Robb and his team including Evan did an amazing job with hosting our wedding. They were extremely hospitable, gave helpful suggestions, and flexible with accommodating our requests...
. We were able to have a rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, pre-ceremony lunch, and ceremony for the regular cost. The chapel is also a beautiful venue. Very conveniently located near the T, both green line and orange line. Highly recommend!
My wife and I wanted a religious space but, as an interfaith couple, weren't entirely happy with either a church or a synagogue. As soon as we found out that Emmanuel Church shared...
its space with the Central Reform Temple, we knew it was perfect for us! The location meant we could even take before-ceremony photos at the Boston Public Gardens. Bailey, the parish assistant, was fantastic to work with, answering all our questions quickly and even measuring the Lindsey Chapel to make sure our chuppah would fit. Leading up to the wedding, he and the sextons were incredibly helpful, making sure we had everything we needed and that our ceremony went smoothly. We also had a great experience working with John, the organist, who rearranged an Israeli folk song to play during the ceremony. They're a wonderful community and a beautiful place to get married.
My husband and I are an interfaith couple and we were searching rather unsuccessfully for a ceremony venue that we found both meaningful religiously and beautiful aesthetically tha...
t would also accommodate our interfaith ceremony, not to mention all of our guests. The staff at Emmanuel Church went above and beyond to make our day special. I can't explain in the limited space provided here all the work they did to give us what we needed. From the beginning planning stages down to the wedding day itself, our wedding was everything we dreamed it would be. Our ceremony was held in the main sanctuary. The acoustics were beautiful and the space was perfect for our rather large number of guests, as well as our large bridal party. Thank you to Tamra, Janice, Pam, Devon, all the sextons, and everyone who helped make our day special!
A beautiful European style church and chapel. Having a small ceremony, we were married in the Lindsey Chapel. The staff were very accommodating with our needs, and the ceremony wen...
t off without a hitch. It was perfect! I highly recommend this lovely spot adjacent to the Boston public garden.
Lindsey Chapel at Emmanuel Church in Boston is the perfect place for a traditional wedding -- or for a rather unusual interfaith wedding with two brides. The chapel was a comfortab...
le size for our approximately 85 guests and is exquisitely beautiful, somehow both grand and cozy. The ornate gold and white chapel seemed to glow in the wedding video and pictures. The staff was knowledgeable, kind and responsive to our sometimes odd requests. (How do you incorporate a chuppah in an Episcopal ceremony?) We strongly recommend that you use Nancy Gross, Emmanuel's organist who was extremely helpful to us in choosing music and was supportive to our guest singers. (Great acoustics, by the way). The Rev. Pamela Werntz performed the ceremony with Rabbi Andrew Ettin and the two of them helped us plan a service which was traditional but also highly personal to the two of us. The location is almost adjacent to the Public Gardens, which were in full bloom for photos, and our guests were able to stroll through the gardens to the T to get to the reception venue. In short, Lindsey Chapel was a perfect setting for our perfect day which, thanks to the excellent staff, proceeded smoothly and without a single ripple.
We could not have been happier with our decision to get married in the Lindsey Chapel at Emmanuel Church on Newbury Street, Boston, in July 2014! The Chapel has a capacity of appr...
oximately 90-100 so it was the perfect size for us! In addition, the interior is so incredibly beautiful that we did not even add 1 flower to the décor. The wedding planning was seamless and the entire staff was supportive and helpful. Reverend Pamela Wertz officiated our ceremony and she did a wonderful and memorable job. Every single guest of ours(and it included folks from coast-to-coast) commented on the amazing setting. The opportunity to walk to the Boston Common for photos following the ceremony was very convenient as well, and of course it's a beautiful setting. If you are looking for a venue in Boston that has history, charm, location and a staff that truly is invested in making your wedding special, I absolutely recommend Emmanuel Church!
