Ethan Yang Photography

I saw Ethan Yang’s photos, they blew me away. The images were depicting the best angles of the wedding and really highlighted certain elements well. Ethan is a talent armed with the ability to capture light in the most flattering way, posing the subject effectively, and creating the best composition. There is something special about the way the photos compared to other works from other photographers... it looked intimate but not unattainable. I was never fond of photography that made the couple look like they’re the only ones left in a post apocalyptic world or something that’s super fairytale dramatic. I feel that Ethan’s artistic eye allows the photo to shine with authentic storytelling. I booked with Ethan through just a couple of email exchanges and never met in person until the big day. I don’t have any expectation and tried to gave him full creative liberties as a professional to do what he does best. What I didn’t expect was how well he was able to navigate around large groups of bridal party plus Asian elders who may not want to pose or do what he wanted them to do. He was patient, empathetic and knew how to maximize the time and gain trust from the elders. My father even really stepped back from his usual know-it-all self and said to me “he really knows how to do this!” Ethan guided every person in the wedding party, how to pose, what’s the best angle, how to stand, how to deal with a tired over-smiled face with so much patience and positivity. He made the day so smooth and put me at ease. Being a designer, I can see how much hard work he’s put into the wedding day and made it looks so effortless and easy. I know the photos will come out amazing. Karis also put in a lot of extra work being Ethan’s assistant throughout the day, from styling my invitations, dresses, to holding up lighting during sunset. What a dynamic duo and perfect in every way. Thank you Ethan and Karis <3

rt, and style, design, and a beautiful eye for capturing "the moment" in addition to the skillful physical components of an image, then hire Ethan and Karis. Not only are they amazingly skilled and talented (Ethan went one best private art colleges in the country!), but they're both so incredibly friendly and kind, yet still ridiculously skillful artists dedicated to perfectionism. Even my bridesmaid who does wedding planning and is basically a professional bridesmaid said she was very impressed and that I'd definitely made a great choice. Ethan was lightning fast, too, working hard to capture as much of the day as possible in the most skilled yet unobtrusive way. Basically a photo ninja. They're entirely focused on doing whatever you request, and are intuitive and excellent at "translating" that request into action while providing you with phenomenal photos. We're talking magazine quality here. The stuff they use for wedding ads that are perfected over hours? Ethan can cram this skill that takes most people hours of props and cooperation and perfecting the environment and FINDS it wherever your wedding is and then finds you IN it. Want to feel like your photos could be featured in a wedding magazine? Hire Ethan & Karis. Plus, this couple is as sweet as they are amazingly talented. You just want to be friends with them. I can't tell you how AMAZINGLY accommodating they were to us. I basically contacted them a week before my wedding (it was on a random Wednesday, otherwise I'm sure they'd have been booked!) and they were kind enough to make it work! Normally they said they prep months ahead of time, but still, on the fly, they made it happen. And they did so with an absurd amount of kindness and patience. Ugh, I've run out of space to write! It's not enough, though! Just hire them!

you both looked, the look on your parent's, friends and family's faces, the quirky dance moves, the tears during toasts, the space that you were too high on adrenaline to see all the details of, etc. Pictures can help you relive those moments over and over again. You cannot pick a better team than Ethan and Karis to capture those details. If you want perfectionists with an abundance of creative ideas, a team that's polite, funny and unobtrusive (seriously, they completely blended into the background at the wedding), this is your team. If you want beautiful photos that you and your family will fawn over that include the traditional shots, but are unique in their play on lighting and angles, this is your team. Book them. Don't. Wait. I cannot stress enough how incredible they are!

. Ethan has an incredible eye and ability to turn wedding photography into art. Aside from his innate talent, Ethan is also so warm, cheerful, and energetic - which is important when you have a huge wedding party to deal with! As an added bonus, Ethan's wife Karis (and sometimes 2nd shooter) is awesome as well! Ethan Yang Photography is one of a kind! Highly recommend!
