About this vendor
I'm a New England elopement photographer, videographer, and planner. This is your wedding, and it should be a a total reflection of who you are! Allow me to help you bring your dream day to life.
I specialize in intimate weddings and micro-weddings. Why? I truly feel that quality over quantity is a thing, and that smaller weddings with a more intimate vibe create better memories for couples. Planning a wedding for a large number of guests with several moving parts can be very stressful for couples. Intimate weddings or even an elopement is better already because no one wants to be stressed on their wedding day and have that stress taint their memories. When you have less people to plan a party for, you can choose events for your wedding day that are more reflective of your personalities, and not the generic desires of 100+ people. Instead of running around trying to make sure you say "hello and thank you!" to every guest you invited, you can actually spend quality time with the small group of people you carefully select to share in the most important moment of your life.
I will photograph weddings anywhere in New England. Some of my wedding and engagement clients have had their images featured in Offbeat Bride, Betrothed Magazine, Wedding Boston, Pretty Pear Bride and Tacari Weddings.

Emma made our elopement possible – without her guidance, expertise, and interpersonal skills, my (now) wife and I would still be lost trying to find a Vermont trail that allows dog...
s. Between the incredible communication via email, video chat, and phone calls, my wife and I were able to know exactly what it was we wanted and needed to make our wedding day our own. Any time we had questions or concerns, she was always prompt with a response, no matter the platform. Every vendor present, from our private chefs, flowers, & even the venue itself, would not be there if not for Emma’s extensive research. Even when we were a little behind schedule, she never hesitated to let us know that our marriage was the single most important thing happening that day, & nothing else mattered, even when it felt like there were many things to still stress about. We were free to be ourselves, to be as candid, loud, & silly as we wanted to be, & when it was time to get a specific shot, Emma’s guidance made posing felt easy. Furthermore, Emma’s photography has captured the love my partner and I have for each other like no other – she’s truly one of the best ones out there. Book her now before she is all booked up!
In short, Emma is extraordinary. She has rolled with the punches through this pandemic, including our venue switch from an established location to a backyard DIY wedding. Throughou...
t the past year, Emma has kept us informed on Covid guidelines, has been a friend to vent to and has truly become family. Her professionalism and experience made our special day seamless. We already knew it would be nothing less than perfect with Emma as our photographer. It was like having a friend photograph you - comfortableness, laughs, and fun. She is SO much more than a photographer and deserves all the recognition in the world for being an amazing human being! We could not have imagined our day without her. She also blended so well with our family and friends! Katie, the second photographer that joined forces with Emma the day of our wedding (fabulous duo) was also a pleasure to work with and meshed right in with the group. We were glad she could join in on our day with Emma! We knew from the beginning that Emma Thurgood Photography was the perfect fit for us and our wedding day. We will now be looking for a million reasons to refer her to family and friends and photograph all future life events we have to look forward to! Thank you so much Emma, we love you!!!!

wn with her, we knew she was it. Her personality is light and bubbly and she is truly excited about your wedding. She brought examples of her work for us to look through and made sure that we didn’t have any questions upon leaving. We booked her immediately after meeting her! We met up with her again in May for our engagement photo shoot, where we were really able to see her in action. She knows what she is doing, knows what to say to make you smile naturally, make you laugh. Her positioning is on point, she knows the right areas to be at the right time (for us, the sun was setting as we were finishing up, and she planned the timing of the session perfectly so we would be in a beautiful setting just as the sun set.) We were thrilled with our sneak peeks, couldn’t wait to see the rest. She was wonderful at keeping in contact with us, making sure there were no issues along the way to our wedding day. The day of, she arrived early and took pictures of all the details, even the things you wouldn’t think would be important, but ARE. She was professional, kind, and engaging. My family had nothing but great things to say about her; all I kept hearing from them was praise. “Your photographer is excellent.” “Emma is really working hard, you can see her running around to capture every moment..” “Wow, she’s really good.” Just to name a few. When it started to rain, Emma grabbed a clear umbrella out of her car to get some beautiful shots of us underneath it. Emma, thank you SO much for making our day so special and for capturing the happiest day of our lives on film. We cannot wait to see the images, we are SURE they are perfect... we could tell from the sneak peek! I will be recommending you to everyone I know who is getting married.

looked like she was having fun and loved what she was doing 100%. Her work is beautiful; I fell in love from the moment I first visited her website. The turnover was amazing on the photos, too; we received them so quickly after the wedding and they were stunning! Safe to say we made an excellent choice to have her at our wedding!
