Ellen LeRoy Photography Ellen LeRoy is not just an amazing photographer, she knows and understands the entire wedding process, all of the important people and what to do if it all goes haywire!! (My story as mother of the bride:) our couple got engaged in December and they wanted a destination beach wedding at Emerald Isle. So we found the beautiful Chateau of the Isle and it was available for the first week of April… yes 3 1/2 months!! Since we do not live in the area, we made some calls to see if we could pull off the perfect beach wedding with such a short timeframe. The first couple of calls to wedding coordinators were discouraging, they all said “no way”, but then I called Ellen and the tide turned. First, she answered the phone, (not a voicemail) then she said calmly- of course you can do this in 3 months, and here are some names of people who can help make this happen, and here are some things to be aware of, and lastly- “call me if I can help you”! Needless to say we booked the chateau and hired Ellen! She knows her business, she is a professional, talented, kind, calm and adaptable- yes we flipped everything upside down at the last minute. She did not even blink! She also introduced us to the most incredible, organized and very kind coordinator, Heather, to assist us on the wedding day as well as the weeks before ! She kept everyone on track. I am convinced that these two women can pull off the impossible! We would have been lost without them. Ellen was the photographer for my daughter’s wedding at Atlantic Beach & she was such a pleasure to work with. Due to the pandemic we had to cancel the original date & Ellen patiently worked with us to reschedule. She is very personable & puts you at ease. She captured not only the moments that were most important to my daughter & her husband but did so in a beautifully creative way. The pictures were delivered quickly & her rates were very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Ellen was more than my photographer, she became part of my family. From helping with my planning to capturing every moment of our ceremony/event in a way that will keep the memory alive for years to come. I am so glad I found her and was able to have her with us to photograph our wedding

Ellen basically saved the day! We had to postpone our May wedding but still wanted to do a small wedding ceremony on our original date. She was incredible! She was so knowledgable, creative, organized and personable.What I really appreciate most (other than making me nephews crack up the entire time), is that she went above and beyond for us. Her expertise and honesty were invaluable. I really appreciate being told how to pose and stand (she knows how to make you look good!!). I wish we could have her again in October! If you are hesitant of booking her, BOOK HER! You are lucky to have the option! Did I mention, our pictures were absolutely gorgeous!??

Ellen did my wedding photography and I could never say enough great things about her! We were in Ohio and she made sure to keep us informed and even went as far as recommending hair and makeup for the wedding. One the day of the event it was like we had known her forever the pictures didn't feel staged at all and she even did great with our flower girls who were both 2 and ring bear who was 5 months. This was a big decision to make and we are so happy to have found Ellen! She even got our pictures back to us in less than a month so we were even able to share them at our reception back home!

Ellen did such a great job with our engagement pictures and wedding!! Our engagement pictures were on a very windy and cold day. We ended up loving the pictures but she offered to do a second engagement shoot on a day with better weather/lighting, which was much appreciated. We loved the pictures from the second shoot even more, which I hadn’t thought would be possible. Our wedding was in late October 2018. Ellen was perfect from beginning to end. She spent the whole day with us and she (and her 2nd shooter) captured the day perfectly. My bridesmaids said they never imagined that taking wedding pictures could be so fun! She makes taking pictures comfortable and easy. We got our pictures back 3 weeks after the wedding and we are in love with all of them! I highly recommend her—she is professional, kind, creative, and very talented. She is good at what she does and it is very clear that she is passionate about photography. Thank you, Ellen, for giving us something that we (and our families) will cherish forever!

I really don't have enough wonderful things to say about working with Ellen for my wedding photography. She was incredibly responsive and helpful from the beginning, from wanting to meet us in person, to offering suggestions for other vendors and just general wedding related advice. She did a wonderful job with my bridal portraits and had some great ideas and suggestions for those, far better than I could have come up with. We ended up having to move my wedding to the Durham area at the last minute due to Hurricane Florence. Not only was Ellen still willing to shoot the wedding with the location change, but she was also helpful in talking me through some other details that had to change along with the location. She turned my bridal portrait and wedding gallery around very quickly despite power and WiFi outages and of course the pictures were beautiful. I can't say enough about the quality of her work, her professional attitude, great personality, and willingness to help and to go above and beyond expectations. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!

Ellen was everything we needed and more! She helped us through everything from decision making for timelines to local vendor suggestions and most importantly the photos! We are from Pennsylvania and we not 100% familiar with the local area and Ellen was able to help us remotely for our destination wedding. She is an incredible photographer who is also a generous and kind person. She captured some of the most precious moments without us even thinking about it and she was quick through formal photos so we could get back to the real party! Finally, what really makes me rave is how flexible she was because we were also affected by hurricane Florence and when the schedule had to change, Ellen was able to accommodate us. If I did it all over again, Ellen would be my number 1 photographer.

Ellen was a pleasure to work with; she is very laid back and flexible! We live out of state and Ellen was easy to contact at all times and always available to talk. We were beyond pleased with how comfortable she made everyone feel under the eye of the camera and her pictures were nothing less than amazing! We will cherish the photos forever! If we ever need professional pictures again Ellen will be our first phone call!

Ellen shot our August wedding on Candlewood Lake in Brookfield, CT. I had the pleasure of meeting Ellen when she photographed my best friend’s wedding in NC in 2015. When my husband and I got engaged in 2017 and began researching photographers, I remembered how easy it was to work with Ellen. Your photographer is one person you are with for your entire day and night and should be a good fit. Ellen has a way of making the day seem so stress free, not to mention she helps you pose to make each picture as flattering as possible. From the beginning of planning our wedding, to the end of the reception, Ellen respected our vision and our requests. She went above and beyond the duties of a photographer. Not only did she travel to NY and CT for our wedding and engagement session, but she was also racking the weather throughout the day to find the most opportune times for the best pictures! She will not let you down!

Ellen captured absolutely everything I imagined and more. I just got my pictures back yesterday and have looked at them 4 times already. I’m still amazed every time! She did such an amazing job and I hope to use her to take pictures for me again in the future!!!!

Ellen was absolutely wonderful. She was there for us every step of the process, from pre-wedding day planning and agenda making to the day of, creating the perfect tone for pictures, ensuring they were both fun and natural. Since we were local, she even met with us beforehand to look at our setting so she knew the photo environment. She is also great to work with after the big day for ordering quality photographs. I would recommend her to anyone and if you want great beach photos, which are hard to get, she is the photographer you should use!

Ellen is an absolutely wonderful photographer. She photographed my large May 2018 wedding at Harkers Island and I could not have been more impressed. The photos are all amazing and I am so grateful that Ellen captured all of the special memories from our wedding day. Ellen also did an amazing job of setting up and navigating many large family group photos. Ellen's attitude was so fun and I felt so comfortable working with her. Our photos are beautiful, even with the difficult lighting of the aquarium, and she worked with us for our first look when we weren't sure the weather would cooperate. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Ellen was to work with. Not only is she an artist, she is a wonderful person, and so fun to work with. From our engagement shoot, to my bridal portraits, to the wedding day, she went above and beyond to guarantee we had the best pictures. She doesn't mind getting dirty, wading into water, etc to make sure that each shot is unique and perfect. Ellen was there to answer any questions I had throughout the entire process, and always responded in a timely manner, which is something that is extremely important to have in a vendor when you are planning a wedding (trust me.) Ellen recently shot my bridal portraits at a friend of a friend’s house as well as shot our wedding at the Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium. First off, Ellen is absolutely AMAZING! She was great to work with and really makes you feel at ease and comfortable. She will recommend some positions that feel a little weird, but trust her and me when I tell you the pictures will look fantastic. I was a plus size bride and never thought I could look that good wearing a white poofy dress. She works magic! It was important for not only my husband and I, but also for our families to have the best photographer to capture our special day. Ellen will listen to what you want for your shoot and will deliver. Our pictures look like they should be in a magazine! She has both package options as well as a la carte and is willing to help you choose what works best for you even if it isn’t a “package”. My husband found Ellen when he was planning to propose to me Spring 2015. He wanted to capture the moment, so we could always cherish the memory. Ellen did a great job of participating and not giving away the surprise. She got some great shots of the proposal on the beach, and also did a photoshoot that night of at sunset on the beach. Our families and myself enjoyed having her around and the gallery turned out amazing! We booked her right away. We had a 15-month engagement, and she stayed connected with us throughout the entire time. She accommodated our engagement photos by traveling to Southport, NC. Again, pictures turned out amazing. She traveled to Raleigh for my Bridal portraits a few months before my wedding. On the day of the wedding, I had scheduled with her to do a Boudoir shoot. These photos were my favorite from the wedding! She had an assistant the day of the wedding and was able to get all the shots I requested and more. She got the pictures to me the next month with a touching photovideo. What I can say about Ellen's character is she is professional but can do it in a manner that is laid back. My Dad and husband didn't mind taking pictures with her. She got the awesome shots of the guys without taking too long. They honestly didn't mind. This was noticed by two members of my bridal party who are getting married this weekend, and they also booked Ellen. She can make you feel relaxed and give you great direction when taking the pictures. That was really important because she guides you on how to stand and where to look so your pictures turn out wonderful. She has a keen eye for details and loves to try new things. My wedding coordinator and make up artists really enjoyed working with her too. She has a wonderful reputation and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about her.

Ellen is AMAZING ! I met her for the first time on the beach when she took my engagement photos . They are so beautiful that people didn't believe the background was real! I knew that having Ellen photograph my wedding was a MUST! Ellen is so vibrant and loving . One of my favorite things is her excitement about catching an amazing photo . Ellen gets so excited to see the photos that she's taken and gets so much joy from her gift God has given her . Ellen's human intuition and gift allows her to capture peoples moments as if she knows them. As soon as I found my wedding dress I sent it to Ellen ! I loved being so excited and having a photographer that was just as excited ! My wedding photos are jaw dropping and I will cherish them and Ellen, forever .

We booked Ellen for our wedding and ensured that we got the appropriate package level to include the following: engagement shoot, 8 hours for day of wedding and an additional photographer for 8 hours for day of wedding. I knew immediately when I spoke with her on the phone that she was the photographer I wanted. After our engagement photo shoot, I knew that she would do an amazing job. And I was right - ALL of our photos are amazing. Ellen is amazing to work with and makes you feel comfortable immediately. The additional photographer, Meredith, was great as well. I have gotten excellent feedback from friends and family on all of our photos. If she's available for your wedding....BOOK HER! You will never regret it!

Ellen was referred to me by a family friend and she was the greatest wedding investment we made. Our pictures are something we will treasure forever and she captured the entire day in such a beautiful and genuine way. It rained on our day and she also offers a free session for any couple who has rain on their wedding day...but honestly we don't even need it....our pictures are gorgeous. Ellen shot our May 2013 lakeside wedding in Charlotte. She did a wonderful job, was very sweet and professional and went above and beyond. We had reviewed many photographers' work all over NC and SC and chose Ellen hands down because of her composition quality and outstanding water photography and lighting skills. I researched many photographers before choosing Ellen. Many had beautiful photos, but Ellen's are just amazing. Before the wedding, we spoke with Ellen several times and she helped us actually plan the timing of the ceremony and reception. The day of Ellen made us both feel so comfortable taking our photographs. One of my favorite parts of our wedding day was getting to sneak off after the ceremony and have our "photo shoot."
