I quickly realized that I had ZERO idea how much went into orchestrating your big day. Enter: Elyse and Ashley. These two women handled every little detail (and I mean every. little. detail. ) - linens, wrapping the dance floor, flip flops for the reception, sharpies for our guest book - you name it, they thought of it! Things I NEVER would have thought of. Also, Elyse and her team are crazy organized. I'm talking next level, y'all. You should have seen the check-list/timeline they put together for me - it was seriously a work of art. My videographer (who is from out of state and has worked many a big budget weddings) told me he had never met a wedding planner more detailed-oriented and efficient - I believe his exact words were, "I've never had the privilege of working with anyone like them." To top it all off, Elyse and Ashley were ALWAYS available to me, no matter what day or time it was...and I constantly had questions (raise your hand if you continually overthink everything). Despite my persistent inquiries, they remained patient, professional and helpful. So much so, that when the day of my wedding rolled around, I was SO. DAMN. CHILL. Like, spa day chill. And that to me, was the greatest wedding present of all - being able to focus on marrying my best friend and not obsessing over all the insignificant details. So, do yourself a favor and HIRE THIS DREAM TEAM! ESPECIALLY if you're planning a big wedding. You won't be disappointed!!!

h professionalism, grace, creativity and poise under pressure. Elyse and Ashley basically "took over" 6 weeks out, handling all contracts, timetables, payment schedules and negotiations. They provided us with meticulous lists, schedules and reminders so that it was basically impossible to overlook any important detail. They provided suggestions and answers to "worst case scenarios", especially since our wedding weekend was supposed to be a washout. Never once did they panic or appear stressed throughout this whole process. Despite the countless number of phone calls, requests, questions and concerns from our end, EJWP responded with kindness and patience...day or night! But the best part of all was the wedding weekend. As the mother of the bride, I was able to enjoy the entire weekend because I knew that Elyse and her competent team were in charge. I was able to relax and have fun as though I had no worries or responsibilities in the world. Having that feeling all weekend was priceless. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Elyse and Ashley, for being so kind, enthusiastic and hard working during these past 6 weeks. You were the absolute BEST!!

After talking to Ashley over the phone, my mom and I were completely on board. We cannot imagine the entire process going more smoothly. And she did!!! Not only was she so vital for me and my husbands peace of mind on the wedding weekend, but she was in control of and helpful to my entire very large family. At the end of the wedding my mom told Ashley that she didn’t know what we were gonna do without her and asked if she could take ashley home with her!!! Not only was she on top of every single detail, she was also a friend and an amazing support system on my big day and helped keep me calm the whole time. Even going out of her way to steam my dress and fan me in the heat seconds before walking down the aisle!! On our wedding day she and Ashley took care of every last detail to the point where when our friends ask us "So, what went wrong at your wedding, because something always goes wrong?" Our honest reply is, "If something went wrong it was fixed before we -- or our guests -- knew about it!" They also dealt with last minute requests like champions (including carting 50 leftover gift bags to the reception and carrying around an extra shirt for my dad). Everyone asked me if I was stressed and not once did I say yes, you only get stressed over things you are worried about and never was I truly worried about anything during the planning process. I had them for the entire process and would absolutely recommend that route because I wasn't knowledgeable in the wedding planning world and what to do when and not once regretted that decision. They are so incredibly organized and very easily accessible via text and email. I knew I had made the absolute best decision once I had gotten my schedule for wedding day, not only was everything on time and down to the minute but we were so ahead of schedule that we kicked up our heels for an hour prior to photos. Without Ashley, this would not have been the case. Ashley truly was the behind the scenes star of the show and I can't recommend her more and words can describe. Please do yourself and favor and hire Elyse Jennings Weddings, not only will you have the best time in planning but your wedding will be the "best one we've ever been to" (per my guests). My parents planned a trip to Italy (prior to my engagement) that ended up being 2 weeks before the wedding - and as a current residence of Houston, TX - having Elyse that last month was truly my saving grace!! She was my "right hand woman" on anything wedding & vendor related AND was just "there for me" when my family was out of touch. As an anxious person, Elyse's calm and sweet personality that gave me the comfort I desperately needed that last month of planning and on my actual wedding weekend. On my wedding day, my bridesmaids kept saying "It's freaking us out how calm you are right now" and I know it had everything to do with Elyse and her awesome team! We needed someone who could come in and helps us tie up lose ends, coordinate the wedding day, create a schedule, and help us think of any detail we may have overlooked. They covered all of these bases and then some. The level of detail that Elyse pays attention to is absolutely amazing. She created an incredibly organized schedule for us for the wedding weekend which was so helpful in making sure the bride side, groom side, bridal party, vendors, etc. were all on the same page. She understands the importance of scheduling and how it contributes to making an event go off without a hitch. Elyse and her team took direction well, problem solved on the spot, and knew how to disappear into the background while the festivities were going on. The day of the wedding, I asked Elyse if wedding days were every troublesome for her clients and her response was, “no, at least not that you would know”. Three days later, I found out that that statement was very true because we had a problem prior to the reception beginning with the bride’s cake and the groom’s cake but Elyse and Ashley handled it and we did not know anything about it. A few days later, Elyse shared the story with me when I could relax and enjoy the story. Elyse, Ashley, and Robyn, thank you for a wonderful wedding. You all exceeded our expectation and made the day and night of the wedding wonderful. As my husband said, “there was no way we could have done it without Elyse and her team”. Thank you!

She was extremely organized, thorough, and made me feel like I was the most important bride. As our wedding day got closer, the weather outlook was torrential rain for the four days leading up to our wedding, with the slight possibility of it easing up by our reception. We chose an outdoor venue and to say I was freaking out was an understatement. Elyse kept me extremely calm during this time and had an entire rain plan organized with all of our vendors just in case. If I had been on my own, this would have been a complete disaster. On the actual wedding day, Elyse and her team had every moment planned out so that I did not have to worry about a thing. Our wedding day turned out to be absolutely perfect and knowing that I had Elyse to take care of all of the behind the scenes details so that my new husband and I could enjoy our family, friends, and all of the love surrounding us was something I will never be able to thank her enough for. They were present but never obtrusive; they allowed the day to happen around them while still accomplishing everything they needed to. I know this was only because they had a fearless leader in Elyse. Elyse brings your relationship to life. She incorporates it into every detail. She fills the venue with it: it is the music playing all night long and the champagne being poured at the bar. The night of our wedding Pearce paced back and forth in our suite smiling and repeating again and again that the whole wedding was so unbelievably amazing. While I'm sure part of it was a left over high from the second line, or possibly the delicious drinks flowing all night long at Latrobe's, our "best day ever" was all because of Elyse and her team.

I enjoyed every second of the day and Elyse and her team couldn’t have been more attentive. She turned our vision into a perfect reality and executed everything flawlessly. About 4 months into the planning, I decided that looking for help would be a good idea as the details started piling up. That’s when my daughter came across Elyse and Tying the Knot Wedding Planning. We decided to actually hire Elyse for the rest of the planning time, which at that point was about 10 months. Even though we had done some of the original planning, we started to realize that there was so much more to the process than we even could fathom. Most brides probably overlook this point, but don’t kid yourself! It is a huge orchestrated event with thousands of working parts! 9consi As the mother-of-the-bride, this was the best decision ever! Going forward with a 300-guest event in a city with so many traditions and styles, we could have never pulled off this wedding without Elyse. Sounds hyperbolic? It’s not, and I’ll tell you why. The details are so complex and time-consuming, and really require a professional with LOTS of experience. My daughter and I had none of that. Finding and choosing vendors is not the most difficult part, although those decisions matter a lot in the end. The demanding issues came down to the specifics of all the bride’s “wants.” This ends up affecting every aspect of the event. Elyse, being the consummate professional, was able to take us by the hand and walk through every big and small detail, many of which we never knew even existed. Believe me when I say, a person as organized and calm as Elyse is a God-send. The most important factor of the relationship we developed with Elyse as the months went by, and Moms out there, this is no small thing, was the fact that Elyse served as a beautiful buffer between my daughter and me. It was all unspoken and seemed so natural, but looking back I totally understand now the value of Elyse’s time and efforts to make the planning experience a joyous and bonding time between my daughter and me! We had a blast! We never had any issues or trouble because Elyse was there. I have heard some horror stories of mothers and daughters relationships being strained over wedding planning. We did not experience that for one minute because of Elyse. Elyse has a way about her that just exudes care and compassion. All of the behind the scenes things that she does, helps keep mother and daughter focusing on the joyful, dreamlike time. It’s also invaluable to the couple, in that their engagement period is not stifled by tons of planning, but they can also enjoy the beautiful season with each other. I cannot recommend Elyse more highly. I think requested reviews can often sound like the client is glossing over the real experience. This is not the case here! As the mother of the bride, all brides needs to realize the amount of time and stress that Moms give and feel, and your best decision is to build the expense into your budget and hire a planner like Elyse. You will never regret spending the money (I understand this can be a consideration) securing a professional like Elyse who will basically take the most important day of your life and make it happen beyond your wildest dreams!!!!

From the moment Mike and I sat down with Elyse, we knew she was the perfect planner for us. As a producer, I LOVED the fact that she took copious amounts of notes and truly listened to our ideas and offered wonderful ones of her own. Over the next year, Elyse helped us plan, create, and throw our dream wedding. We felt like she truly went above and beyond for us and created so many special details for our ceremony and reception. isit the city earlier than one month to make decisions. The 31st day before the wedding we talked/texted/emailed several times a week regarding so many details. I am usually incredibly detail oriented, but regarding the wedding, I wanted someone else to do it. She was AHMAZING!!! So many things to think about and coordinate and I was so appreciative of her helping me with decisions, as well as making many for me when I was overwhelmed. The day of the wedding, Elyse took the reigns. Everyone around me voiced how appreciate they were of Elyse and her staff, as well as her ability to control a crowd of 200 people! She was professional, on time, in control, and so in tune to my needs. I truly don't know how the wedding would have turned out without her and her staff. They were absolutely a delight to work with throughout the entire process, and ESPECIALLY the day of the wedding. the details left to finalize. We quickly realized we were wrong and that the number of items we still needed to address was staggering. Every day more and more popped up, and every day Elyse and Melissa said they would handle them for us, and they did. They also made suggestions that improved on our original ideas and then set about executing them. Their active coordination with our vendors and the detailed schedule of our wedding weekend events that they developed (even incorporating events they were not directly involved in) was extremely helpful. The wedding ceremony rehearsal they ran the day before turned out to be extremely helpful for the entire wedding party and tied up any loose ends. Perhaps most important, the day-of coordination was flawless. What would normally seem like a frantic race to get ready on the morning of a wedding was relaxed, on track, and even fun! Melissa's ability to stay calm while being incredibly efficient in her tasks helped keep the wedding party relaxed as well. Throughout the entirety of our wedding day, we had no major issues to contend with, which was due in large part to Melissa’s attention to detail and her correcting of any potential issues long before they could arise. While Melissa was busy directing traffic behind the scenes, she simultaneously was also able to blend in as if she was an invited guest. Most of our guests had no clue that we had a wedding coordinator helping us, let alone one running around in their midst; the day’s events all just seemed to naturally occur and fall into place. We ended up making a number of wise decisions regarding our wedding, but partnering with Tying the Knot proved to be one of the wisest decisions of all. We could not be more comfortable with our decision to work with them and to recommend them to others considering their services.

was invaluable. As far as her vision and design - she is a gifted and creative designer, but also a great listener and puts her brides' wishes first. Whereas others (even my MOH) laughed when I said I wanted a "sophisticated swamp" theme, Elyse saw it as an opportunity and came back with the most elegant, southern-Louisiana-glam design I could have possibly dreamed of! As a planner, she has a tireless work ethic, was always three steps ahead and thinks of EVERYTHING. She is very responsive to emails/calls/texts (which trust me, is a HUGE deal), and could teach Martha Stewart a thing or two about organization. Not to mention, she radiates a reassuring confidence and calming presence that just wraps you up like a big, fluffy towel right out of the dryer. I think one of the most helpful things to me was her decisiveness- and ability to help ME make decisions. No problem was ever too small or too complicated, and she never looked down on me like I was a silly girl (although I know I was at times!). I can't emphasize enough how awesome it was to have someone who could relate to me, and treated every question I had as a valid concern. She never forced her opinion on me, but helped me think things through and make choices that I could feel amazing about. Most importantly, she is clearly passionate about her job, and even more so about her brides. Her enthusiasm for weddings, design, and marriage is infectious, and even though I knew she was busy planning dozens of other weddings, I never once felt like I was anything other than special. She was my advocate and ally when dealing with vendors or feuding family members, and made every element of our wedding day come together in the most seamless way imaginable. I was able to just sit back and enjoy my big day because Elyse had made sure everything was taken care of before hand, and she and her amazing team took on the day with the precision and efficiency of a SWAT team. I would have paid her three times as much for the peace of mind that came with having her on my side, and even my 75-year-old father, who doesn't compliment anyone, was still bragging six weeks later at Christmas about what an amazing job Elyse did. I could go on and on about Elyse and Tying the Knot Weddings, but to sum it up - I doubt that many brides can say they feel as blessed to have met their coordinator as I do, and that they were sad the wedding was over because it meant not getting to talk to their coordinator regularly anymore. I didn't know Elyse before I hired her, and odds are that I'll never see her in person again, but I feel like she made such a difference in my wedding experience that I will always be indebted to her, and will definitely think of her as a friend - not just a coordinator. Book her NOW if you can, it will be the second best choice (after saying 'yes,' of course!) you'll make!

:) My only regret is not going ahead and getting the full planning & decorating package instead of just the day-of coordination I selected because Elyse has a great sense of style and that would have been even MORE weight off my shoulders. In the beginning of my planning process I really didn't think I would want or need a planner / coordinator and was honestly a little skeptical but I can't recommend it enough to future brides, and if you're going to use one, pick Elyse! You will not regret it!

With thousands of miles between her and the bride everything came together wonderfully. The vendors recommended, the subsequent visits for tastings, meetings w/ vendors and idea sessions were kept to a minimum since travel was required. But every time you came away with an easy feeling. Things are going to be just like you want them and in the end they were. Elyse took the position that this bride is madly in love and wants this wedding to reflect that. It is my responsibility to make sure that happens without any hiccups. I am thankful for her energy and commitment to my daughter. She provided full service consultation including wedding day preparations that were second to none according to our guest. long distance planning. We met with Elyse to see what she could offer and we were hooked right away! So sweet and calm, easy to talk to and ever so helpful with ideas and suggestions. She listens to what you are saying and encourages you when you are not sure your ideas are good or going to work. She has a way of finessing the idea and making it work in the best possible way. We hired Elyse for "the month of" the wedding. She helped us find vendors or make decisions on ones we were unsure of. The contracts were confirmed through her and final payments to vendors were coordinated. Her organization led us to be sure we had covered all the important planning points! She worked with our vendors to coordinate delivery times and set-up. I just don't know how we thought we could ever do this without the kind of assistance we received from Tying the Knot and Elyse. She did not want us to miss one moment of the fun and enjoyment of the wedding day and the entire event and that, I am telling you, is why you want a coordinator. If I had tried to have a friend or family member help us, they would have missed out on being a guest and I would have worried. I also realized at some point that a vendor could fail to deliver(goods or service)and I would have no recourse. If that vendor knows you are working with a local coordinator, they could lose or gain future business by how the coordinator views their work. Very important point!!! To sum it up, Chris and Audrey's wedding day, wedding and reception were just amazing in every way. We loved it all! So much fun and joy! Elyse and Maria were there with us every step of the way. Even up to the packing up the reception keepsakes we used and the decor we brought delivered to our hotel room. We are still basking in the glow. She met with us on both of our pre-wedding visits to New Orleans, attended meetings with our venue, interceded when I felt like I was having communication problems with other vendors and let me ship literally DOZENS of boxes of wedding items to her, which she kept and cataloged for me until the wedding week. She took the time to open all the boxes and show me the stuff on Skype. She even returned stuff I changed my mind about. She made several trips to my hotel with all of our stuff once we arrived and coordinated the rehearsal and. She was in contact with ALL of our vendors in the weeks before the wedding—even ones I couldn’t nail down myself. I was blown away by her before the wedding, and then on the wedding day, she just hit it out of the park! We had so much going on and she handled it flawlessly, making it look real easy. She is so charming, so composed and organized and sharp. Between herself and her 2 assistants, they handled the dresses being steamed, vendors arriving on time, grooms’ lunch for 10 people 5 blocks away at another hotel (getting the food delivery since there was no in-house catering there), set-up at the reception venue, decorating the church, setting up 2nd line hankies and beads, setting up for the cocktail hour, ushering guests, handling payments & tips, coordinating vendors arriving and leaving, directing the wedding party, breakdown, and clean-up, and packaging up a ton of our stuff and having them all delivered to the right people (and this was well after midnight!), all without breaking a sweat, and remaining cheery and upbeat the whole time. Most triumphantly, she also handled our one wedding day disaster: The wedding floral/decor designer who cancelled on us a few hours in advance! (Nikki Lynch/318 Design), who left us with no flowers, candles or decor. Before I even had time to fully process the crisis, Elyse had arranged for gorgeous back-up flowers and candles and bouquets delivered all within an hour (By Bee's Wedding & Event Floral Design)! On top of being totally reliable, professional, competent and cool under pressure, Elyse is just a lovely person to deal with—everyone who met her adored her, and I'm proud to say I now think of her as a friend. She’s worth her weight in gold!!

ur wedding will be PERFECT! Here is our story! We hired & paid a hefty deposit to a planner that was reputable/highly recommended, but within the 1st few weeks, he had personal issues arise & went AWAL! My daughter & I were VERY shell shocked & hesitant to even think about hiring another planner. I picked up the planning from 1,800 miles away! Even though I was skilled at planning events in Nola where I'd lived and raised my daughter, it had been over 10-years since I’d moved away! Needless to say, many things had changed & I certainly was no longer familiar with navigating Nola's special event industry. My daughter was supposed to transfer to another city AFTER the wedding; however, she found the perfect house to buy & ended up transferring a year prior...now neither of us lived in New Orleans & we had no planner! I did as much as I could, but by early summer, we both knew we had to take the plunge & face our biggest fear...hire someone to orchestrate, but, even scarier, help design! We spent weeks researching every detail we could about every planner we thought we’d be interested in. I’m certain we scared several of them off with our negativity & Bride/MOB craziness during interviews, but all of that was worth it because it gave me the opportunity to learn about an amazing young lady that had just started her own wedding coordination business, Elyse Skansi, owner of “Tying the Knot Wedding Coordination”! I was so excited when I stumbled across one of her amazing photo shoots on one of my handful of ‘perfect blogs’. When I realized she was in New Orleans & was an actual wedding planner, my heart skipped a beat! My daughter was hooked from the 1st phone call. Elyse just gets in! I only wish we’d met Elyse earlier so the entire process had been as wonderful as it was after she came on board! After only a few minutes into my 1st meeting with Elyse, I knew we had chosen the only person who should ever execute our event. d each decision to be meaningful to what this day was really about. Elyse listened every step of the way, and truly made me feel heard (when my mother often didn't!). She gave ideas to support the things that were important to me, and came up with solutions for things that could make both me and my mom happy. She had so many fabulous, creative ideas that really added to the charm of our wedding day. She thought of every detail and really took my humble vision and made it SO much better than anything I could have dreamed of. She is incredible organized and thinks of details you'd never consider. For example, she was always just around the corner touching up my lipstick, and pulled out a magic eraser to take stains I had gotten all over my dress from my bouquet! My photographer said she's never worked with a better wedding coordinator! She seems to have everything under control, but remains calm and collected under pressure. Throughout my wedding, several people told me how calm I was. I laughed and attributed it all to Elyse. Everything I started to get anxious about, she would just take care of. The only things that went wrong the day of my wedding were things I didn't ask Elyse to help us with! She also went above and beyond to make sure my family, wedding party and I had nothing to worry about. A few times I would suggest a bridesmaid or my mom could take care of something, and she would insist on handling it herself. That meant so much to me...ensuring that those I loved could enjoy themselves was one of my biggest priorities. At the end of our wedding, so many guests told us it was the best they had ever been to and that it was so representative of me and my husband. They could tell we really thought about each aspect, and that made it extra special. I never tried to make this "the best" wedding, but I truly attribute that success to Elyse. She took it to the next level by listening to what was important to us, coming up with great ideas, working well with the vendors, and problem solving effectively. I feel so blessed to have gotten to work with Elyse and I would recommend her to any bride. No matter what your taste or interests, she will listen, and make it so much more than you can imagine!

I had four months to plan the "perfect" wedding. I met and interviewed several wedding coordinators. Although you think she is young - I found her fresh and full of enthusiasm. From our first meeting, her engaging style left me confident that I had made the right decision. And don't let that calm exterior fool you- she can handle all the tough vendors, if need be. She works quietly behind the scenes, making your wedding day all that you'd hope for. Quick, on task, and great follow through. All of her suggestions for vendors worked great for me. I work full time, so having someone to work with you to get things done and make appointments that you can't, was invaluable. Elyse would keep me updated on appointments and payments and mailing dates and more. Details, details, details- they never stop. This was my first and last wedding, but, I can say without hesitation that I would recommend Elyse anytime for anyone. Her help and friendship for this very special day will be remembered forever. The whole shebang!

After our first phone conversation, I decided her "Whole Shebang" package was right for me. When I was in town she arranged meetings with vendors that were great for my style! When I was away she kept me up to date on vendors and designs. What meant a lot to me, and my family, was her personal attention. She worked up to the last minute to be sure we had everything we wanted. My wedding was beautifu!
