel of the music throughout the ceremony and reception and his years of experience as a wedding DJ and MC shone through in colors when it came to ensuring we had a fun and fitting feel for our guests at each step. Mick has a lot of tricks up his sleeve to ensure the guests are having a good time all night long with games, jokes, and routines that keep everyone entertained. DJ Mick knows how to get the crowd going and going! All of our guests commented on the special details Mick did for us that made our August 2021 wedding really fun and unique. He had TONS of fun ideas and suggestions to help us get the vibe we wanted. We won't tell you what they are - you'll have to find out for yourself! Mick is the most awesome brilliant DJ and man you could possibly work with! I first saw Mick’s videos a few years ago and knew right away I wanted to hire him one day. Not only is Mick hilarious but he works incredibly hard to make sure your day is everything you could ever want. Mick meet us at the club to go over what the ceremony music would look like as well as show us what our uplighting would look like. It was like he read our minds with music choice. We wanted cool chill but fun music and he played everything from The Beetles, to Thomas Rhett, to Neil Diamond and more. Mick also cracks jokes such as, I not from Australia and there will be no shrimp on the barbie tonight. He made all our dreams come true. I wouldn’t imagine using anyone but him!

Mick is awesome! He's got great taste in music, tons of experience to draw on, and a fun sense of humor. Working with him was super easy and enjoyable. We found Mick when we booked his wife as our wedding coordinator. If you book both of them you get a great deal on pricing. He was so great from start to finish. His process for setting up the playlists is stress free and easy. He also was so fun and enthusiastic throughout our event. Everyone loved him and tons of people were dancing throughout our whole event (even though we aren't big dancers ourselves). Having him so in tune with our wedding coordinator made the event run smoothly as well. We can't recommend Mick enough!

Mick was the DJ at our July 2021 wedding and he was absolutely incredible! We had no idea what we wanted to do at our reception, but Mick had so many suggestions and ideas and he helped us plan out a reception that was better than we could have ever imagined. He got our vibe about the type of music we wanted played with very little guidance from us and had everyone dancing the entire night. We got so many compliments from guests on how fun and incredible our DJ was, even several weeks after our wedding! Working with Mick was such a pleasure, we can’t recommend him enough!

We hired Mick as our wedding DJ and he did an amazing job! We had requested that he play several meaningful songs during the cocktail hour and dinner, and he did a great job of incorporating them while still keeping the energy high. Mick was the DJ for my sister’s wedding back in 2015. I knew that day if I were to ever get married in San Diego, he would have to be my DJ. I was fortunate to be able to book him for my 2021 wedding. I don’t know what you possibly couldn’t love about this man. He is an absolute joy to work with. If you want to include fun and humor into your wedding then he is your guy. Mick has so much experience in the wedding industry that he has a vast amount of knowledge and suggestions on what is going to give your guests a great experience. He brings a wonderful positive energy to your wedding. We took our group formals before guests arrived and we were all nervous, but Mick got us all to laugh and have fun by playing songs in the background. We all felt more at ease instantly. It’s little things like this that make it a joy to have him at your wedding. His great ideas and humor will allow you to laugh and enjoy your big day. I 10/10 would recommend choosing Mick as your DJ. His wife Julie was also our wedding planner and did a fantastic job. Having two of your wedding vendors married is a huge convenience and made the day run that more smoothly. They are truly the dynamic duo!

Look no more- Mick is your DJ if you want your guests to have a great night! We were expecting everyone to come and go from the dance floor but the dancing was nonstop! Even our guests who were not physically able to get out there loved the music and stayed engaged. Mick is great at reading the room and mixes it up from a cliche wedding format to get everyone excited and is not one of the DJ's who likes to hear himself talk more than play music. Planning with Mick was super easy- we had a few songs that we liked but let him take the reins on what he thought would be best. He made the wedding planning a little less daunting and got us excited again after postponing our wedding a year (which he helped make as easy as it could be!)

I have been to over a 50 weddings and performed at upwards of 30 and I’ve never had a DJ be rude! Mitch told me off (the maid of honor) in the middle of the reception for asking him to change a song after earlier commenting on him playing Sweet Caroling DURING DINNER! I did not say anything to him out of line, literally went and found him (because he WASN’T AT THE DJ BOOTH) and asked him if he could change it and save it for later, then 2 hours later asked if he could put the chacha slide on since we had a full dance floor for the first time in the night and wanted to keep the people moving. Yes I was absolutely micromanaging, but my job is a corporate cover band and when you’re on the clock you just stay nice to please the client and guests, that is not an opportunity to teach someone a lesson about respect. I can not believe that he didn’t bite his tongue. If you want a DJ who plays cliche 80s songs and turns on a playlist and walks away, Mitch is your guy but I would go elsewhere for event entertainment

Mick was really there for us during our crazy pandemic wedding plans! Things were so uncertain and changing constantly but we knew we could depend on Mick to be there for us while of course taking safety for everyone into consideration. Mick was so easy to work with and fun! Even though our October 2020 wedding turned into a small ceremony only with immediate family we were still able to have beautiful music to capture the moment including our first dance which was so special to us. Mick also provided great audio including a microphone so that our family and friends from across the United States could clearly hear our entire ceremony via our live stream! We could not have had such a beautiful wedding ceremony without him! He also put together some super fun mixes, you should hear them! My husband and I highly recommend Mick! Mitch was the best DJ imaginable for our wedding! Not only did he play great music throughout every aspect, he provided a lot of guidance leading up to the wedding and even acted as our day of coordinator, which helped our wedding run smoothly. You know those DJs that seem to be magic? They just seem able to get everyone to dance and have a good time? That's Mick. He just made the whole evening gel, using the music to create an incredible atmosphere that kept folks mingling and dancing all night. The pre-wedding experience was brilliant to; Mick provided an easy to use website to upload our favorite songs and even a list for songs not to play (which turned out to be longer than we expected (hello ex-break-up songs!?). He has so much energy and enthusiasm for what he does, we truly felt like he was committed and excited to be part of our celebration. Thank you Mick.

Our ceremony had top-notch professional sound and music, which was a big deal for us. And our reception was everything we dreamed for and more! 100% recommend without a doubt. He’s super easy to work with, communicates well and responded to all my questions quickly. He sends out a form where you basically choose all of what is played the entire night, and can choose exactly what you do not want played. He played my requests, announced my bridal party exactly as requested, and read the room and made changes accordingly to ensure people were having a good time. He’s also really funny and not at all corny. After the wedding he sent me a list of what was played and in order so I could print it as a keepsake. And he took photos throughout the night and sent a slide show the next day! I received so many compliments from my guests and would hire him again without hesitation. Choose this guy- I can guarantee you won’t regret it!

Mick was the ultimate professional from start to finish. We planned our wedding from the east coast and Mick made the long distance planning easy because he was responsive to all queries and questions. He understood that we were not big on a lot of formalities and that to have people up and dancing was a priority. Mick was the best DJ we could’ve chosen for our wedding! He is so easy to work with and has fantastic fresh ideas to make the ceremony and reception one to remember! He has a very user-friendly web-based tool to outline your ceremony and reception music and he has thousands of songs to pick from. We had a couple songs that weren’t in his database, but he was able to download them right away for us. I also wanted specific parts of a particular song for when I walked down the aisle, and he worked with me to piece that together and it sounded so perfect!! He has great mash-ups too that kept everybody on the dance floor all night long! We heard great things from our guests about how great the music was! Mick does a nice job of reading the room to make sure everybody is enjoying the music playing. Mick is such a nice guy and we LOVED working with him! He has been in the wedding industry for a while now and has great insight and ideas to make your wedding so memorable!

Mick is the best! He was the DJ for my cousin's wedding and I loved him so much that I had to have him do my wedding as well! He was so helpful throughout the process with great advice for not only song selections, but timing of events during the wedding as well. We had the best time at our wedding and the music was awesome, it made it such a fun time. Everyone danced the night away and Mick was great at choosing the right music based on the crowd and timing. Mick was amazing from the get go! First met with him months in advance before our wedding, and he helped us think about many things beyond just the music that we weren’t considering. Took time to understand what we were into and what kind of atmosphere we wanted to provide our guests. My family is from Tunisia, and Mick researched music from the region and took in Tunisian song request from my family. More than appreciative! The wedding was perfect, Mick provided an awesome atmosphere, he reads the crowd well, can tell when your request might of not worked out and is able to follow up with the perfect song to get everyone up again. Everyone was one was on the dance floor until the end. Cannot thank Mick enough for the great night!

Really enjoyed having Mick DJ at our wedding. In the lead up to the day communication was very prompt and even encouraged. His online tools were very useful for personal music preferences but when it came down to how not just the music but the evening as a whole would flow, Mick was excellent. He even met us at the venue days in advance so we got a good chance to talk through the outdoor setup of not only his equipment, but the food and lighting too. When the evening came, he did more than DJ, he made sure the evening went to the plan we had discussed previously, which was a great help. It was a pleasure to deal with Mick, he is extremely enthusiastic about his work and also very professional, which is a great combination.

MICK IS THE BEST. It is clear from the first meeting with him that he is an experienced professional who knows exactly what he is doing. He brings all of the fun without going too over the top. He was able to work with any and all requests we had, like cutting out bits of the Father Daughter Dance song, and he was absolutely amazing at keeping the energy up on the dance floor! He was incredibly kind and easy to work with, and was awesome at sharing some of his great ideas while still being totally on board with whatever direction we wanted to go. (He suggested a "cake money jar" that covered a couple of really fun excursions on our honeymoon- we definitely wouldn't have had those funds if it wasn't for Mick!) My husband and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Professional, kind, and fun. What more could you want from a DJ? :)

Mick was amazing!!!!! We initially booked a more affordable DJ, but as our plans for the ceremony got more complicated, we decided to go with Mick. I wanted to sing down the aisle and Mick helped me edit the karaoke mp3 to accommodate that. We wanted to run 4 different songs into one song for our first dance, and Mick came up with the PERFECT parts of the songs to capture the essence in the 3 minutes that we want the first dance to last. He helped us organize when things should happen. Mick made our day PERFECT!!!! Thank you so much Mick!

We used Mick as our DJ for our wedding, and we could not be happier with our selection! Mick was attentive, fun and creative, and was 100% professional. We planned our San Diego wedding from the east coast, and Mick was so helpful during the long-distance planning process. We spoke over the phone before we booked him for our wedding and he sent an easy-to-use online music form so that we could customize our playlist (including our must-plays, the music we wanted to play pre-ceremony, the song for cake-cutting, etc.). He had such a wide selection of music and was even able to find obscure songs for us, including a beautiful Celtic version of Cannon-in-D. We also purchased up-lighting through Mick and we were incredibly happy with how the up-lights transformed our ballroom. Before the wedding, Mick spent the time to go over our music selection, make recommendations, and nail down the final details.

Mick is absolutely incredible! My husband and I were about to settle on another DJ because we were tired of looking, but we are so happy we didn't! Every time we spoke with him, it further cemented the fact that we made the right choice. Any DJ can pick a playlist and just let it run, but Mick is a full service MC! He was hilarious and engaging and had many unique tips and tricks to make the night extra special! The absolute topper to the whole vendor experience was the blog he posted the very next day! He took photos of the event and caught special moments that happened after the photographers and videographers left. My husband and I were so grateful for the entire experience and would pick Mick again in a heartbeat!

Mick made us very comfortable from the beginning offering many suggestions as to how to make our wedding reception most enjoyable. Our friends and family were on the dance floor from beginning to end. He put us at ease knowing that everything flowed smoothly. He played many of the songs that we selected in advance. He got everyone involved. His suggestion for our Grand Entrance truly got everyone into the spirit of our wedding. An unexpected surprise was a short slideshow video made by Mick for our wedding memories. Mick, we are eternally grateful for the excellent job that you did to make our wedding very special.

Our DJ for our wedding was none other than the marvelous and magnificent Mick Scrivener from Elite British DJ. Mick was all we could have asked for in a DJ. He took the time to sit down and listen to what music we wanted to hear and not hear. He offered suggestions and had very good input of his own. Kara and I were married in October of 2018 in La Jolla and could not have hoped for a better reception experience, largely thanks to what Mick provided. If you’re reading this review then you’ve obviously found the right person and need look no further for your wedding DJ. My wife and I have had very strong ties to music throughout our relationship, and it was very important that the music played be to our tastes and incorporate the songs of special significance to us. We met with Mick several times before the wedding which gave him time to explain his approach to deejaying, and us time to express our intent for the musical experience. Throughout the entire process he was courteous, professional, and accommodating. During our first meeting he introduced us to an easy to use website that he utilizes to submit song requests for each specific moment of the ceremony or reception, as well as any miscellaneous requests for the cocktail hour, dinner, or dance floor. Later as we approached the wedding date, he again met with us to discuss the requests we had made and our thought to the event overall. We discussed in detail our timeline and when specific events should occur and to what music. From that point forward I had no concerns about the planned flow during the reception, which was executed perfectly. Song selections, transitions, mashups, genre and beat variation were on point for the entire evening. I received numerous compliments on the music from the beginning of the cocktail hour until weeks after the wedding, and once dancing begun, there was never a vacancy on the dance floor. Mick made an incredible day even better, and he did so in a low stress, fun and easy way. I couldn’t give him a higher recommendation.

I had asked my FB friends to recommend a DJ for my wedding and got several responses. Elite British DJ (Mick) was the only one I gravitated toward the most when reading all the different websites my friends sent me to. I got some initial pieces of info from Mick via email (quick response!) and we booked a meeting at his house. He was truly so pleasant to meet with and you can just tell he'd make any wedding so much fun! He's great at what he does and I'm sure he's done so so many weddings, but he does really make you feel special on your wedding day! He had some great and unique ideas when it comes to music and even had a CD that you can listen to about some of his suggestions, music choices and just ways he can enhance your wedding. (I don't want to give all his secrets away so you'll just have to book him!) My now husband and I loved him and booked him as our DJ and his wife as our wedding planner. Mick did the music for our ceremony as well as our reception and boy was he a hit. We've gotten so many compliments about our wedding and Mick was definitely a hit amongst all our friends. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone. He was a great MC also! I've been to numerous weddings and I'm not biased because it's my wedding...I'm just so thankful we found Mick who helped make our wedding so wonderful and memorable. He even sent a fun video collage of pictures he took throughout the day to us within the next few days too! My daughter Elizabeth was married on September 8th. Mick was our DJ at the wedding and also seven years ago at her twin sisters wedding, He was referred to us by a good friend and he is absolutely the BEST DJ! Mick has done this for a long time and has a great personality that keeps the wedding reception going, plays the music that is requested by the bride and groom and family, takes pictures and videos and more! He takes time to get to know the bride and groom and absolutely is the entire MC for everything that takes place. Along with Mick is also his wife Julie who is a wedding coordinator and not just any wedding coordinator. She is AMAZING and goes well above and beyond what needs to be done on the day of the wedding and the two weeks before the wedding. Together they make the BEST EVER team for your wedding. Mick was so amazing! I 100% recommend hiring him. My husband and I are very picky, and we were worried we'd end up hiring a cheesy DJ that did all the basic old fashioned wedding stuff (Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, blah blah). But after our first meeting with him, we were so wowed right away, and it made us even more excited about our upcoming wedding -- because let's be honest, having a good DJ is key to having a successful/fun wedding! Mick was so incredibly helpful in advance of the wedding -- he gave us advice on our timeline, what types of songs work best, and he just had so many fun ideas in general. For example, the pre-dinner "Shout" dance where you get every guest on the dance floor. We were a little skeptical about this, but it was SO FUN and he was so right -- it's the only time of the night that you will have literally every person on the dance floor, so you get some great pics. And it's just a unique thing that never happens at most weddings, so people totally ate it up. This guy definitely knows what he is doing. He has obviously been doing this long enough to know his stuff, which is so helpful when planning a wedding. It's a stressful time, and he eased some of that stress by providing us with so much advice and insight. AND after the wedding was over, he sent us the most awesome slideshow of pics he took during the reception. Just so thoughtful from start to finish. We definitely made the right decision by hiring him!

He absolutely wowed our guests at our wedding and had my ultra conservative family on the dancefloor before we even started the speeches!! Everyone RAVED about Mick's music and I'm still getting messages from family and friends about what a fabulous time they all had dancing to every song! Mick and Julie were the best vendor decisions that I made!! They are a dynamic duo and did a phenomenal job.

OMG there are no words that will explain how amazing Mick was. For anyone who is planning a wedding it is extremely stressful at times and we know cuz we just got married lol you are always worried about if this is the right person to hire or not. Well one thing I can tell you is that this is 100000000000% the right person for you. For any music type. Our wedding was a multiculture wedding. We had mainly English music but a few Arabic songs. Mick had no problems getting those on. He even recommended some Arabic songs. On top of his phenomenal DJ work. He helped us TREMENDSLy with suggestions before the wedding on how to do things. He calmed us down and gave us tips. On the day of the wedding, He set us up checked on us and helped us get organized. If you are looking for someone who will not only do an amazing DJ job but go above and beyond then Mick is right for you. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention he took plenty of pictures which he sent to us before our photograph, made a slide show with them as well. One other huge thing he did for us without even us knowing, he recorded our ceremony which after the wedding we realized that we barely had any recorded footage. A couple weeks after the wedding we get a HUGE SURPRISE in the form of an email from Mick with the ceremony being recorded so well. In the Email he even apologized saying it was not anything professional. What an amazing person we want to get married again just so we can hire him lol. Final tip for the engaged couples, hire Mick ASAP with those prices he is offering because the kind of work he offers is priceless and you will not I PROMISE YOU get anything close service wise for the amazing deals he offers. If you're looking for a DJ in the San Diego area, look no further. We used Mick (and his wife Julie, a coordinator) for our wedding at Scripps Seaside forum. Mick did an outstanding job with the preparation of our songs and had several fun ideas to incorporate into our night. He was very organized and responsive to emails and texts. Everyone had such a fun time at our wedding and we got many compliments from guests about Mick's fun personality! The day after the wedding, we also received dozens of pictures he took throughout the night and also a slide show. We were not expecting this at all and it was so nice of him to do this for us as we await pictures from our photographer. I recommend Mick very highly!

Cody and I were so impressed with Mick! He was on top of everything from the start, he went over our timeline, suggested changes and also suggested songs for the wedding. He spent a lot of time meeting with us in person to explain everything in depth and over the telephone as well. He was always quick to reply to any questions or concerns along the way. He is one of the nicest people we’ve ever met and you can tell he enjoys what he does. He kept everyone on the dance floor the day of and also kept our timeline moving along smoothly! Planning a wedding reception can be overwhelming, but it just got a lot easier. Here’s why: you can now stop looking for a DJ. You’ve just found the greatest DJ in San Diego / Southern California: Elite British DJ. Mick Scrivener of Elite British DJ exceeded ALL our expectations as our reception DJ. He was prompt, responsive, and had a great personality. Everyone loved Mick because not only is he a pro, but he’s funny on the mic! Mick is incredibly helpful in the planning process. One of the best things about Mick is his innovative ideas (for instance, he recommended having the first dance after the grand entrance, followed by all the guests doing “shout” on the dance floor – one of the biggest hits of the night that everyone was talking about the next day). He’ll also help you make so many of those pesky decisions easier (ex: like should you have a photo booth, should you have sparklers at a grand exit, etc.). He met with us in person prior to the reception to go through our many questions. He was on-time, professional, knowledgeable, and did a lot to set our minds at ease. We walked out of that meeting feeling much better about all of the details and confident that Mick would take care of everything. He was responsive to our emails and last-minute changes to various songs and day-of schedule. The online portal was a helpful resource to put in our song requests and organize them in terms of importance to us ('must play' vs. 'play if possible', etc.). There were absolutely no issues on the day of. Mick was on time, had his equipment set up for the reception, and the sound was crystal clear as well. Finally -- and perhaps most importantly – Mick killed it when he was DJ'ing during the reception. Nobody wants one of those DJ's that just plays one song after another with no mixing or beat-matching. Mick was as far from that as possible. He mixed songs together (with some unique combinations that I still remember now) and just kept the party going. I even saw my dad doing a handstand on the dancefloor – he doesn’t even dance! We had a wedding with about 110 people and he rocked the place. He had everyone on their feet and anticipating what was coming next. He made our day phenomenal and we could not have asked for a better person for our wedding! Mick’s wife, Julie Scrivener, is also in the wedding industry as a planner, so they are an awesome team if you can hire her (company name: The Best Wedding for You). Mick goes above and beyond – he even got us connected with a great Videographer – Jerry Patterson of Cloudbreak Films. So cross of finding a DJ from your list – Mick is the best.
