Felicia, with Emerald Lotus Events has been nothing but professional, prompt, and courteous to the clients and families that she coordinates. Felicia of Emerald Lotus Events was the Day-Of Coordinator for my May 2017 wedding at the Purdue Memorial Union. As a very organized bride, I already knew how I wanted my ceremony and reception (both being held in the ballrooms at the PMU) to look aesthetically and how I wanted the weekend timeline to be laid out. While I was reluctant at first to hire a day-of coordinator due to being so organized, after my initial consultation and then meeting again with Felicia closer the day to go over details, I knew it was 100% the best decision I could make for my wedding. After carefully constructing a detailed weekend timeline, I was able to meet with Felicia before our big day to discuss what items she would be in charge of overseeing such as placement of the decor according to a layout I gave her, ensuring all vendors arrived and set up in a timely fashion, keeping the bridal party and day moving along according to my timeline, and handled any last minute wedding emergencies so that I could enjoy my day. When our wedding weekend finally arrived, Felicia was prompt to arrive to our rehearsal and very helpful in organizing our large bridal party to run through our ceremony rehearsal quickly. That day I was able to meet with Felicia to go over everything one last time and answer any last minute questions. She made sure to take detailed notes to execute my plan perfectly as well as asked the right questions about items that I had totally forgot to plan for. Her attention to detail before the wedding is definitely something that was appreciated as it made the day go even smoother. The next day for our wedding, Felicia and her assistant arrived bright and early and got to work. I was so relaxed during the day knowing that I didn’t have to rely on bothering my friends or family to do tasks like setting out centerpieces, organizing vendors, getting all of our many candles lit, or the room set up exactly as I wanted. I didn’t have a chance to see the North Ballroom (where our ceremony and cocktail hour were held) or the South Ballroom (reception) until right before the ceremony and when I walked in I was completely blown away! I had a LOT of stuff for the Emerald Lotus Team to distribute/decorate/organize and Felicia and her team executed the wedding I had dreamt of to a tee. Everything was perfect! From that moment on, Felicia took more of a logistics role making sure all of the moving parts of a wedding were going smoothly. I was able to enjoy the ceremony and reception due to Felicia handling all of the issues before they reached me. From catering issues, to lining up the bridal party for the ceremony and reception entrances, to moving around the guestbook – Felicia and her team were able to do it all quickly and efficiently without being reminded. At the end of the night, the Emerald Lotus team packed up all of my decor again allowing my friends and family to continue to enjoy their night instead of being put to work. If you’re on the fence about hiring a Day-Of Wedding coordinator, especially if you are an organized bride, DO IT! Felicia and her team made my day go by so smoothly and I know without a doubt that without them there, I would have been so much more stressed. Felicia knows how to deliver what the bride wants, while also helping fill in any missing pieces that a bride may forget the last minute.
