One of my biggest wishes for our wedding was to have the best photographer possible. As someone who values aesthetically pleasing and artistically directed 8x12's just as much as my morning coffee, I searched far and wide into the interwebs for the perfect creative. After weeks of searching, Evan finally arrived at my digital doorstep. When I discovered her extremely dreamy work at Brides.com (NBD), I knew she was the one. I don't even want to think about a scenario in which she wasn't available. Thankfully, we never had to. From the initial email exchanges to the official meeting on June 14th, working with Evan was like working with my new super organized, extremely patient, incessantly creative, ridiculously kind BFF. On the day of, I was a very tired bride. Turns out it's wildly difficult to sleep the night before you marry your best friend and drive off into the sunset for a three-month honeymoon. Thankfully, getting the entire day captured was not even slightly a concern of mine because Evan handled EVERYTHING. Shotlist? Covered. Accessories and gown captured like works of art? Check. Candid shots that you'll cherish forever? Done. Laughter? She helps you do that too! One of the things I loved the most about working with Evan was her mysterious ability to blend into the background and yet provide tangible warmth from her presence all at once. When we parted ways the night of our intimate wedding, my family summed it up best: "Evan is so sweet and blended right in...but how did she manage to get that candid shot at the dinner table? We didn't even see her!" I mean, the girl is a super sleuth. Fast-forward 204 days, and I'm printing another image for our gallery wall brought to us by the skilled eyes of Evan Hopman. Ladies, do yourselves a favor and stop your search with Evan. I promise she'll add nothing but joy, magic, and peace to your most special day.

Instagram page after Instagram page I searched. Email after email I sent. So many great talents exist in the market, so how would I pick? When I saw Evan Hopman Photography's page, I was blown away. The true emotion in the photos were almost palpable. The modern atheistic was exactly what I was envisioning for my big day. From intense and intimate moments to being able to capture the beautiful simplicity in every detail, I was blown away! From the first email I sent her, Evan was a pleasure to work with! She is easy going, totally reasonable and very professional. We had multiple phone calls, emails, and texts to discuss wedding day plans and she responded quickly! She even created a wedding day time schedule for photos so that was one less thing I had to think about. Any questions or specific requests that I had were completely answered/granted weeks after booking. On the day of the wedding, she arrived and immediately began taking initiative to create the photos that I wanted. She took every moment to capture even the smallest detail. During family photos, no one was confused or fumbling because she had everyone directed to a tee! During portraits with my now husband (yay!!) she made us feel so comfortable to be ourselves! I wanted our story to be told through our photos, and that is exactly what she did! Later in the day during the reception, she had fun with us while capturing it all along the way. It truly was the best day ever! When we got a few previews the day after the wedding, I was literally in tears. Seeing how beautiful she made the venue, my family, and my husband and I look made me feel so beyond happy! I am in such anticipation to see the rest! Thank you Evan for your professionalism and amazing talent! I made the best decision for my wedding photographer. I would recommend her to anyone that recently got engaged. Or just to anyone! When I think of getting pictures taken, I feel tense, worried about what I'll look like, if I'm smiling, etc, etc... But Evan has such a natural way of capturing the true feeling of the moment you forget she's even there, peeking through her lens, recording every smile, every laugh, every tear. Our wedding photos were amazing and it was 50% because of her (we did have a part to play in it too!). Check out her portfolio and you'll see how amazing she is. us to the perfect spot. As someone who is extremely nervous in front of the camera, I am happy to say that the experience felt natural and fun. You get to take a break from wedding stress and cuddle and have fun with your photographer. Evan has a great sense of humor and had us laughing the whole time which made our photos so much better. She took the best candid shots and what posing she did have us do felt and looked so natural. (I am not a big fan of cheesy posed photos) I actually have more of our engagement photos hung in my house than wedding pictures because although they’re both beautiful and special, Evan was able to capture us exactly as we are, messy and imperfect and laughing and in love. They are some of my most cherished photos. If you love laughing and love and candid moments, she’s the girl for you.

was so very helpful. I live two hours away from the venue and she was familar with the area so she even helped us find a caterer! She was on time and took the most beautiful pictures of our wedding. She was kind and fun and so great. I couldn't be happier with our choice to have her take our pictures!
