I loved my bridal hair and makeup and the work done on my bridesmaids by Ella and Jeannette. Ella nailed the look I was going for. We did get a bit behind schedule, which was pretty stressful for me when I had to rush to get my dress on. These two ladies were extremely friendly and professional on the wedding day and my friends enjoyed chatting with them during their services.

Ella is fantastic! Everyone looked like better versions of themselves and not like completely different people. She is very professional, has a great eye for these things and brings great vibes for the wedding day. The day of my wedding I had changed the look I had previously wanted for my trial and the final version was gorgeous. I was thrilled about everything. She also styled my husbands hair and it came out great.

I found Ella through my wedding planner in Sayulita, who sent me a list of recommended HMU artists. Of that list I chose Ella because of her qualifications, experience, and naturalness of her work. She could not have been more sweet and accommodating the weekend of my wedding! I really appreciated her flexibility throughout the weekend. Ella arrived punctually at our Villa at the top of gringo hill for my trial. She was able to do the trial then leave me with a different look for our welcome party. Fortunately, she was not phased at all by the chaos of all of my wedding party arriving to the Villa at the same time. She was extremely generous to go out of her way to let us borrow an air mattress from her when she saw me starting to panic over not having enough bed space. On the day of the wedding, she came to my parents Villa at the top of Villa Amor. She gave me the perfect natural, glowy, and bronzed look I was going for without making me feel like I had a pound of make up on my face. She told me all of her products are tailored to the climate and humidity in Mexico. My hair turned out better than I could have imagined. Above all, what stood out to me the most was that she really went out of her way to calm my nerves and yet hype me up about my special day. By the end of the weekend she felt like a part of the family and I didn’t want to say goodbye! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication, Ella!

Ella was the perfect match for makeup and hair for our wedding. Its not small ask to have two brides + family members for hair and makeup before a big wedding. We showed her reference photos and she went above and beyond what we asked. Wedding days can be stressful but she calmed us during the getting ready process and we felt great as we walked into our day of photos and our ceremony. We highly recommend Ella!

Ella was one of the best decisions I made re. wedding vendors. As someone getting married in Mexico City from the Bay Area, I was nervous to search for a hair and makeup stylist that would be able to do a more low-key look for the wedding. From the trial at home to my hair and makeup for the wedding events to the way she handled my family, I couldn’t have asked for more. With COVID throwing curveball after curveball during the wedding week I was incredibly anxious, and it was so nice to have Ella there to talk to. She may have been the only person to really calm me down! She’s communicative throughout the process and very intuitive when it comes to one’s style goals. She suggested I do a more fun look for the rehearsal and even incorporated a family heirloom in my hair. I was also in touch with her before the trip about which hair extensions to purchase - and they ended up looking perfect for both my sister and myself. I absolutely loved my wedding day look! Ella and her team did the most amazing job with everyone's hair and makeup for my wedding - we had a lot of different hairstyle requests and skin types, but Ella accommodated everyone's requests and she was so kind to all of the girls. I was so happy with the lightweight, natural feeling of my makeup and Ella was so patient in making sure that my hairstyle was perfect on the day-of my wedding. Ella was such a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive and communicative, which is very important to me as I was a destination wedding bride and I wanted to make sure I was working with a professional who wouldn’t no-show on the big day. For a lack of a better word, I asked Ella to give me a bombshell look and I’ve never felt prettier. She was very patient when I wanted to change my lipstick last minute (she told me lipstick was the hardest decision a bride had to make. I didn’t believe her, but it’s so true!). We spoke to all of our vendors. With the exception of Ella Leyva, all of them understood and offered refunds or credits for other services. Ella gave us one response - declining the request - and then ghosted us, not replying to any follow-ups. We'd had a terrible experience with her communication. In January 2021, we finally told her "We don’t like leaving bad reviews, but this has been a very unpleasant experience." One week after that, we received an email from a lawyer - Caleb Stewart, from the law firm Oseran Hahn. Caleb Stewart threatened legal action. Here's what we had to deal with (we'd post the whole thing if the character limit was bigger): "You noted that you 'do not like to leave bad reviews' but to be clear, not only is that a violation of your contract, it represents a clear intent to defame and tortiously interfere with Ms. Leyva's business." Caleb Stewart said that "Ms. Leyva desires to amicably resolve the situation". Caleb Stewart then said: "An important note, however, is that if any action is taken by you to defame or otherwise besmirch the business or person of Ms. Leyva, such as posting any negative reviews or other make any negative, derogatory or defamatory comments regarding Ms. Leyva or her business publicly, this offer to settle this dispute shall be void and Ms. Leyva may pursue further legal action against you." Literally tried to muzzle us into silence - legal action for posting "any negative reviews"? Seriously? And finally, when we tried to follow up with Caleb Stewart's firm to get whatever settlement we could, we've repeatedly been told that the documentation is coming shortly. Last time we were told this was on April 23. At this point, we're not expecting anything from Ella Leyva or Caleb Stewart. We want to make sure that you - whoever is reading this - don't put yourself through a horrible experience like ours. It's not worth it. You can find better.

I highly recommend working with Ella for hair and make up for any special event. She and her colleague Anita (whom I would also highly recommend) did the hair and make up for myself and the women folk of our wedding party. Ella is a pure artist and was able to create the exact look I was going for in a manner that was flattering for my unique beauty needs. She provided excellent guidance and worked hard to ensure that I felt beautiful on the wedding day. She also provided me with a detailed timeline to get hair and/or make up for 8 women in time to take pictures before the ceremony. She and Anita were able to keep to that timeline without rushing anyone's hair and make up. All of us looked so beautiful and the hair and makeup held for all the pictures and ceremony despite it being a super windy day.

I am an out of state bride; across the country actually, who paid a partial deposit of $200 to secure Ella’s services in California after my Michigan wedding was postponed twice due to COVID. She knew all of this ( not she should care, but she knew my situation ), and two months before our wedding, our California venue cancelled our wedding and all others they were booked for in 2020. When I asked Ella if she had it in her heart to return my deposit, because being postponed three times, we were not going to try and schedule another wedding in California with the direction their Government Orders we’re heading, she replied with “that’s what contracts are for”. I am so deeply saddened with the way she handled this, knowing I was a bride from across the country and my venue cancelled on me, and this was not MY choice, she did not even offer to return half of what I paid. I understand COVID has affected us all; it is not one sided, but Ella has zero compassion or empathy, and I am so disappointed; I just needed others to know this because she doesn’t allow Google or Facebook reviews to be posted about her business.

Where do I even begin. Ella could not have been more perfect. She is highly professional, does incredible work, and is so wonderful to spend time with. I got married right as the pandemic was progressing and she was an incredibly grounding presence to have with me on my team amidst all of the chaos. I truly don’t know what I would have done without her there! I live in San Francisco and was getting married in Mexico City. Ella is based in both SF & Mexico, which was so lucky for me! Ella absolutely killed it on my hair and makeup and made me feel absolutely beautiful on my big day. I can't thank Ella enough for all of her work and I feel so incredibly lucky that I found her! Ella will without a doubt make you look and feel stunning for any event!

Ella was the best! I was nervous on my wedding day, but her presence was calming and joyful and she was super easy to talk to. She made me feel beautiful, confident and ready for my big day. I always felt that she was listening to me and making sure she understood what I wanted--she truly achieved the wedding look of my dreams. For my rehearsal dinner hair, I wasn't sure what I wanted at first, but she gave my some ideas and the end result was incredible. Ella also did a fantastic job with all of my bridesmaids and my mom. I would not hesitate to hire Ella again and give her my wholehearted recommendation.

I'm go glad I hired Ella to for hair and makeup. She is really approachable, patient, and kind. We did my trial hair/makeup on the same day as my civil wedding last March 2019 and did a wonderful job! Fast-forward to my wedding last October 2019. Not only did she and her partner do a wonderful job with hair/makeup for my bridal party and I, she really went above and beyond. I was in a real jam when I found out that I didn't have the boutonniere for my groomsmen. I forgot them at home, which was an hour and half away from the event site. Not only did she comfort me, Ella stepped in and helped make some last minute boutonnieres for the groomsmen by taking flowers out from the bridesmaids' bouquets. She did a wonderful job! I highly recommend Ella for all your special events!

I loved working with Ella from beginning to end. We set up a trial about six months before the wedding and we worked to find a look that I felt great in. I loved that she offers both hair and makeup services. Before the wedding, she organized the day-of schedule to accommodate myself, my bridesmaids, and various family with her and her assistant in record time. My hair and makeup turned out beautifully, as did everyone else's. I also loved the overall look that we put together. Finally, Ella and her assistant, Anita, were so friendly and fun while we were all getting ready in the morning. They contributed to the positive and laid back atmosphere, which is what you want on your wedding day. I highly recommend Ella for all your beauty needs!

I was so lucky to have Ella as my hair and makeup artist for my big day! I hired her services for myself and my 4 bridesmaids for my wedding at the Berkeley City Club. I was amazed that she was able to adorn my bridesmaids with retro hairstyles that fit the venue perfectly. As for the makeup, she has an uncanny ability to bring out everyones best features while still looking natural. I was also very pleased with my bridal hair and makeup. I choose a romantic style - half up, half down with curls. She took her time to make sure it was perfect. My makeup was so pretty - I felt like myself only enhanced. When I looked at myself in the mirror after being styled - I looked incredible! Seriously, I felt beautiful and confident on my wedding day thanks to Ella. My hair and makeup lasted all night and looked great in photos. Ella is a true professional and a ROCKSTAR! Book her if you can :-)

Ella and her assistant did my hair and make up for my wedding back in September, and I cannot recommend her enough. The entire experience with her, from the first trial, to the day of, she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. On top of that, all the ladies, including my mom and groom's mom, looked beautiful! but not overly made up, just natural and glowing. I would absolutely book her again, and would recommend to anyone else!

My husband and I got married with our families at the SF City Hall. We live in LA so I used the Knot to help me find a hair/makeup artist for my whole family that day and I was soooo lucky to come across Ella Levya! She was absolutely amazing and created the exact look I wanted on my wedding day. My hair and makeup were both perfect and I am just very happy she was available on my day. Not only did she do my hair/makeup but also my stepmom, mom and MIL. Everyone was very pleased and fell in love with Ella as well! We can't rave enough about her, she is great!!

I am not sure where to start.... Ella did my three daughters and my hair and make up for my niece's wedding. My daughters were bridesmaids and they were very happy and impressed by Ella's work. (myself also!) She was very professional and equally as talented. She made contact prior to the event to solicit input on what the girls wanted relative to hair and make up. Her instagram page was a great resource for style preferences and ideas. It was evident by the pictures taken from the wedding day that she uses quality products and techniques for hair and make up designed to endure a long, hot and busy day. We all received compliments on her work. I look forward to utilizing her services in the future!

Ella was AMAZING! She was great from the beginning when I was contacting her to schedule a makeup trial and would respond right away. I had a 2nd hair trial because I was indecisive and she was super helpful in getting me the perfect hair for my wedding day. On the day of the wedding she arrived earlier than the scheduled time to our hotel room and set up and start getting myself and 6 others their hair & make up. We had our hair and makeup finished earlier than scheduled and we were all at ease. Everyone looked amazing and my sister-in-law looked so pretty. I definitely would recommend Ella, she is so nice and caring, she put me at ease and I never looked better on my wedding day! Can't thank her enough! :)

Ella was my hair artist for my wedding in Sonoma California and she was amazing!! I had 10 girls getting their hair done and she did them all on her own flawlessly with time to spare. She does great work. I wish I could post a picture with this review to show off her work.
