Essence of Flair

WARNING- do not hire Essence of Flair and Teyanna to do to your flowers. The one star reviews here are correct and so much like our experience. We wish we had vetted her more We spent so much time and effort explaining our vison. We sent vision boards, images, went to the Bronx to choose flowers and agreed on a plan. We said that we understood that, if our flower choices exceeded our budget, that we might need to pay more. About a month before the wedding we had to change the configuration of the tables but it had no effect on the number or type of arrangements we chose. In the end Teyanna didn’t show up. Her team showed up an hour late which resulted in losing time for dancing and toasts. Her team had no plan with them and had only one type of flower which wasn’t even a color was asked for. The bridal bouquet was nothing like what we agreed to and paid for and a huge disappointment. None of the other bouquets or the flower girl hair wreaths were correct. We paid for real candles and she supplied cheap plastic candles which looked awful and we were embarrassed. There were many fewer dinner and cocktail table arrangements than we agreed on and, again, did not have the flowers we agreed to and paid for. She made no contact with us and was rude to our coordinators when they finally got her one the phone. We have asked for a partial refund and she hasn’t even responded. She is extremely unreliable and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and find another person to do your flowers. Luckily, all of our other vendors was wonderful.

Teyanna and Essence of Flair was truly an answer to prayer. I had a vision of what I wanted for my wedding day and she executed it perfectly. From our first meeting, she listened attentively and made sure she understood the assignment. Teyanna never tried to push her own agenda, what I wanted was always top priority. She was patient and also provided insight that helped me not only in the decor of my venue but in other areas of my wedding. Teyana was absolutely amazing. My wedding ceremony and reception were perfectly decorated and they exceeded my expectations. When I walked into the ceremony and reception area I said this is what I wanted. Teyanna held my hand through the process. If there were negative things happening, I did not know because Teyana was so in control and positive. I got so many compliments on the decor. All I can say is Essence of Flair understood my vision and followed through. Teyanna went above and beyond. I would recommend her and Essence of Flair to anyone that is planning a wedding or any special event.

Essence of Flair was absolutely amazing. My wedding ceremony and reception were perfectly decorated and they exceeded my expectations. The flowers were beautiful and I got so many compliments on everything. She understood my vision and followed through. She was also the Coordinator for my wedding and we had over 200 guest but she handled it with ease. I have no complaints at all. I’m truly happy with the service I received and I definitely recommend her to everyone.

My wedding could have ended up a disappointment if it wasn’t for Teyanna. I hired her to plan my wedding in NY. My mom and grandma started complaining about my wedding being so far away, so after Teyanna already began planning my wedding, we changed the location to Washington, DC where a lot of my family and parents live. My now husband wasn’t too thrilled, but Teyanna made sure there was transportation for his side. Teyanna advised us that she does travel and moving the location out of town would not be an issue for her. Fast forward to the day of my wedding which was just a few days ago during the 4th of July weekend. The DJ that I wanted to use did not show up. I really wanted to go with him so we did. I never thought he would not show up to my wedding and not answer calls or texts from my Planner. This is where Teyanna really shined. She found a last minute DJ who was able to come and do my reception, but wouldn’t be there in time for the ceremony. I had no idea that Teyanna had my wedding playlist saved as a backup on her phone. She stepped in and played my playlist EXACTLY how it was supposed to be played by the DJ for my ceremony. By the time we got to the reception, there was another DJ already setup and had my playlist ready for my entrance song and songs for our wedding party entrance. I later asked Teyanna how she was able to get a DJ at the last minute because she told me before when I switched the location of my wedding that she never planned a wedding in DC. She replied and said that when she was interviewing the vendors for my wedding, she made a few connections and decided to keep their info in case she ever had another client in DC. I’m so glad she did, otherwise, we would have had no music! The original DJ I wanted to use ended up texting me the next day with some story but said he would process a refund in 30 DAYS! Teyanna was the absolute perfect Planner who went above and beyond and she never complained. She was VERY accommodating to all of my requests, and was extremely patient regardless of the many tasks I requested from her. Her team decorated everything so beautifully but she wanted to have a local Florist do our flowers since Florist here would be know where to get local flowers from. The lady at the venue told me the Florist arrived late and the flowers were not done. She also told me that at one point, Teyanna was helping the Florist finish the flowers. Teyanna and Essence of Flair is the way to go. Seriously above and beyond and I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL!! I will definitely be hiring her to plan my 40th birthday bash…in NY!
