I had a trial with this lady 2 months before my wedding and gave her a deposit. She sent me a nice email confirmation (no contract) the next morning and asked me to reach back out...
to her and let her know where me and my bridesmaids were getting ready the day off… great! A week and a half prior to my wedding I reached out to her with the address and never heard back from her. The Monday before my Wedding (wedding was on that Friday) she reached out to me and said she would be at that address at 1pm. 1pm to do 8 peoples makeup including the bride is not enough time (Wedding started at 5pm!). I had emailed her back and called her to see if she could come earlier and I never heard back. Anyways to make a long story short I had to find a new makeup person the week of my Wedding (3 days before!) This lady does not know how to operate a business and I don’t think she cares, because it’s her side job. If she does not want to do makeup anymore, I don't understand why she agrees to provide people services... The worst part was when I told her that I found someone else the week of my wedding she said “OK, no problem” No apology for disappearing and/or sorry for leaving you high and dry…. It ended up working out for the better because my new makeup lady came to the house at 10am and did 8 peoples makeup and my makeup looked 50x better than my trial! The only decent thing this lady did was mail me my deposit back….Stay away! Unless you want to be looking for a new makeup artist three days before your wedding….horrible experience...
I had the honor of being a guest as well as the photographer for my aunt's wedding at the Harvard Club in Boston, and so was in the room while the bridal party had their hair/makeu...
p done. I've seen many makeup artists on wedding days. Elizabeth had worked on a previous wedding which the bride attended and she was so impressed with the makeup that she hired Elizabeth a few months later. All of the ladies looked gorgeous. What a great job! Highly recommended.
Elizabeth was the makeup artist for my September wedding. She was absolutely amazing! I decided last minute that I needed some help with my makeup and was not going to attempt it m...
yself. I couldn’t have been happier with the results – my makeup stayed all night long and looked great in the pictures. She answered every email promptly and I felt comfortable with her from the beginning. She did the makeup for me, 3 bridesmaids, MOB & MOG with no dilemmas. I would highly recommend Elizabeth for any occasion.
Elizabeth did the makeup for myself, the bridal party and my mother. She did beautiful job and made each girl look stunning. She was especially talented with people like myself an...
d my mother who typically do not wear a lot of make up! She is such a nice person who takes much pride in her work!
Elizabeth has become a fixture at all of our family weddings - including my own. I had two other trials before I found Elizabeth and, seeing I do not wear make-up regularly, I was...
not thrilled with the first two trials. Elizabeth really is a true make-up "artist." I showed her a few pictures and she was able to create the warm and natural look that I wanted. My mother actually cried when I walked in the door from the consultation!
She has always been very flexible and accommodating for our family weddings - which were at the Mt. Washington Hotel, Newport, and Cape Cod. Aside from making us all look amazing, what I remember most about Elizabeth is that she was a calming presence on the morning of the wedding. I had 18 people in my suite getting ready and Elizabeth was like having an old friend around and wasn't phased at all by the chaos - including my sister who was ordering round after round of mimosas! Even my mom who initially was refusing to wear make-up, was coaxed into the chair and 20 minutes later was transformed into a stunning mother-of-the-bride!
Elizabeth is able to create whatever kind of look you would like. I had 2 bridesmaids that wanted a "stronger" look, and the rest of us just wanted to look natural. She has a way of making everyone look their best!
I also had Elizabeth come to a "Girls Night" where she did make-up lessons for 12 of us and all were grateful for what they learned...and for how much fun we had. She has even done a princess make-up party for my niece! Since my first consultation, she has become our official family make-up artist! I have sent her several referrals and everyone calls to thank me. You will not be disappointed!
Elizabeth was the makeup artist for my July 30, 2011 wedding, and she did a wonderful job. I usually do my own makeup, but I knew that I would want professional help for the big da...
y, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. The makeup lasted all day, and not only did it photograph well, it looked great in person.
A few months earlier, Elizabeth came to my home for the trial, and was very receptive to my style and color preferences. She has a warm manner, and a good sense of humor - I felt very comfortable with her. She also advised me on which products to buy (lip color, face powder), and even met me downtown to try out a different lip gloss!
On the big day, she met our party at a hair salon, arriving ahead of schedule. She was calm, and efficient, and did a great job of recreating my look. Two of my bridesmaids also had their makeup done (neither one had a trial beforehand), and they were both thrilled with the results. It's worth mentioning that though the bridal makeup is an investment, the bridesmaids rates are extremely reasonable - important if you're looking to keep their costs down. In all, working with Elizabeth is a great experience, and having your makeup done is well worth it for such a big day.
