I've gotten a few birthday cakes from Elite Treats over the years, so I am familiar with their work. I've always thought their cakes tasted great and looked well made. So I wanted ...
to make sure we looked at them for our wedding. When my fiancé and I tried to set up a tasting it felt like pulling teeth to try to get them to set one up. I emailed them and received a response saying I had to call. So I called and no one picked up so I left a message. When someone (a very curt and unhelpful man) called me back the next day he asked what I wanted, so I told him. His first response was that there will be a delivery charge. I said that's fine; could I set up an appointment to come in and talk about designing a wedding cake and a groom's cake? He said I would have to talk to their person who schedules tastings. So I asked if she was there and he said she would have to call me (which made me wonder why they didn't have her call me in the first place since I explained everything in my email and voicemail message). When I finally got to talk to the lady she said they were completely booked for tastings until a month out. The lady I talked to was very informative and provided a lot of information, so I set up an appointment for the next month. When my fiancé and I went to the shop for the tasting they acted like they weren't prepared for us at all (even though when we walked in the lady said they were waiting for us). She had to move things off of a little table they had pushed to the side by the front door and had to hunt down a second chair for us to have a place to sit. Then when we were seated she said that she would try to see if she could gather us up something to try. She came back with three cupcakes that cut in half. The cupcakes were good but they were weird flavor/filling combinations; nothing I would have picked for a wedding cake. I was kind of expecting a better sample of cakes that would work for a wedding instead of a quick throw together of what ever they had lying around. Then when I started telling her what I would like for our wedding cake she would interrupt me by repeating everything she said on the phone. I kept telling her that she already told me all of that and I am fine with everything she told me. I wanted to explain what I wanted for our wedding and groom's cakes so we could figure out the cost and our options. She then told me that she was not one of the bakers or designers and couldn't help me with decorating or designing the cake and that she wasn't sure what kind of designs the bakers could do. Then she jumped back into her practiced speech I had then heard for the third time. I was extremely frustrated that at our appointment to talk about our specific cakes we couldn't talk about or specific cakes. Needless to say we are looking somewhere else for our wedding. P.S. Our tasting lasted about 15-20 minutes and they didn't seem to have any other tastings that day and didn't seem overly busy to have to book tastings months in advanced.
Cake tasted and looked amazing. It was delivered on time and made just the way we requested. Great job. We received many compliments about how great the cake tasted.
Elite Treats is a small, local cake place in Kingwood that has been in business for years. We have always gotten our birthday cakes here since we were little, not realizing how lu...
cky we were to have the best bakery in Texas. For some reason, as I was booking my wedding vendors, I did not consider Elite Treats at first. I was getting married in downtown Houston, and for some reason, I thought I needed a cake place downtown.
As I was searching, I found a beautiful cake from this vendor. They said that with 3 tiers, the cake would cost $1,800. Not knowing the typical cost of a wedding cake in Houston, I thought that was the going rate. A couple of months later, we do a taste test.....awful. Absolutely awful. All I wanted after that was a really good Elite Treat cake.
We went there the next day and asked about their wedding cakes. They gave us a tasting right there and said that a 3-tiered wedding cake, plus a groom's cake, and delivery charge would cost around $500. Not to mention, the cake is the best cake you will EVER have.
The wedding day, the cake was GORGEOUS and DELICIOUS!!!! I was so happy about the purchase, not to mention that my guests were even happier. Without reservation, I highly recommend Elite Treats for your wedding cakes.
The cake was beautiful and was one of the best tasting cakes my husband and I have ever had! Our guests loved it!
I tested cakes at 3 places before I picked them. I had their cakes for years before for birthdays and occasions. They are always great. No complaints from them.
We've been using Elite Treats for cakes since we moved to Kingwood 20 years ago, and I have yet to be disappointed with their pastries.

e, and then cakes on each guest table (just smooth white icing and a blue ribbon around the bottom of the cake). Elite treats did exactly what we wanted, and it was delicious! The cakes were moist and presented beautifully. The price they quoted us was cheap (about $2.50 a slice) and the people we worked with were easy to get in touch with and accommodating.
Fair warning: I have heard that not all of their work is gorgeous. The cakes always seem to be perfect, but the decorations on them are sometimes a little messy. They do not work with fondant, so if that's what you're looking for I'd find another bakery. That wasn't our experience though!
My mom and I went to several cake tastings and we were in awe when we tried Elite Treats. I chose them even though they were almost double the price of other bakeries. My wedding c...
ake: by far the best tasting cake I've ever had and I made all the decorations for it and took them to them before hand so the cake overall turned out well. It was suppose to have a strawberry layer and a pineapple layer, but it was all pineapple. So although it was good it wasn't what I had ordered or paid for.
The Groom's cake: I paid $100 for a cake with 40 servings in the shape of the LSU fleur de lis with tiger eye. I gave them a picture, and the lady assured me that she knew what it was suppose to look like. I cannot tell you how ugly this cake was! It looked like a 4 year old decorated it. I am not exaggerating at all! NOBODY could even tell what it was suppose to be. It was such an embarassment that the groom asked me if we could have the caterers take it in the back and cut it up. It was so ugly that only once piece of it was eaten. We called Elite Treats to complain the following day, and they were rude and said that it looked exactly like the picture. IT DID NOT! On top of everything else. When I first talked to them, they quoted me $50 delivery, but a week before the wedding the owner called and said that he didn't realize my wedding was on a Sunday, and changed the delivery to $150. At that point, there was nothing I could do, but pay it or bring it myself. They are such rude people...
When I first began shopping for cakes, several people in the area suggested Elite Treats. We did pay a visit and there are some very pretty cakes both in their portfolio as well as...
on their Facebook page. But after looking around at a couple of other places, we decided to go with CakeWalk Bakery in Kingwood instead (on Rustic Woods Dr. just off W. Lake Houston Pkwy). For one, the pastries available to buy looked considerably fresher at CakeWalk (at least when we were there). And the prices were slightly better there too. The lady we spoke to at Elite Treats was very sweet and friendly, and seemed very willing to accommodate any requests we might have, so I think they're pretty easy to work with. They also have some creative pieces, but I get the impression that they tend to do more of the traditional whereas we wanted to go a more contemporary direction, both with our cake and the cupcakes we wanted to offer our guests.
It was super yummy and affordable. The cake had to make the drive from Houston to austin and they made sure the cake was packed very nicely
They have wonderful flavors. They really take care of you when you come in.;The color was more blue than purple and it didnt match my colors but it still tasted amazing.
