h in 2009, and she just did my makeup for my wedding this Saturday. I of course had her do some proms and sibling wedding makeup for me over the years as well. Each time she does my makeup, it somehow gets better and better. I reached out to her as soon as I had my wedding date because I couldn’t imagine using anyone else. She knows exactly what I like - we don’t even need to discuss it beforehand, she just picks up her brushes and works her magic. Essie is the best and my whole family absolutely loves her. Her assistant Riley is really great too!

at ease, even the ones who weren’t used to having makeup on were happy and loved their looks. My party had a range of ages and skin tones, and everyone looked beautiful! She was also a godsend when the stresses of the day were getting to me, such a calm reassuring voice kept me sane and in the moment! By the end of the morning she was exchanging numbers with my girls and chatting like we had all known her for years. I’m not sure I would made it through the day without her awesome skills and presence. I’m so thankful and happy that she was a part of my day! I can’t recommend her highly enough!

While Essie was already booked on our wedding day, she connected us with her team who made us feel beautiful and flawless for our big day in September 2023. We knew we wanted makeup on our wedding day that still allowed us to look like ourselves but more elevated. Our makeup trial was a great experience getting to meet Carolyn and we loved how beautiful and confident we felt. Between the trial and wedding day, I had some tweaks I wanted to make and had some questions about products, etc., and Carolyn was so quick to reply and assure me that she had all my notes, updates, and everything would be perfect, which it was. Leading up to our wedding day, Nadia (the office manager) was so organized and easy to communicate with. She also helped us create a day-of schedule. Daniela was our second stylist who was so lovely, and she did an amazing job making our bridesmaids, mothers and grandmother look and feel gorgeous. Courtney, the makeup assistant, was a huge help in getting all of us prepped and ready for makeup and such a calming presence! Carolyn perfectly executed both our bridal styles and we are so happy with our decision to go with Essie Cohen! We also used Britt Bridal for hair and highly recommend using them together as they've worked together in the past and work so well with on another. Also leading up to the wedding, Essie surprised us and mailed both of us beauty kits to help stay calm the week leading up to the wedding which was such an amazing little touch and why it's important to support small business owners. We're truly so grateful for the entire Essie Cohen team!!!

Everyone looked like themselves, but enhanced and glowing. Essie made us all feel like princesses and supermodels, and I can't say enough good things. Do not hesitate. BOOK HER NOW. She won Best of Westchester for a reason, and her professionalism and generally positive vibe and demeanor made it a ten star experience!

I was going for! My sisters and friends do wear makeup and know a lot more and were equally happy with their services. My friend even said it was the first time she didn't redo her makeup after getting it done! You spend a lot of time getting ready and you want someone lovely and supportive like Essie and her team around!!

I was the luckiest girl in the world that she was available on my wedding day to not only do my makeup as well as some friends and family, but also to start my day on the best note and get us pumped up for the big day ahead! My makeup was FLAWLESS! After looking at myself in the mirror I quite literally said out loud "Wow!" Essie and her team are the most fun and organized, keeping everyone on track and sticking to the timeline, while bringing out all of the natural beauty. My makeup was flawless through the tears & sweat from dancing so hard :) Essie is quick and efficient & fixed my sisters makeup so many times without one complaint. day-of would be seamless. Karina was my makeup artist and OMG was she amazing. My bridal party looked stunning and I couldn't have been happier with how I looked. I am picky with makeup and am not used to wearing a lot, but Karina nailed it. She perfectly recreated the look we landed on during our trial. Karina was also such a joy to be around - really down to earth and a calming presence (the vibe you want on your wedding day!). I am so grateful to Karina for making me feel beautiful on my wedding day, and to Essie for running such a professional, thoughtful business with the most talented artists!

was the first vendor I booked as soon as I secured my date because I knew I had to have her! She is so talented and does the perfect natural makeup, which not easy to find! When I've had other people do my make up I always end up taking some off, or tweaking myself, but every time Essie does my make up, it is flawless the first time! Me and all my bridesmaid were so happy with how our makeup turned out. PLUS - Essies energy is exactly what you want on your wedding day! Calm, efficient, friendly, excited - it really felt like another friend was with us all as we were getting ready.

The makeup looked fantastic in the pictures and I knew I made the right decision. As the wedding approached in Jan 2021, NYC had a second surge of COVID cases. Essie had no problem taking extra precautions of getting COVID tested, wearing a mask, making sure the make-up was sanitized, and willing to still do onsite makeup. Also, she is fun to be around, made all the women in my wedding party comfortable, gave recommendations on make up looks (including urging someone away from the dark purple lipstick color, thank you!!), and even skeptical bridesmaids were impressed. I highly recommend Essie and hands down will use her again in the future.

My makeup day of was fabulous and it came out well in photographs. The only makeup retouching I did that night was for my lips (you know, because eating and drinking) with her provided kit. She gives an incredible kit with things like Shout wipes which I needed after I went outside in the rain with my dress.

My mom, who is normally super picky about makeup, was gushing about how much she loved her makeup. I looked and felt like the most beautiful version of myself. Also, side note, my wedding was during a heat wave, as in 100 degrees outside kind of heat wave, and my makeup held the entire time. That is a miracle in and of itself. Another thing that was great about Essie was her professionalism. She is an excellent communicator and very organized. She proactively reached out about setting up schedules for day of, sent over super helpful tips and tricks to help prep for the big day, and even gave me a great touch up kit to take to my ceremony. She was always on time and responsive (not something that is a given in the wedding industry). I really appreciated how on top of it she was, as she definitely helped alleviate a lot of stress. Essie was an absolute joy to work with, and if I ever need my makeup done professionally again in the future, I would return to her.

We had a fantastic trial and I didn't have to change anything - she NAILED IT!
