Five stars aren't enough to truly encompass our experience with Embassy Suites (and Molly in particular)! From our initial email correspondences and meetings to our post-wedding-da...
y wrap-ups, Molly was prompt, kind, immensely helpful, accurate, and enthusiastic. She truly listened to our ideas and did not push her own, and organized every last detail of our meals, timeline, guest rooms, and decor to ensure that our guests were comfortable and enjoyed themselves. Even though she was working with other couples and had another wedding the night before ours, I felt all along that she was just as excited for our wedding as we were.
She made sure that our guest rooms were all listed (and went into the records to make day-of-arrival adjustments to ensure that the front desk staff handed our welcome bags to the proper guests), and she even secured a wheelchair for my Grandpa to use as necessary while he was here. Definitely above and beyond, in terms of an event coordinator!
The food for the reception was DELICIOUS--it was a delightful problem to have that at our tasting, every option was fantastic. The chef was able to make adjustments based on a few dietary restrictions, as well as our preference for non-spicy foods.
All of the rooms were clean and comfortable, and every member of the hotel staff that we encountered--from the front desk staff to the room service delivery staff to the polite and friendly servers at the reception--greeted us, congratulated us, and made us feel welcome.
Our experience here was absolutely wonderful, and I am so thankful that we chose the Embassy for our "home base" during our wedding weekend. I absolutely recommend the venue to anyone considering a reception in the Beachwood area!
Working with Molly, the event planner at Embassy Suites Beachwood was so easy and so much fun!! She responded to emails quickly, always available to meet, had good recommendations ...
when advising us on how to set up!!! The area inside was perfect for a classy formal wedding!! 2 gorgeous water fountains, newly renovated conference area!! The food was a 10 out of 10!! Best food at any wedding I ever had/will have!! Cooked perfectly and the portions were perfect!!!! This space was perfect, Molly was very helpful and so nice!! I would def. recommend this place this anyone especially if they're looking for hotels after the wedding and there's freeway access for guests who have to travel!
From the start of our planning Christy was right there helping us. Very friendly and the same attitude from the first tour to the last dance. She helped us create a truly amazing d...
ay. Chef Eds food is still being talked about and Santos professionalism can't be beat. They made my husband and l feel like we were apart of the family and never told us no. But rather how we can achieve our dreams. I recommend the Embassy Beachwood to everyone and anyone that will listen to me.
This place was a disaster from the beginning. We booked here and found out they were remodeling, but they reassured us it would be done in time. Our first wedding planner stopped c...
ontacting us and then a few weeks later Kristy contacted us saying she was our new planner. The remodeling was not done in time and I have pictures of construction workers and signs in my wedding pictures. It was so dysfunctional there. Kristy didn't go to our rehearsal; then the girl she said was going to be there wasn't either. Lisa was very nice and stayed there, but she was just walking by and we asked where anyone was. I wish Lisa took over she was very nice and tied over a hundred suckers we brought in without us asking because we ran out of time. I don't know if this was Kristy's first wedding or what, but she did not know what was going on. The day of she didn't even show up until after 1pm and my wedding started at 5; she said she'd be there in the morning. Then we saw her talking to other future brides trying to book them! She asked my mom the day of what rows we want for family during the ceremony. Its always the first three; and then she didn't help anyone. The runner was backwards going from the alter to where I was..The guy helping was opening the door way to much when we were all in the back room before walking down so everyone saw me. Then as he opened it for me I had to keep saying wait because they were still doing the runner and I saw my cousin come in and was standing right next to him! He ended up opening it and is right in front of me in my first aisle picture grabbing the runner!! Then the food; they didn't start with the bridal families. My bridal table wasn't served before everyone so everyone was getting up as we were going to go to tables; which Kristy disappeared and didn't direct us for anything. The bar didn't know my signature drink at first, then they made some pink when it was supposed to be blue. They said moscato wine wasn't on our list and it was, then they shut it down an hour early! We paid for 6 hours so we lost money with that, and people began leaving. It was all a mess, thank god for the other vendors that made it special and Lisa for helping. She stayed all night and boxed up everything. Kristy was no where to be found all night and we didn't know where my toss bouquet was or when to do anything. So much for a wedding planner..Please if you want to lower your stress of your wedding DON'T GO HERE.
This would have been a great venue for my wedding if I would have known before I booked it that they were going to put the whole hotel under construction. Also I wish they would ha...
ve contacted me when the wedding coordinator I was initially working with was no longer with the company and I had to be proactive on finding out who I was suppose to talk to about my wedding. The main reason I wanted Embassy Suites was the greenery and the elegance of their hotel. Unfortunately the construction was done in the summer during prime wedding season. I do appreciate that they were very accommodating and we were able to get a great discount and a couple rooms free of charge. The food was absolutely delicious and none of the 200 guests had any complaints. After the wedding their was not much of a communication between the wedding coordinator and the front desk when we were checking out and trying to receive our champagne glasses and sabres.
Overall it was a great wedding and the discount to the venue was nice, but their new updated hotel isn't what I expected or really cared for. But if you want good food, service, and to make sure your guests will not drive home from the venue it's a good place for a wedding.
My family threw a second reception in our hometown, and we chose the Embassy for both food and venue. Compared to our catering experience in TX, this was a dream! The food was pe...
rfectly cooked and seasoned, it was beautifully displayed and tasted even better! So elegant and so affordable. I was hesitant to have a party in the same place where I'd gone to prom, but the facilities have been updated and are really nice. There is crystal beading that hangs over the dance floor and adds a really nice sparkle to the room. My family loved working with this venue and would recommend it highly to any brides in Youngstown!
My husband and I wanted to find a venue that was classy but not stuck up; a place where we could have fun; somewhere that would take care of most of the details for us (so I wouldn...
't be up until midnight the night before the wedding, setting up table centerpieces); and a place that was convenient for our many out of town guests. We chose Embassy Suites Beachwood and couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Working with Jennifer was awesome - she listened to us and took our ideas and made them happen. I dropped off the decorations and centerpieces I wanted early in the week and their staff set it all up for me - no stress for me! She also offered suggestions that made sense and worked out perfectly and all of the staff were gracious and went out of their way to make our day great. We had rave reviews about how nice the reception was and how wonderful it was to be able to enjoy the open bar and walk to the room at the end of the night - no worries about transportation! The food was yummy, the space was perfect for us (between 150-200 guests) and we loved watching the turtles that live in the lobby :) My only complaint - which is more of an issue with the booking/corporate office than with this location as a wedding venue - was that some of our guests had a very difficult time booking a room in our block because they direct bookings to a call center that was confused and kept telling people there were no more rooms (when there were). Other than that glitch for our guests, we LOVED Embassy and would definitely recommend it!
Loved every minute of it!! everything turned out BEAUTIFUL!!
Working with Kelly and Jennifer was a pleasure. Embassy was the first place we looked for our venue and we kept coming back to it. My parents, in laws and fiance all enjoyed the ex...
perience we had with the Embassy team planning our wedding. They remembered us and our wedding vision every time we saw them, the food was wonderful, the service was excellent, and the ammenities included with the price made Embassy Suites in Beachwood unbeatable. We also had our ceremony in the atrium and were amazed how the space was transformed. We could not be happier that we had our wedding at Embassy Suites Beachwood and got to interact with such caring staff!
Our wedding reception was WONDERFUL at Embassy Suites Beachwood. Unfortunately, there were some bumps in the road prior to the wedding day. We had several issues with our guests ...
being unable to book rooms after we had been assured numerous times that they were blocked off. We also often had difficulty getting in contact with someone who could resolve these issues, which caused us a great deal of stress. In addition, the bar ran out of several of our selections at the reception. However, everyone had a great time at the reception and enjoyed the convenience of having the reception in the hotel where they would be staying. Embassy Suites allowed us to use the entire ballroom, so there was plenty of room to dance. The servers were very professional and the dinner service ran very smoothly. We also felt that Embassy had one of the best packages for the price. We loved how the chair covers, chocolate fountain, and champagne toast were all included in our package price.
This hotel is awseome...my guests raved about the amenities and and comfortability of their suites...I would recommend this locaiton for wedding reservatioins to ensure a comfortab...
le stay for out of town guests!
Unfortunately I'm sad to say I do not have the best review of our wedding reception held at Embassy Suites Beachwood. Kelly was AWESOME to work with in planning the whole night and...
most of it went off without a hitch but unfortunately there were quite a few things that went wrong which needs to be said. The service after Kelly left for the night was horrible. The clean up crew was all but shooing our guests out of the place well before midnight when the event was set to end. They were taking linens off the tables and throwing away menu cards, placecards and most of all, our personalized table numbers which were each a separate memory book that each person at the table wrote in for us to keep. We paid for late night snacks to be served at 10:30 pm and they didn't come out until after 11 when people were already leaving (because they were so rudely being treated). The mother of the groom found someone moving her purse because it was in the way of their clean up...which shouldn't have been happening in the first place.
Prior to the wedding (the DAY OF), I went in to check on the set up of the slideshow (thank God I was there) because they didn't have the proper equipment for Mac computers (which I SPECIFICALLY told them I had, in order to be sure they'd have the proper cords) and it was my out-of-town cousin who made 4 trips to stores to find the right cord. He was almost late to the wedding because of it and then he comes to the reception to find out its still the wrong cord. They did not communicate to him this until right before the reception because they didn't bother to test it until then. He had an insane day and had trouble enjoying himself because of it. If it hadn't been for them, we'd be out 500 bucks and without the slideshow. Not to mention when the slideshow was actually played, no one could hear it and we didn't even know it began. Waste.Of.Money.
Then let's talk about our "Luxury Suite". My husband and I go to check in to our room and we find that our room is sandwiched between the hospitality suite (bumping with music) and MY PARENTS ROOM! How inappropriate is that? We ended up switching rooms with a friend just to get some peace and quiet.
To top the whole thing off, my parents were moving the gifts and remnants of the wedding out of their hotel room and the cleaning crew came in and threw away my bouquet. My parents didn't realize until they got home they didn't have it and by then it was too late.
How disappointing. Be sure to communicate ALL your expectations beforehand because we were let down.
The wedding was a blast and everyone had a great time, the venue was gorgeous, Kelly was awesome in her preparation and carrying out the vision I had for the wedding. I'd definitely recommend this place but there were quite a few negatives to ignore.
Sigh...

rvice. Kelly especially, was great to work with, and if she wasn't available, someone else would get back to me to answer my question. My husband had a different meal than our guests (he wanted steak), and when they asked him how it was, they asked if he'd like another! He was certainly happy! The two biggest issues were that the chocolate fountain that my husband and I were both looking forward to was tucked away in the corner, so many people didn't see it and missed it... they'd already taken it away by the time I was headed over. :( The other thing is that the gift table was outside the ballroom - unsecured, and random hotel guests were seen (by our guests) going through our gifts. The gift table was then moved into the ballroom. Hopefully future brides won't have that issue, and their gift tables will be in a more secure area. All in all though, the staff at the Embassy Suites Beachwood helped ensure that everyone had a fantastic time.
We chose to have our reception at the hotel where our guests would be staying because we knew there would be a lot of drinking and no one should be driving. It isn't the prettiest...
ball room but with the right decorations from the florist, it looked nice. It allowed for a lot of fun. They have a coordinator and sold us that they would help us plan everything. I had to stay on top of them and make sure they remembered everything we requested and paid for. That isn't the level of service I expected for the price. They did let us customize everything we wanted to do and even gave us a free conference room for an after party. No complaints about the food either but do the tasting. Some of the options are not great so be careful what you pick. They also offer a discount to get married on a Sunday so we did the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend and still had Monday to relax and let out of town family travel home.
