Good: staff is fantastic, proactive, responsive, kind. Free drinks and snacks at happy hour with TVs was a win. Suite rooms gave us and kids privacy. Location very convenient for Saturday market, restaurants, voo doo don...
uts, food trucks, trolly access, etc. Fitness room treadmills were great. Attached restaurant and lobby convenience store had good options.
Ok: free breakfast quality was on par with a 3 star Hampton Inn, but with fewer options. Indoor pool js bigger than expected plus 2 hot tubs, but it’s dated and the chlorine in the air left us with red, itchy eyes.
Not great: $65/night valet. Consider $20/day self parking lot a block away. Rollaway bed $30/night. After dusk the area is no longer family friendly with several XXX spots and night clubs surrounding the hotel. Homeless population is unavoidable and less than ideal when walking the city with kids.
Also: There’s a game room by the pool that looked fun but we didn’t get to try it.

ngs could be updated, and I mean very minor, like a bit of peeling paint, some slightly stained carpet, but otherwise it's incredibly clean and the staff is next level extraordinary. Every person we interacted with was so friendly, and beyond accommodating. The breakfast is incredible and the location is so easy to access a good chunk of downtown. We walked all over with ease.

charge to your room. Your deposit can be used at their gift shop on snacks for $6 20 oz soda. The complimentary snack and beverage hour and breakfast are the best part. Rooms have one small dresser for a family suite. Our LaQuinta prior to this had more furniture. The beds are normal nothing special. The TV is huge so they over compensate the rooms w the TV is cool. The staff is really nice and friendly so that’s a plus. Service is good but I mean, this isn’t worth $300+ a night IMHO maybe at their airport location. Not being rude just being honest. At least we can say we stayed in a presidential hotel with cool history.

how dinghy this place feels.
When you go down to breakfast, the floors are always sticky. It seems they never mop them. In my multi-day stay, it was always like this no matter the time of day. Also it's so dark down there. And the furniture appears dirty and aged. Also the breakfast buffet could use more variety.
The carpets and room furniture could also use some updating. Overall, it's a nice offering and the staff was good but it really needs an update to be remarkable. As it, it's fine. Good for big families looking for a deal. If you like something a little nice, this isn't for you (as I discovered).
