Matt was so fun and so great to work with!! He was very communicative and made sure that he had an idea of exactly what we were looking for! He did an amazing job curating music that got everybody out on the dance floor, starting with getting all the grandparents out there and then playing some hits for the “younger folks”. He had the whole crowd happy the entire night!! He also did a great job as emcee and making any necessary announcements! Matt Boyer with Emerald City Sound was an absolute dream to work with. He gave us clear expectations from the beginning and the meeting we had with him prior to our wedding made us fully confident in his DJ abilities. And then the wedding came and he proved to be even better than we expected. Matt curated a fun and well thought out night. He respected the music we selected and played songs at the perfect times to keep the night fun without tiring people out too quickly. He was simply Phenomenal.

My husband and I were looking for a DJ that was able to play songs we wanted to hear all night and Matt achieved that and more! We heard a lot of the songs we wanted to and some songs we didn’t even think of adding on but also wanted! Matt was amazing to work with throughout the planning process and helped us with some music we didn’t even have a plan for (we had no idea what music for the recessional haha!) I could not recommend Matt enough. He DJ'ed our ceremony and reception and it could not have gone smoother or more professional. He walked us through every step of the way, communicated clearly through the entire hectic process of wedding planning, and then showed up on time and needed no help from us. He was amazing and I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a guaranteed professional service at their wedding!

Matt was extremely professional and was able to adapt to some situations on the fly, including our unique way of dismissing tables for dinner (rolling for initiative). His set up was great and allowed us to have the biggest dance party for ourselves and our guests. The bridal party never left the dance floor! He was responsive during the planning period and really let us curate our sound and music interests!

We couldn’t be more pleased with Matt and the huge impact he had on our wedding being so successful. He was communicative; he was collaborative; and he found the perfect match of playing incredible music at the perfect times, It was the flawless blend of nonstop enjoyable music that faded into the background when necessary, but which turned up the party when it was time. Couldn’t have been more grateful for Matt’s professionalism, poise and preparation for our wedding! Throughout the night Matt rolled with every timeline tweak we had and ran the music to perfection. The lights and sound were perfect for our space and knowing Matt had backups for everything he brought took a load of stress off our backs. My husband and I wanted our wedding to be a party and for the dance floor to be full all night. And Matt blew our expectations out of the water — he was professional, responsive, and efficient with everything both leading up to the wedding and on our big day. We had quite a few songs during our ceremony and he got all of them perfectly without us having to give him any reminders. And at the reception, music he chose appealed to all of our guests, so our grandparents were out dancing just as much as our bridal party! We couldn’t have asked for better and will definitely be recommending Emerald City Sound to all of our friends!

Matt was highly professional from start to finish. He communicated very well all along the way. On the day of the wedding Matt came extra early, dressed in a suit(even though we didn't ask him too - so it was much appreciated) and made sure everything is set up. Our wedding was outdoors and it rained during our ceremony. Matt was there standing in the rain to hold the remote microphone receiver and make sure everything works well. He played our playlist but was also able to pick up on our music taste and add more songs (we said we are flexible). The party was amazing and he even stayed a bit extra for us. We would highly recommend hiring Matt as your DJ! You won't regret it.

Matt was so great to work with! He was flexible with our "package" we purchased, set-up at our venue and was super easy to communicate with. He allowed us the option to input our song list requests a few weeks in advance for all parts of the day (ceremony, pre-ceremony, dancing etc) and had great suggestions for us as well, or we could have him choose the songs. We got great reviews from our guests after the wedding that he did a phenomenal job with our dancing music!! Would definitely recommend him to others!

His communication is timely and effective, and we particularly appreciated that he took the time to meet with us in person before the wedding to go over our timeline and requests. Matt deejayed our wedding reception. He was a fantastic partner to work with. He independently coordinated with the venue, had the set up with sound and lights ready before we got there. The process of us communicating our song preferences was streamlined. On the day of, Matt made all the right announcements, and got the party going! He handled requests very well and was very knowledgeable about genres and artists. He judged the mood of the room and modulated the pace just right. We danced all night! Heels were kicked off, flats were brought out, and my feet ached like hell the next day. It was a great party. Huge thanks to Matt!

Matt was awesome! He was great to work with throughout the entire process, and he really knows his stuff. We gave him a few suggestions to explain the vibe we were going for and he nailed it—the dance party kept going all night! He even sent us a Spotify playlist with a ton of great suggestions when we were having trouble choosing a processional song. Awesome DJ! Matt Boyer (Emerald City Sound) was recommended by a co-worker, who had him DJ his wedding. My photographer also mentioned how working with Matt has been a joy on several occasions and this wedding was no exception! He effortlessly handled our pre-wedding requests for specific versions of songs or custom shortened songs. During the wedding, he was very professional and set an elegant, but fun tone to the night. Everyone was dancing the night away because of Matt! Also, he expertly handled an obscure song request from my husband's uncle and it became one of the most memorable moments of the night!

Awesome DJ, professional and fun! We are so glad we chose Matt for as our wedding DJ. I had contacted a dozen DJs in the area and Matt stood out to us the most. He is very friendly and professional, and he made the whole process very easy from our first meeting, to updating playlists, and wedding day correspondence. His package pricing is a great value for his high quality services, and we would absolutely recommend him! He played all the songs we wanted to hear and filled in the rest! He was great at reading the room for our high energy crowd! Everyone had a blast! We were so lucky to find Matt (Emerald City Sound)!! He was so amazing to work with!! Music was definitely an area I was a little stressed in (bride issues), but Matt quickly put me at ease and asked questions that I hadn’t even thought of. He sent us an excel sheet to get our specific ceremony songs in and list any other input that made our night unique to us. I especially thought it was genius to have a “do not play list”! So funny, and we did put some songs on that list. We met up prior to the wedding just to sit down briefly and make sure we were all on the same page. We got to hear how he made our bride/groom first dance flow so well (and the demo gave us a chance to practice a little dance we put together!) During our ceremony, we had two singers come up for one song and Matt did a great job at having everything set up for them and being super flexible with that. There are so many great things I could say but my two biggest take aways...1) the music was wonderful and flowed so smoothly [the ceremony songs and the dance music]. We had many people commenting to us on how much they enjoyed the music, 2) Matt was an absolute joy to work with and the experience was so fun!! I would definitely recommend him to anyone else and I’m so grateful for all he did to make our night so awesome!!

Working with Matt was absolutely amazing! We had some very specific music that we needed played for part of our family (cumbias), and Matt was able to find a way to include all of it without feeling like the party was slowing down. He was so easy to work with, and met us ahead of time to get a sense of our style and musical interests. We had so many compliments from family and friends saying they loved his choices and his timing! He also did a great job being a helpful MC without talking too much, which we've experienced at other weddings. I cannot recommend Matt enough!

We loved working with Matt! My husband and I hired Matt to DJ our wedding last month. From the first time we met with him we knew we wanted to have him at our wedding. He has a very laid back but fun and professional approach. We knew that we would be in good hands and that Matt would be able to personalize our wedding just the way we wanted and help us throw an awesome party! From the planning stages he gave us a shared drive so we could submit our song requests for each part of the wedding (pre- ceremony, cocktail hour, dancing, etc) which helped see the flow of the wedding before it happened and keep things organized. On the day of Matt helped the day flow seamlessly. Our ceremony was outdoors and reception indoors and he had a great plan to make sure that we were always with music. He emceed our reception as well and did a great job! He kept the dance floor on fire up until the end of the night! Overall I think emerald city sound is a fantastic choice at a very reasonable price! Thank you Matt!

Matt was super communicative, kind, calm and very organized. His experience and questions asked prior to the wedding helped us coordinate a beautiful play list. He provided suggestions, listened to our requests and attended the rehearsal to ensure everything went down accordingly. He was a great MC, super positive and followed our timeline. And of course, best of all, the music was amazing! He played our requested songs, and threw in some of his own that matched our genre. During the dining part of the wedding, he saved my more low key tunes and created a very nice dining ambience, and as soon as it was time for dancing the music was non stop hits. The groom is a musician and he's still talking about how he teared up on the dance floor listening to hit after hit and watching all of our favorite people dance around. We had some toddlers that were jamming as well and super excited by the lights. It was amazing! Thank you, Matt!

I am so happy I chose Emerald City Sound (Matt), as my DJ for my August 2016 wedding. He is the perfect combination of a down-to-earth music pro, all while being able to get the party started at the end of the night! As a bride who is young and naive about the whole wedding process, he was the perfect asset from the wedding planning to keeping the actual wedding day on course. He was very accommodating (my wedding was not at a venue, but a large backyard/estate), since he had to move from the ceremony site to the reception site, but he managed all without missing a beat. He is even giving us a CD of all our music played at the wedding. When you meet Matt, you know he is just a genuine DJ ready to make your wedding day special.
