Ephraim Doumato Jewelers

I went into the Smithfield store to see if I could trade my $3200.00, 5 diamond S1 H grade ring for slightly larger stones that were lab grown. The woman took my ring into the back room, when she came back she stated that the diamonds were a little “dark”. She told me that I could trade my diamonds and pay $1500 for a 1-1/2 carot lab grown diamond band. I decided not to as I couldn’t really understand why I would have to trade in a ring with real diamonds for lab grown, which are supposed to be less expensive. I then took my diamond to Ross Simons in Warwick who looked at my ring and told me that my diamonds were really nice, totally white. She said that they didn’t trade bands so I asked to see a 1-1/2 carot lab grown band. The price turned out to be $1500.00. If I bought my ring at Ross Simons I would have also kept my $3200 ring, If I bought it from Ephram Domato I would have given them my ring and they would have made a $3,200 profit. I appreciate that everyone has to make a profit, but I believe this overstepped the mark. Not impressed.
