I’m Elliott Anderson, a wedding and editorial photographer based on Vieques, Puerto Rico. I’ve shot weddings across the United States and the Caribbean, but my work is rooted here in Puerto Rico and the islands that surround it. My Approach: My approach is journalistic. I follow the day as it unfolds, staying out of the way and letting moments happen. There are only a handful of times I’ll step in to direct, and even then, briefly. A wedding day should feel like your own, not a photoshoot you happen to be getting married at. Unless, of course, you are chasing that vibe! And, more importantly, I return my edited images within 24 hours of the event (excluding film scans, of course). Aesthetically, I take most of my cues from the films I love, particularly Kodak Portra and Fuji Professional stock. The result is light and airy but true-to-life than that phrase usually implies. I shoot both film and digital depending on the light and the moment, and I mainly use natural light for couples portraits and documentary images, where big light setups might be a distraction. For the reception, I will often use a complex lighting setup for large, indoor spaces, and love the direct-flash party pics. About me and My Studio: I’ve been a working photographer since 2006, beginning at a studio in Portland, Ore. and moving through journalism, editorial and lifestyle work before settling into weddings as my primary focus. Along the way I’ve collaborated with some of the top wedding photographers in the industry and worked closely with executives at Nike, Microsoft and others. E.P. Anderson Photography has been based on Vieques since 2013. As of 2025 I am the only photographer in Puerto Rico in Style Me Pretty's 'Little Black Book'. I've also been featured in numerous publications from Martha Stewart Weddings to Architectural Digest. Across nearly 1,000 weddings I have never lost a single image. I take that seriously. So is showing up composed when things go sideways, because they sometimes do, and making sure that working with me never adds to the stress of your day. Working with Us: Your first contact will be my wife Jillian, who will walk you through a straightforward booking process. She’s also a wedding coordinator here on Vieques, and we work together regularly. Our booking and contracting platform couldn't be easier to use. We offer coverage from a shorter, three hour elopement session all the way through full multi-photographer and videographer production days. All images are delivered in full resolution, through a secure platform with 24 hours--which includes full printing rights for you and your guests. There are no additional travel fees anywhere within the Puerto Rican archipelago, including Culebra, when you choose a three hour package or more. Travel to the Virgin Islands will be billed at actual cost, with receipts.
