edding day was softer and more natural. I've had my makeup done professionally several times and have never liked how I looked. All the previous makeup artists I'd been exposed to seemed to do a one size fits all when it came to contouring, and it doesn't work on my full, heart shaped face. Erica enhanced my features to the point where my natural beauty came through but most importantly, I still looked like myself. This is the capability of a true artist. Erica is a lovely person, and I genuinely enjoyed her company. Veronica, the other part of the duo, gave me the exact hair I envisioned. Both are so talented and masters of their crafts. I highly recommend Erica Gray Beauty Company to all brides!

It was my first time getting my hair and makeup done professionally so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was nice, and I felt pretty, but I wasn't in love with the look. I wish she and I spent more time discussing exactly what I wanted. I think my bridal party felt similarly. Erica's assistant Veronica was awesome. She was supportive, flexible, and kind.

l, prompt, and very talented. I'm from out of state so when I came to Austin for my wedding weekend we met Thursday for a hair and make up trial and instantly hit it off. She came back to my hotel to do hair and make up for my rehearsal dinner the following day, and my make up look was one of my favorites I've ever had done. On Saturday for the wedding, all 7 of us loved our hair and make up, and the only touch ups needed were lipstick - the up dos all stayed and looked amazing all night! I loved having Erica on my wedding team, and am sad I'm not in Austin to have her style me more often.

Each of my bridesmaids had a unique and beautiful look that suited their personality as Erica and her team can do anything from a soft glam, to a full glam, natural/bohemian, or even an old-hollywood glam. I also really like that she offers air-brushed foundation and lashes, but doesn't nickel and dime you on the price. I should also mention, my hair is very fine, straight and does not hold product, but I was very pleased with her ability to get my hair teased and into a pretty up-do! It was honestly the BEST up-do I have ever had!

ess and I was very satisfied. She’s Easy to talk with, she’ll listen to any of your worries or concerns, she’s punctual and was well prepared for both events. Being a girl, yet a crazy bride I was over cautious on being prepared myself for the big day so she said it was totally fine to bring my own makeup to touch up throughout the day for photos and hair stuff like my curler (my hair never holds curls well) since she won’t be there all day to touch me up. Best advice ever- I was able to touch up blush, lips and hair with no stress! Overall she made my wedding morning a breeze and fun. I highly recommend her.

I only give 3 stars for several reason: (1) while doing our hair, she asked if she could drink mimosas with us and (2) she did not have the materials she needed to provide a touch up kit for makeup throughout the night. First, I have no problem with someone eating food if they are with us all day or having water, coffee, juice,etc. However, I find it very unprofessional to ask to drink with the wedding party while you are working. She was at her job. It put me in an awkward position when she asked, because I didn't feel like I could say no. Second, it was agreed that she would provide a touch up kit for my lipstick, so after pictures I could fix it. She walked out and I had to chase after her to ask her for it. Then she said she didn't have any applicators or anything to use to give to me because her car and makeup had been burglarized the week before. It does suck that happened, but it was a week prior. She knew she had the wedding. She easily could have gone and gotten what she needed to make sure she could provide a touch up kit. Instead, she proceeded to ask my bridesmaids to give me a lip color to use. None of them had their make up with them in the suite or the same color as I had chosen. I had to change lip colors halfway through the wedding and my bridesmaid had to run back to her hotel room to get it and bring it to me during pictures. Lastly, and I really cannot blame Erica for this entirely because my hair is thin and straight, but the curls in my hair fell about 2.5 hours into the wedding. Therefore all my pictures at the reception just have a wavey messy look rather than the actual curl that I wanted. Erica definitely knows make up and hair. She did awesome on my makeup. It overall was a great experience, but I could not give it more than a three.

I’m sure hairdressers and artists see all sorts of crazy things go down on the day of a wedding, but she was so reliable to make sure we had plenty of time to get ready and beautified for the big day! We hired her for an extra hour to come with us to the wedding venue for touchups and the flower girl’s hair do. Erica is very knowledgeable with most beauty brands of makeup and hair products and is great for brides who want a catered and unique sense of style!

never had either one done to my satisfaction. However, I am SO glad I did. Erica did a soft, bohemian updo with a flower crown in my hair...I showed her a picture one time, and she recreated it perfectly in about 30 minutes. Amazing. As for makeup, I told Erica that I wanted something soft and natural. I was a little nervous, because I have told makeup artists that before and ended up looking nothing like myself. Erica, however, listened to what I wanted and recreated it. I felt like I looked like the best version of myself. Erica is so good at what she does. She understands that not every bride wants lots of makeup or airbrushing - she understands subtlety. She also did the hair for some of my bridal party, and they, too, were impressed with her work. I would recommend Erica to anyone, and I myself will definitely be back to see her in the future!

contract Erica sent me it said "airbrush makeup, false eyelashes, and travel fee" were all included in her prices. For my bridal portraits, I did NOT receive airbrush makeup or false eyelashes. Instead, I got regular makeup which was put on extremely thick and looked gross. My hair did not look anything like what I described to her and showed her pictures of. The night before my wedding, I received an email from her telling me that her brother had been in a horrible car accident and he had been put into a medically induced coma. She said she wanted to fly out as soon as possible but did not want to leave me without hair or makeup. I fell for her lies and felt absolutely horrible for her to the point I about told her to not worry about me and go be with her brother. She moved me to earlier in the morning so she could "fly out sooner". On my wedding day, I again DID NOT receive airbrush makeup or false eyelashes along with my maid-of-honor and my other family members. My sister-in-laws found out from her assistant after Erica left that Erica's brother had NOT been in a car accident but Erica had another wedding that she needed to get to. Erica’s assistant told them that she would not be working with Erica again because she was shady! Erica’s assistant was at least courtesy enough to touch up my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law's makeup that had been done by Erica because she felt it was a horrible job. After Erica did regular makeup on my sister-in-law, my sister-in-law asked about the airbrush makeup. Erica proceeded to tell her that airbrush makeup wasn’t for everybody’s skin type. My sister-in-law has had airbrush makeup done several times by someone else. She was never told then that she didn’t have the skin type for it and she never had any problems with the airbrush makeup she has previously had done. My one sister-in-law who did receive airbrush makeup hated it and Erica’s assistant had to completely redo it! After my wedding, I contacted Erica about the pricing because we were all charged for airbrush and false eyelashes. She sent me a very long wordy email about how she felt she did a good job, the products she used applying our regular makeup were more expensive than airbrush makeup, and that I was suppose to remember that she “waived” the travel fee the day of my wedding. Again, according to her contract the travel fee was included and we all paid full price the day of my wedding. All of us feel that Erica Gray is a crook and unprofessional! If you read the previous reviews, it seems as though her mom, her brother, and herself have A LOT of medical emergencies!!

I recommend doing a trial run for several reasons...you can fine tune the look you're going for and you get to know Erica outside of the busy frenzy your wedding day can be. I was really emotional on my wedding day and after receiving a really sweet gift from my husband-to-be (and trying not to ruin my pretty make-up), Erica made me crack up! It broke up the moment perfectly and it was all captured on camera...made for a good memory. I couldn't ask for a better experience with my hair and makeup, Erica and her team will make you look and feel absolutely gorgeous :) A+ in my book!

The day of the wedding she arrived right on time with all of her assistants at my parents house. They used time effectiently to get hair and make up done for all 5 bridesmaids, two moms and me. All of the girls loved their hair and make up and were happy with the final product. Erica, not an assistant, gave everyones hair and makeup a final check before leaving. She is extremely talented and her prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend her as your wedding day hair and make up lady.

We made all the necessary plans; I provided her with the number of girls, the services they would be receiving and the location of the hotel where she would be meeting us. I thought it would be nice for me and my bridesmaids to all hang out in my suite before the wedding. Erica was supposed to arrive at my hotel at 9am the morning of the wedding. However, she never showed up nor did she call. As you can imagine I was freaking out. Hair and make up are a pretty big deal on the day of your wedding. I called her, emailed her, texted her and nothing. No response. My amazing bridesmaids came to my rescue and made 10 appointments all over Austin in a matter of a half an hour. I don't know what I would have done without them! 'Her mom' texted me from her phone around 12:30pm that afternoon to say that Erica's appendix burst that morning and that she was in emergency surgery. I understand that things happen and emergencies sometimes occur, usually at the most inopportune times. But what I don't understand is why, as a business professional, she did not have a back up plan. And where was the assistant that she was supposed to bring with her to help? She never showed up or never called either. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend her to anyone I know.

Plus she does work for weddings and photoshoots so she knows what looks good in pictures which I was really happy about. Also she is so sweet and fun to talk to! And she was nice enough to drive to two locations (we did my bridesmaids at the hotel and me at the venue). I talked to several other makeup and hair artists before finding Erica and none were willing to do that. She's also very prompt with emails, and if she does have something going on that will cause a delay in her responses she lets you know! I'm usually kinda picky about how other people do my makeup because I always feel overdone. I wanted enough makeup to look nice, but not so much that it covered my freckles and made me not look like myself. Erica did a perfect job! Thank you so much Erica for making me look so beautiful on my special day! *hugs*

a major family emergency but she still showed up to the venue to do my makeup. I felt so bad for her and what had happened to her mom, but she was extremely professional and still did an amazing job even though it was obvious she was upset and in tears. Even though she was having a family emergency, she still put my needs as a bride first and there is no one else I would recommend to do your wedding day makeup.

. It was a very intricate braid pulled into a bun. She did take a really long time, so make sure you account for extra time on your hair. She also did my makeup, but it wasn't airbrushed. For the wedding she brought a makeup artist who did air brushing and it was awesome. She also brought another hair assistant, but she ended up not knowing what she was doing which ended up costing us some wasted time. So again make sure you leave plenty of time and tell her exactly what you want if you know or bring pictures. She does talk in baby talk and she is pretty particular about noise, but she powers through. I think she would do better with smaller groups bc she seems to get overwhelmed easily. But she and the makeup artist did great with 11+ people!

n I met Lorena, we were immediately on the same page. I did not want the traditional "natural" bride look. I didn't want anything extreme, but a little more color, like I wear everyday. She agreed and made me look more beautiful than I thought I could. She was extremely sweet and flexible when plans changed for our engagement pictures. There were a few times when bridal nerves got to me because she couldn't respond as quick as I would have wished. But then she answered my call in between her jobs at SXSW, since she had not had a chance to respond to my email. She assured me she was completely dedicated and I could see that I didn't have any reason to worry. She can come to you or you can go to her to have your makeup done. I did both. Lorena has done my makeup three times, and my mother's once. We were both extremely pleased. Each time, my spray tan (or lack thereof) made me a different color, and she was able to match it. She also beautifully covered some acne. She uses water-based airbrush makeup, that did not in any way irritate my sensitive skin and wore great through the evening. I have also since changed my lipstick shade because of what she used on me. Lorena is very sweet and super talented. I would very much recommend her to anyone for any occasion.

I took pictures of my hair and make-up trial and was able to make a few changes the day of the wedding, so that I looked my absolute best the day of. I highly suggest Erica for your wedding party beauty needs! P.S. Erica's cat Francine is addictive to carbs. If you do your trial at her house do not bring any bread or sweets.. especially no cupcakes :)
