Erica Reade Photography

our own photos! From the beginning, three months out, Erica was a fast responder and open communicator, and we met with her both on Zoom and in person for coffee to make sure we had a run of the day and what our likes and dislikes were. On the day of, she really helped relax us especially when there are such high emotions during the ceremony, and was very emotionally- and energy-conscious of our witnesses (older adults) as we did a lot of walking around the city. She kept everything on time without anything feeling rushed, and our sneak peek is jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Our friends, family, and coworkers are stunned by these photos, and we look every bit as joyful and celebratory and super cool as we felt that day. A master of her craft in every way!

y ❤️ She asked us questions and the photoshoot felt more like a conversation which helped us feel very at ease. And the photos show that too! It’s us exactly as we are -  happy, quirky, silly - uniquely us!

e is artistic but honest to our true selves. It was lovely to see ourselves through her keen eyes. Furthermore, Erica prioritized our comfort throughout the whole process by maintaining a sterling attitude and utter professionalism. We could not have asked for a more organized, respectful, and responsive vendor. She answered all of our questions (photography related, wedding vendor recs, and more) and we loved being able to meet her in person prior to the actual day in order to get to know each other better. Her second shooter was also perfectly chosen for our event and specific needs. We were happy to spend time with them during crucial preparations and portraiture (Erica impressively juggled multiple cameras to shoot us on digital, film, and some Polaroids!). One thing we loved was how much Erica took the time to get us to relax and connect on an otherwise hectic day. They also did a great job capturing the rest of the event, including the ceremony and reception, in a way that really let us enjoy it all. We appreciate Erica's hard work, communication, and dedication. We would eagerly work with her again!

ky to have her

o take photos during my special day. I highly recommend booking Erica for life moments you want to remember forever!

omfortable—no small feat, considering how nervous I was going into it, having never done a professional photo shoot before. If you're thinking about hiring Erica, don't give it a second thought—it will be one of the best decisions you make. She was punctual, accommodating (we had to reschedule due to weather), and her talent speaks for itself. We've received so many compliments about how unique and beautiful our photos are!!!!

a couple which helped us feel at ease during the photo shoot. We got the sense that she wanted to craft a mood and a narrative, and we thought she brought a sense of grounded, lived-in style to the shoot which made it feel natural and personal and not static. Highly recommended!

ision perfectly!! We are so incredibly happy with how the photos turned out, and Erica herself was a dream to work with!!! She made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera, which is something we were both nervous about. The photos came out looking so naturally, exactly how we wanted. Highly, highly recommend Erica for engagement and wedding photography!!! Thank you so much!

th Erica was so easy and straightforward. We really wanted to work with down-to-earth, genuine people who could deliver the look we envisioned, and Erica exceeded all of those expectations. We received our sneak peek the day after the wedding and were blown away—not only by the number of photos included in the "sneak peek" but also by the incredible quality and how perfectly she captured the moments. I would call Erica for any and all future photography needs. I truly cannot recommend her enough!

os taken, but she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She provided our "sneak peek" pictures within days, the curation and skill of the shots was fantastic. We would absolutely recommend Erica to anyone looking for a photographer.

’s guidance, expertise, and thoughtfulness throughout the whole process. We’re excited to see the final set of photos, but if it’s anything like our sneak peak, we’re not worried at all!

d Erica made us feel so comfortable that we looked natural in both instances. We got our sneak peak the morning after our wedding. Leading up to our wedding, Erica offered a bunch of support and we met for drinks before to make sure we were feeling comfortable. She was super flexible and so so easy to work with - I would re-hire her in an instant! She brought extra film for us and the second shooter, Senshi, was such a treat

nced, capable hands! Erica was super communicative in the lead up to the wedding, making sure we had the timeline and everything in order. On the actual day, it was such a fun, relaxed vibe, which was a dream! Erica knew just what to say to get the shots and was super easy and professional when it came to rallying the friends and family outside as well. She has such a great eye and was able to capture beautiful candid moments, too. We felt so comfortable working with her! When we got our sneak peak later that day, we were totally blown away. I can’t say enough good things! Working with Erica was the best decision, it really set the tone for a beautiful day.

in professional photos, so we were both concerned about feeling uncomfortable with the camera and/or looking awkward in pictures. However, after meeting with Erica, her excitement, creativity and care made it clear that everything was going to be -not just fine- but fun! Leading up to our wedding, Erica communicated with us frequently to make sure that we were all on the same page about the schedule of the day and what we wanted from our photos. Erica provided thoughtful suggestions about what would work the best, while truly honoring our vision for the day. On the day of our wedding, my husband and I hardly thought about the camera being there at all. Erica asked us questions to keep us focused on each other and why we were celebrating that day. Erica also seamlessly navigated organizing the prepared shot list of family photos. It is hard to find all the words to stress how grateful we are to Erica and how wonderful her work is.

helped us feel so relaxed. But most importantly the photos we have received so far have exceeded expectations and I cannot wait to see the rest!

ervous about being in front of the camera, but Erica made us feel so comfortable. We enjoyed the whole process. She is so experienced with ceremonies at city hall, her knowledge made the most stressful situation a breeze. Our photos turned out even more incredible than we had hoped for. She perfectly captured the day. We can not recommend Erica enough!

rica also provided invaluable insights into planning a city hall wedding, as well as calming support the day-of as we faced ridiculous MTA and lyft delays. All of our guests were so impressed by her presence and the quality of the photos. Book Erica!

nomenal wedding photographer! We are so happy with the wedding photos and the moments she seamlessly captured. We are so thankful she was a part of our special day. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Erica!

she was to ensure that all of the shots were 'natural.' We will definitely consider her again in the future for any photography needs!

background, wishes, and concerns before the date. We had a short period of time between booking her and the wedding date, yet there were no issues on either end. We received our sneak peak gallery quicker than I expected, too--less than a week had passed. Erica was very communicative post-wedding, too, especially as she continued to work on our full gallery during a very busy wedding/holiday season. I wish we added on film photos to our package with Erica, but we still have many beautiful digital pictures from her. Erica has a very calming presence, which is so welcome during a time when nerves run high. My partner and I usually don't pose for many photos, so she was very helpful in terms of having us feel more relaxed in front of the camera. She asked us questions about our relationship and what we love about the other, which were very good strategies on her part for getting us to smile wide and bright. Erica brought a second photographer who personally helped me so much when it came to my wedding dress (traditional South Asian wedding dress that was really heavy!) and was very culturally competent and sensitive when communicating with guests, family, and friends during photos. I appreciate how a portion of the payment Erica receives goes towards an organization/charity/cause of our choice, as well as the complimentary Polaroid photos she sent us a few weeks after our wedding--these were all nice touches. Our work together was brief, but we enjoyed meeting Erica and having her part of our wedding. We really wish her a ton of success.

b/c we wanted the time to connect with her. It was immensely helpful and helped us understand her style. And what a style it is. Authentic, joyful and with a keen sense for composition, Erica is extremely talented not just as a wedding photographer, but as a true artist. Her eye goes to the heart of the emotion in her photos. I can't thank her and her partner in shooting enough for a moment in time that came and went so quickly, I wouldn't have remembered half the things if she hadn't documented it. And document she did with an elegance and artistry I was hoping for when I hired her. She is worth it. I hope to have a chance to hire her again for the next big thing I want to remember forever. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Erica! You are a beautiful human!

rtist who understands the essence of love and celebration. Her incredible skills and professionalism left us in awe, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. Erica's professionalism and attention to detail were apparent from the beginning. She took the time to get to know us as a couple, which allowed her to understand our vision and style. On the day of the wedding, Erica seamlessly blended into the background. She effortlessly managed to capture not just the big moments but also the subtle, candid, and raw emotions that make a wedding day so unique. The result was a breathtaking album that perfectly told the story of our love. Erica ensured that we received our photos in a timely manner. The online gallery was beautifully organized and allowed us to relive our wedding day and easily share the memories with our loved ones. Erica’s use of film brought a unique character to our photos, each was a work of art. The colors and tones in her film photos were truly stunning, and expertly developed each shot to perfection. Working with Erica was a dream come true, she exceeded our expectations in every way. Her professionalism, artistic vision, and ability to capture the essence of our love story are second to none. We are eternally grateful for her remarkable work and will cherish these photos for a lifetime. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable!

tions about what we wanted and held our hands as we came up with answers beyond "nothing stereotypical". We had several conversations before the day about details and vibe. She checked in at all of the important planning stages, did research on the venue and surrounding area and made us a schedule. She shared opinions but never pushed. She even recommended some of our other vendors. You spend a lot of your wedding day with the photographer. It really helps to enjoy their company. We had a blast goofing around with Erica and Senshi (the second photographer), before the ceremony. They shepherded our family and friends with tact and humor. They were present for all of the evening's most important moments but never crowded or distracted us. A few guests even proactively told us how much they liked our photographer. We got exactly what we hoped for: Pictures capturing the mood of the party, the details and facial expressions we couldn't see on the day, and people looking happy because they actually were happy and not because they were told to pose and smile. She sent us a sneak peek almost right away, which extended the wedding vibe high. The final gallery she sent a few months later has made us laugh so many times. My mom plans to order some prints and cannot stop saying "IT'S SO HARD TO CHOOSE!" On top of all of this, her pricing is very fair. She included a second photographer as part of our package and offered different options to fit our budget. Couldn't recommend her more highly.

ommodated some last minute changes and then captured our special day perfectly. It feels like a dream, especially as we are so far away, but our wonderful pictures help us to relive it whenever we like! Such a relaxed vibe, helped us to feel comfortable in front of the camera and made sure we got everything we wanted. We love our pictures so much! Would highly recommend.

e are really glad we chose Erica to be our photographer. She is really kind and talented and made the experience fun and comfortable. She also answered all our questions about getting married at city hall and helped make it a smooth and easy process. We will definitely recommend Erica to others in the future!

t timeline, she kept it cool & collected and made things work. She can handle any family dynamic or issue and is just awesome. Super professional and we loved working with her. Thank you, Erica!!!

her wedding, I will hire her for that one too

through them last night. Thank you a million times over for being so wonderful to work with. Not only do we have these absolutely incredible photos for the rest of our lives, I feel like I made a friend as well! as a photographer, I always knew it would be difficult for me to find a photographer for my own wedding and I sure lucked out with you. Thank you thank you a million times thank you!!

n in August 2022, as well as our engagement shoot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in April 2022, and she exceeded our expectations at every single touchpoint: Communication From our first discovery call, Erica was professional yet warm — it was clear she had a lot of experience yet she still made us feel like our wedding was special and unique, even as we were in the middle of one of the busiest wedding seasons to date. She made sure to keep in touch throughout the planning process and asked thoughtful questions about our needs, hopes, and expectations for our engagement and wedding photography. Our entire process with her leading up to the wedding was seamless. Shooting & Photos Erica somehow managed to capture us exactly as we are… while also making us look way cooler and hotter than we ever thought possible. She instantly understood our vibe: chic, celebratory, and a little sexy — right at the intersection of documentary-style candidness and editorial sophistication. We didn’t have a lot of pose ideas in mind, which actually turned out to be a good thing, because she seamlessly directed us into natural, effortless poses that creatively incorporated our city surroundings. We had a blast shooting with her because we got to be ourselves while feeling like actual supermodels. One of the biggest highlights from our wedding photos has to be the dance floor pics: she. crushed. it. Erica is not afraid to get in on all the sweaty, silly dance floor action to capture all the raucous fun and special moments — and she made sure to hype us up in the process. She also didn’t leave until she confirmed we’d gotten all the photos we wanted, which was truly above and beyond. Delivery I truly do not know how Erica can meticulously cull and edit all the wedding photos she takes and deliver both sneak peeks and full galleries so quickly, but she does it! We were blown away by the sheer number of photos she included in the full gallery — and that’s to say nothing of the stunning quality! There was not a moment we felt was missing from the photos, and she did a fantastic job of capturing as many different guests and special moments that she possibly could. In terms of social media sharing, Erica made sure we had access to our photos before she posted anything on her socials, which was a thoughtful touch. Also, when she does share pics on her socials, she makes us feel like absolute rockstars and hypes up our wedding day — it really makes us feel valued to remember just how awesome our wedding was :) Personality Yes, everything above is crucial for choosing a quality wedding photographer, but Erica truly stands out just because of who she is as a person. In the hours leading up to the wedding, she was the positive, grounded, and calming presence we needed as we navigated busy schedules and all the jitters. (The number of times she reminded me to take a deep breath throughout the day may have actually saved my life during the brutal NYC summer heat wave.) And once it was time to celebrate, she made us feel fabulous and fun! In hindsight, my husband and I realized Erica was one of our favorite people at our wedding, no joke. If you like cool people and stunning photos, absolutely work with Erica. We cannot recommend her enough!

ceremony she captured so many great moments and portraits of the guests. She was also able to send us preview photos very quickly after our wedding day. Anyone who hires her for their wedding will not be disappointed!

ctly and the pictures are above and beyond anything we could have asked for. We recommend Erica a thousand times over!! <3

ed on-time the day of and immediately went to work. During staged photos, Erica was in complete control, making sure we were calm, finding ways to make us laugh for more natural photos, and finding a variety of beautiful backgrounds. Once the wedding started, Erica was barely noticed, but when we received the first few photos (within 24 hours!), we could tell she did an amazing job. We cannot recommend Erica highly enough, she was an absolute pleasure to work with and took fantastic photos.

we hoped and asked for and she captured everything perfectly for our special day. Erica is extraordinarily kind and brings a calming presence that makes one feel at ease on what can be a stressful day. We couldn't be happier with how the photos turned out, and would recommend her highly! She is truly the best.

ou were throughout the process. It really helped put us at ease and that comes through in the photos as well. We will be using a bunch for our wedding website -- the larger ones where we're in front of the gorgeous plant-covered brownstone are incredible -- and we'll pick one for our digital save the date. Happy to send along a link so you can see it. Thank you so much, again! Warmly, Cathal & Tika

19, and she stuck with us through our engagement session, our COVID "would have been" date, our mini-wedding/elopement — which having her at made feel SO much more special and celebratory — and finally, finally our "big" wedding this past spring. Not only were the photos consistently beautiful, but we truly felt her support and enthusiasm every step of the way. Erica has such an authentic and warm point of view behind the lens, and her photos feel both timeless and modern. Most of all, they have always shown our total and complete JOY — throughout a lot of twists and turns — and we wouldn't give that up for anything.

liar with the process of how to get married in New York, but Erica walked us through it and answered all our questions. She suggested some great spots for photography and when we need to change our date, she made sure she could still fit us in. She even suggested some places to visit on our trip that had nothing to do with weddings but was very appreciated! On the wedding day itself, we arrived a little late and flustered, but Erica was lovely and immediately put us at ease. She made the whole thing fun and took us to some amazing spots where we got some amazing photos. She took some polaroid shots as well, which we love and have framed as keepsakes. Our "sneak peak" photos were back with us within 24 hours and meant we had some pictures to show friends and family back home straight away. We had our full album back quicker than we thought we would and the photos are absolutely fantastic. She has done a brilliant job of capturing the day, and all the joy, love, and laughs that we had. Cannot recommend Erica enough. She was simply brilliant and we couldn't be happier with the photos.

ateful to Erica for traveling to D.C., creating a comfortable environment during our photo shoot, and sharing her talents with us! Erica is excellent at her craft. Last but not least, we are grateful for her flexibility as our initial wedding plans changed. We had so much fun working with Erica! We wouldn't have wanted anyone else to document this chapter for us ❤

found Erica through instagram. After a few calls to photographers, she stood out and we were excited to move forward with her. She gave me lots of advice about getting marriage appointments and also had great feedback about our itinerary. The day of we felt relaxed and had a lot of fun. We are pretty awkward and needed a lot of direction and I'm stunned by how good we look! She perfectly captured us and the pictures are romantic and dreamy. We also included our dog in a few. We received our sneak peek and full set within a month of the date and Erica was giving us updates the whole time. Would absolutely recommend her!

ficult due to keeping the proposal a secret, and not being able to meet in person in advance or do much physical location scouting. From helping me to think through a wide variety of location choices, to the best time of day, and being at the location we chose early to make sure that the moment I popped the question was perfectly captured - she executed it all perfectly! She also provided us a large sneak peak album (18 photos!) within 24 hours, and kept her word to have the full album to us in 3 weeks. The cherry on top was that my girlfriend said yes, and I now get to call her my Fiancé! I cannot recommend Erica highly enough!!

yone feel at ease and comfortable in front of the camera. She captured so many special moments and we couldn’t be happier with how our photos turned out. Additionally, Erica was a valuable resource throughout our wedding planning process. She is full of amazing tips and recommendations. I would love to work Erica again!

nized and professional. She's also incredibly kind and thoughtful, and it was truly a joy spending so much time with her on our wedding day(s). Erica has a talent for making everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. She was such a calming presence during what can be a stressful day. We are so lucky to have booked Erica for our wedding and highly recommend her!

e variety of lovely memories she captured for us. Erica is super friendly, helpful and also a fast, reliable communicator leading up to our wedding which made the whole experience very enjoyable. She also turned around the sneak peaks very quickly which was so appreciated - made it even more special to share the professional photos speedily with our family and friends!

and that's just after posting some photos from the sneak peek. Erica is cool, non-intrusive, and professional. Her second shooter Senshi was a delight to have with us as well. Good vibes all around.
