Our work with Ethan Lord dates back to when my husband designed my engagement ring (without my knowing!). My engagement ring includes the stone from my husband's maternal grandmother's ring, so he was already going to need custom work. I also had a very specific style that would be tricky to design for without my knowing. My husband brought in the original ring, photos from Instagram of the jeweler I liked, and a photo of me and ended up working with them to design the most PERFECT ring - and the jeweler guessed my ring size just by looking at the photo! Honestly, when he gave me the engagement ring I was speechless because it was exactly what I would have created if I designed it. We then of course worked with them on our wedding bands, mine being custom to fit the custom engagement ring. Working with Erika was truly amazing - she is brilliant and designed a gorgeous band to complement the engagement ring. I also brought in a delicate charm bracelet that I wanted them to update and it came out beautifully. We have since recommended them to other friends getting engaged/married. Their pieces are truly beautiful and their staff is so lovely. I cannot speak more highly of Ethan Lord - especially if you are having something custom made!

Erika helped us design my engagement ring using a family heirloom diamond and colorful side stones that we sourced from Ethan Lord. We wound up having 3 different appointments to design my dream ring. The entire process was incredibly effortless and, most importantly, fun! They really go the extra mile - creating 3d renderings of the ring, along with a wax prototype, to ensure every last detail is to your liking. We also purchased our wedding bands here. As with the engagement ring, our bands were made to order. They ensured the diamonds in my wedding band matched the antique diamond in my engagement ring. I have received so many compliments on my rings - because they are truly stunning!

Ethan Lord Jewelers and especially Lauren Z. did an absolutely amazing job helping me redesign and resize my heirloom engagement ring. We combined multiple elements from different rings including the original setting and they executed it flawlessly. I seriously could not be happier and could not recommend them enough!!

Where to start? Every interaction we had with Ethan Lord Jewelers was stellar from the 1st time we walked in to the moment we received the ring and thereafter. The vibe you get walking in is that they are truly excited to see you and everyone enjoys being there. We worked with Erika in creating our custom engagement ring with a specific design we had in mind and she was the absolute epitome of top-notch customer service. She patiently guided us through the process as we asked numerous questions, provided knowledge and thoughtful opinions (always with no pressure) and was always kind and lively. We shopped around at a good number of jewelers before deciding on Ethan Lord, which stood out clearly from the rest, and Erika was a significant factor in that decision. We were extremely satisfied with the ring and highly recommend Ethan Lord. Bonus points for their VIP treatment of our two small Pomeranians that they all doted on!

We really enjoyed working with Ethan Lord and love our final pieces. We worked with Lauren on our wedding bands and she was professional and knowledgable. Our rings came in early and they were able to store them for us in their vault until our wedding week. Each piece was beautifully packaged and the quality is impeccable. Danny worked a miracle for my wedding bands!! I had a very specific vision that I wanted to use diamonds from my grandmother's ring in two twin wedding bands. What I didn't realize is that the diamonds were very old, cut in a different style than my engagement ring and were all different sizes. Woof! But Danny made it work! He custom-designed the setting to match my engagement ring and perfectly fulfilled my vision. I get so many compliments on my bands and their family history makes them all the more special.

My fiance recently purchased my engagement ring from Ethan Lord and had a wonderful experience. Erica took the time to talk him through the entire process, stayed in his budget and was very helpful in all the planning. After he proposed i went in for sizing and she was so thoughtful and welcoming to me, knowing exactly who I was and all about Jake. We are also planning to get our wedding bands from Ethan Lord.

My fiance and I really enjoyed working with Ethan Lord. We worked with Eric throughout the process. My fiance had more face time with him, but I did get my band there as well so I worked with him on that. We both appreciated that he was straightforward and personable at the same time. If something wasn't going to work, he didn't dance around it. EL truly made the process easy!

Ethan Lord provided such an elegant and amazing experience for our first time ring shopping. We worked with Erika, who took more than two hours with us, patiently and thoroughly explaining every aspect of an engagement ring - from settings, metals, and, of course, the diamonds. We didn't know how little we knew! We now feel educated and confident in making a decision, and we trust that Ethan Lord will provide us with a beautiful, high quality ring. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly, but not pushy, which is wonderful when you are making a big decision. A friend of mine also received her engagement ring from Ethan Lord (it's gorgeous) and her fiance had nothing but great things to say about his experience with them. I should also mention that the shop itself is beautifully appointed and has a nice bar area, where they offer you complimentary beverages. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ethan Lord - and Erika - to anyone!

We stopped into Ethan Lord when we started looking at engagement rings. We sat down with Dan Gerut and ended up buying my engagement ring and both of our wedding bands. Dan is knowledgable, experienced, and attentive. I would recommend him to friends and family.

Ethan Lord is amazing to work with. Their consultant, Daniel, went above and beyond in helping us find a wedding band for my husband. He was professional, kind, engaging, and extremely responsive. He was so helpful in assisting me when it came time to purchase his ring and for getting it specially engraved as a surprise. I cannot recommend Ethan Lord enough!

My husband picked out my ring here over the course of three visits with a very attentive and non-pushy sales specialist. Of course I was so excited when he proposed, but the story of him taking the time to find out about styles, diamond quality, and design my ring was even more special. The pricing seemed very reasonable with the apprasal being double of what my husband paid. When it was getting closer to the wedding, we went in together to pick out his ring. The variety was very nice as well as the obvious dedication to lifelong service. My husband's ring actually broke on our honeymoon (extremely rare, lucky us!) and they sent him packaging to return it, met with him to make sure of the proper size, and sent him a new one in no time. I also had my ring re-sized slightly smaller since it kept twisting around and they sent it to me at school in another state without batting an eye. I am really impressed with their dedication to taking care of their customers for a reasonable price and I highly recommend them. You will likely have trouble parking / have to pay $20 for each visit, but it IS downtown Chicago...

My fiance went into Ethan Lord with an idea of what they wanted; which the woman who helped him (Devin) talked him out of - Thank Goodness! The ring came out perfect and is just what I wanted and would have picked myself! He and Devin designed my ring - the only thing I told him was to make sure the diamond was square - and I can't believe how spot-on it was to my 'dream ring'. Not only that but they got the sizing perfect and didn't have anything to go by (I don't know how they did it). We went back for our wedding bands and they did a phenomenal job. They were very professional, timely and more than helpful. I would definitely recommend.

We NEVER EVER thought that we would be able to work with a ring designer to get our bands. We thought for sure we'd go to one of the bigger stores and go from there. Then, my mom had about a carrot of diamonds to use in my band, and the game changed a bit. We were able to work with Ethan Lord per a recommendation from my mom, and recommendations from Yelp, etc. We designed my ring with Dallas and she helped my husband choose his own special ring (not specially designed). When we went back just about 6 weeks later our design came to life--and it is more wonderful than I ever could've imagined! The hand design and engraving is beautiful and I can't stop looking at it. Since we had diamonds and what not, it's tough to say how their value is if you didn't have anything to work with--but I can guarantee it will be worth it!

We worked with Larry to create my engagement ring and both of our wedding bands and we're extremely pleased with the process and the results. I pretty much knew what I wanted in terms of shape, carats and setting, but we were very uneducated in the other three C's. Larry took the time to explain and show us examples of stones of various quality, never trying to up-sell us on aspects that weren't important to us. Also, since they design all of the rings themselves, we got exactly what we wanted in the settings, after giving Larry examples of things we did and didn't like. The process was relatively quick and both Larry and Erica were very responsive to questions. They even cleaned my engagement ring right before the wedding so it would be nice and sparkly! I have referred two friends to Larry and they have both been pleased with the results as well.

I feel that because we didn't purchase an engagement ring from Ethan Lord, we weren't top priority. To them it was only a wedding band, not a big deal. So I guess if you are buying an engagement ring, they will treat you much better, a wedding band apparently isn't a big enough purchase. Customer service is non existent. They take forever to reply to emails and voice mails. They promised me something in 2 weeks time, it took 3. I had to constantly follow up. They returned my engagement ring to me dirty and forgot to engrave the bands. Thank you Windy City for engraving my bands and cleaning up my ring. Ethan Lord was the jeweler where I bought my then fiancee's engagement ring. I was very happy. When it came to the wedding ring, we consulted them but also shopped around. Based on a large price difference, we decided to go with another vendor. Later, the sales person at our chosen vendor wasn't able to deliver. Eric at Ethan Lords was very helpful and provide us many alternatives in trying to help us salvage the situation. Because the bad news from the other vendor came 5 days before we were to leave for our wedding in Australia, what Eric could do was limited. Nevertheless, he tried everything he could to help us and never made us feel obligated or pressured at any stage. We want to thank Ethan Lord and Eric for their support.

We are so happy with Larry at Ethan Lord Jewelers that we've already recommended him to all of our friends! My grandparents owned a jewelry store so my boyfriend (now husband) knew the engagement ring he bought me would come under heavy scrutiny. I get compliments all the time. The custom work they do is amazing. I even have diamonds on the prongs. My ring sparkles like none I've ever seen (even ones with more diamonds). We got our wedding bands there too and not only were they able to perfectly match mine to my engagement ring, they kept a mold so I never had it out of my possession. Larry went through each type of ring for my husband too along with the pros and cons so we could make an informed decision. They even engraved it for free. The customer service at Ethan Lord is unmatched!

Larry at Ethan Lord made my husband and I feel right at home when we first came in to talk about my engagement ring almost 2 years ago.
