My husband and I were in search of a smaller venue, something that wasn’t the typical banquet hall venue. The Ellwood was the perfect venue for us, we married outside in the gard...
ens and had the reception in the Ellwood Nehring house which seated 50. We liked this venue because We had control; I booked my own choice of caterer, bar, florist, photographer, etc. this may deter people to do it all by yourself, but that was what I was looking for. In my opinion, banquet halls are too basic and generic.
Donna Gable was the coordinator and was SO kind and accommodating. We toured the venue MANY times during the planning process which was helpful to see everything when we wanted to.
I really appreciate that the venue is booked/charged by the hour.
Having my wedding and reception at the Ellwood House saved me a lot of money, without compromising on beauty and quality. The grounds and houses are gorgeous, perfect for photos.
10/10 would recommend again.
We had our wedding outside and it was really beautiful. The only thing that wasn't beautiful was how dried and dead the grass was, but with the current weather there isn't much too...
be done about that. It was only 350 dollars to rent the outside space and the backup room, but you did have to rent your own chairs, sound system, etc.
