it was amazing and such a good price. they really took care of us from start to finish.
SHADY!
We emailed and visited the park in January of this year (2017) about a wedding on JUne 9th of 2018. We were told that we would need to be there on the day of our wedding one year out to book it, and to be there first to make sure we would get it. We took off work and planned to be there early that morning to make sure we were first. The day before (today, June 8th!) we get an email saying that both the pavilion and the lodge have been rented for the entire weekend. Now we have NOTHING one year out from what was supposed to be our wedding date and we are scrambling trying to find a venue! We had NO fair chance to book our day because they allow anyone to book subsequent days MORE than a year out, which should be against their policy, but not if you have the money to save the whole weekend at once, I guess! We were NOT warned that this would be a possibility otherwise we would have booked somewhere else 6 MONTHS ago! The only thing we were told was to be early on the day and we would be fine! There should at least be a waiting list of some sort, since we visited in JANUARY and were not allowed to book then. Also, apparently they only allow 2 weddings per month at their pavilion, so if you don't get your date you are SOL if anyone else has booked the the previous weekend. RIDICULOUS.
Thanks for nothing!!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed having our wedding at Mahoney State Park. We had our ceremony outside the Riverview Lodge with the river to our backs. They have a small fee for outdoor weddings in the park. We had our wedding in the rain, which was perfect, but they do have areas you can use as a plan b if you encounter bad weather. Our reception was in the Riverview Lodge. This venue is perfect! All wooden interior, windows everywhere, bathrooms, TV, kitchen, fireplace, tables and chairs, and a deck wrapping around the back. The Riverview Lodge holds up to 125 people comfortably. We had about 90 guests and it was perfect with lots of extra room for the dance floor. Mahoney State Park also has 2 other venues they rent out for weddings/events that accommodate more people. You are able to use catering through Mahoney State Park or bring in your own. We were able to use our own caterer, bring our own DJ, and also supply our own alcohol. The park quiet hours do begin at 10:00 pm so you have to be cleaned up and out by 10:30 pm at the latest. You are not able to block off rooms for guests but there are plenty of rooms at the lodge and cabins available for your guests to rent. You are also able to pay for everyone's park passes if you so wish. This venue was a dream and I would recommend it to anyone.
My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Riverview Lodge in Mahoney State park. The pricing was incredibly reasonable (about $300 for an enitre day's rental) and we were able to bring in our own catering and DJ for the event. The Riverview Lodge holds about 120 guests, although they have other venues (the main lodge will hold about 200 guests, outdoor areas to hold up to 500 guests) that have greater capacities. Weddings can be done outside in the park, weather permitting. Accommodation is available at the main lodge or by renting out cabins in the park. The only negative aspect of the venue is they are not used to having weddings at their location, so this made it a bit more difficult to work with them on things (i.e. could not reserve a block of rooms for guests, couldn't have "welcome" bags given to guests on arrival).
