onally, it was a huge point for the staff at Ellis to already have tables and chairs setup ready to go so we could just focus on decorating for the ceremony and reception. We really loved the outdoor and indoor and how there wasn't an extra charge for having the ceremony outdoors and the reception indoors. Shawn and Kim were very good at communicating leading up to and on our wedding day. They were so great about listening to our wants and making them a reality. The only downside was that we couldn't get in until 1 unless we paid extra. Other than that, everything ran so smoothly and the Ellis' made sure it was as stress free of a wedding as can be. I would recommend this place to any bride getting married in the Wyoming/Colorado area.

The porch with the fire ring for smores and the outdoor ceremony site was perfect for our relaxed, Colorado fall wedding. The decoration choices were awesome. the communication with the owners was wonderful. I had so many guests comment on what a perfect wedding it was and how much fun they had at the reception. The venue is worth every penny (and be sure to hire the horse and carriage!) They truly helped our daughter create a fairly tale wedding!!

O WORTH IT!! I mean how many brides can say they were escorted to and from the isle in a horse drawn carriage? We chose the event center because we originally started out with a guest list of almost 200, and even though our final guest count ended up being a little less than 100, I am still glad we chose the event center. It gave us plenty of room to move around and I loved the rustic design and up-lighting. The day of our wedding it started to rain, so we were both worried because we had be looking forward to having our ceremony outside. Shawn calmly assured us, “ we’ll wait a few minutes to see if it stops, and if it doesn’t, we’ll wait a few more minutes.” We ended up having our ceremony outside, and although we still got spit on a little, it was well worth it. Kim and Shawn, and all of the Ellis family and staff were so friendly and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this BEAUTIFUL venue to any couple looking to “get hitched”. Thank you all for helping to make our special day so wonderful!

y own wedding planner and would not have been successful without the well-organized process Ellis has. They gave us a list of things we need to remember on the wedding day, provided us with plenty of options for decorating, bar service and linens. My favorite part was they let us have the wedding we wanted, they would offer advice when needed but allowed us to make it our own. The facility was spotless and everything was setup exactly like we had asked the moment we walked in the venue for our wedding day. The horse and carriage ride into the ceremony is well worth the money, I still have family members, friends and coworkers coming up to me raving about how “magical” that entrance was!

The day of the wedding, the owners were available for help and questions, but gave us room to enjoy ourselves. The venue itself was beautiful for an outdoor wedding, with rock bluffs nearby. The arena was huge, too! We were able to have all of our guests inside with ample room for people to dance and socialize.

It did rain after the ceremony; which turned out to be the best part, they had a plan B that would have worked out great but all our guests decided to stay out on the patio and dance in the rain! Of course here in Colorado, it lasted about 10 minutes and then the weather was perfect!

The bartender insulted several guests and drinks were over priced. The cake, the garter toss and the wedding party tables were all out of sight. It was the most awkward and disappointing wedding I have attended in Colorado, as yet. Guests left hours before it was supposed to end. I would think long and hard about guest needs before booking here. Sorry! At least the bride was beautiful.

xperience. Concerning the mountains, no where on our web site does it say we have mountain views, we are located in the foothills which alone offers so many amazing views. Not sure why you mentioned no mountains, did the bride tell you there would be mountains? As for the bartender being rude, that does happen some times when our bartenders have to cut someone off because of over drinking or if the guest is getting loud and rude themselves or they did not bring an ID. I can promise you our bartenders are highly trained and know how to deal with guest that are drinking. As for the prices being high, they certainly are not. Our wine I know for sure is $2.00 less then any pub or restaurant. We have checked local pricing and have always keep our prices below the average. Now for the tables, cake table etc, we do a final walk thru two weeks before each wedding and the bride and groom tells us how the way they want the room set up. If you could not see where you were sitting why didn't you get up and go to the dance floor for the garter toss or where they were cutting the cake. Concerning the sound, each bride and groom hires the DJ of their choice, the Ellis Ranch has nothing to do with the DJ, many hire a friend and that is never good. Most of our weddings held in the Event Center are large weddings. We host over 100 weddings a year in that room and this is the first for this complaint.

Ellis ranch offers a variety of costs depending on day, season and service - for our large wedding it was by far the most affordable. Shawn and Kim were great to work with during the planning process. It actually rained on my wedding day and this venue was great about the issues that presented. They let you bring in your own alcohol and caterer and that saved us a fortune!

Because you have to create your wedding, we advise you plan well in advance. Our only criticism of the place is that you have to use their preferred DJ and Decorator and the other preferred vendors will contact you repeatedly to see if you need their services (annoying but not a deal breaker).
