I could write a novel on why Evan was the best. First, he met with us a couple times before the wedding to make sure he knew what vision we were looking for, and answered messages quickly and sent us updates often. Second, though he easily worked with any details we gave, we had no clue how weddings worked and weren’t quite sure what we wanted to do. He came up with so many suggestions, ideas and thoughts for the wedding day and created a solid timeline. Day of, he came to say hello, scoped the venue, and started his magic. Through the whole night, Evan was kind, thoughtful, creative, funny, polite, the list could go on! Family though he was the greatest, they loved his personable and friendly demeanor. They were impressed with the way he was flexible and excited with our ideas and jumped into directing photos to make some amazing shots. It felt so easygoing and natural with how he led, but also so organized! We didn’t feel like just another photo session, we could see his care and though put into the whole event. We got a little sneak peak the next day, and we couldn’t believe the crisp, clear pictures. When we got the rest of the photos, they were incredible, it felt like we were reliving the wedding night! There were so many details captured that we missed day of and I’m grateful to have those pictures. He is a wonderful guy and really has a way of putting you at ease, especially if you’re not always comfortable in front of a camera or if your kiddos are not feeling especially cooperative! Evan was truly the perfect choice for our wedding photographer and we can't be happier with the outcome of our photos. We were extremely selective during our search and were specifically looking for someone who could expose photos well during night or daytime and capture all of the bright colors we planned for our wedding. Both our engagement shoot and wedding photos exceeded these expectations and Evan perfectly captured our day in exactly the documentary style we hoped for. Evan was the perfect photographer for our wedding. He provided a beautiful engagement photo session months before the wedding and let us be as creative as we wanted (including hiking up a mountain!), and had a pre-wedding meeting where we reviewed the day's events and timeline. Evan was attentive to all aspects of our wedding the little details we wanted captured. During the actual wedding, Evan was not intrusive, photographed sweet candid moments, and documented the day wonderfully. Evan lets the day, the people, and the vibe speak for itself, never forcing a "photo-op" to happen. I cannot possibly recommend Evan highly enough! I had a last minute change of engagement plans and had to scramble to find a photographer at the last minute. He was incredibly flexible, helped me pick out the perfect spot (as I was only in Tucson for vacation and had never been there), listened to my vision for the proposal, and seamlessly blended in the background as he shot our special moment. Evan photographed our November baseball themed wedding, and he absolutely did amazing! From day one he was easy to reach and communicate with. Evan was great, we are so glad he was our photographer. He did our engagement shoot and our wedding day pictures. And both came out so great, he definitely considered what we asked for and delivered. We found Evan through recommendation from our friend’s wedding, we looked him up and liked what we saw. For our engagement shoot we had some specific asks, and Evan stepped up to the challenge and made it happen. Once he knew what we wanted, he figured out how and when to make sure that we got the shot we wanted. We got so many compliments for our engagement shoot, in particular our save-the-dates precisely because he made our vision come true. For our wedding day, we had Evan and a videographer, and they worked so well together to make sure the final product was amazing. Evan was such a help during our wedding day, making sure we were not running behind schedule, and even helped reorganize our First Look to make sure that the moment was picture perfect! And it was!! Some of the images he got, we don’t even know how he got them! So good!! Evan’s style is laid back and candid shots. My husband really liked that Evan provides all photos of the wedding day, he researched and this was something that he did not like that other photographers limited. Evan provides a digital album, a USB, and print allowance based on package. I really liked that he was there for me, he took in all I said and followed my lead and did what was needed to get as close to what I imagined. Some general bridal advice, always be direct to your vendors about what you want, what poses, what you like most, what you want to capture, what theme you want to go with, and such. Your photographer, Evan here, will do what you ask, he is there to get your wedding pictures, not theirs. Without direction you never know what you are going to get, so help them to help you.

Evan was a God send to say the least. Two days before our wedding our original photographers canceled on us and my husband and I were left scrambling to find a new one. My husband called Evan and he happened to be free the day of the wedding. We met with him the next day which was the day before our wedding . As a bride, I was a mix of emotions and very leery to hire anyone due to the fact we were scheduled to get married the next day. Evan reassured me that everything would be fine and that the photos would turn out great. Believe me when I say, I am so happy our original photographers canceled on us. Evan did more then just take pictures, he captured memorable moments throughout our entire wedding day. I look at my photos and I’m taken back to that day. My entire bridal party, as well as many of my guest commented me on how professional and friendly he was to work with. He went above and beyond every expectation I had and was amazing to work with. He is extremely friendly and easy going. Evan got us some sample photos within days and we had our proofs in no time at all. With Evan we weren’t just given our photos on a thumb drive and left behind. He makes even receiving the photos special and was there to answer any questions I had when ordering my prints. I will definitely be keeping Evan in mind for future photo needs and would recommend him to all.

Evan was absolutely amazing from day one. He knew which moments from the ceremony/ reception were important to us and captured them beautifully. Our venue recommended him and we could not have been happier. My husband and I were married right in beginning of the pandemic and Evan understood how important it was for us to have our day. I cannot say enough great things about Evan and his work! Neither my husband or I had ever had professional photos taken so we decided to have an engagement shoot in hopes of being more comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day. We chose to have our shoot on Mount Lemmon and asked Evan to pick out a couple spots since we had never been there. He ended up finding four incredible areas and even a beautiful area full of leaves that were changing colors for fall, we didn’t even know that existed in Tucson! We asked him to give us pose suggestions and he was so great “coaching” us through the photo shoot. As we got more comfortable we didn’t need as much help with posing but he would still offer a suggestion when we needed it. We had so much fun and were so excited to work with him again on our wedding day. I don’t even remember seeing him during the ceremony but he got so many great pictures and just blended in. We wanted to go to a different location between our ceremony and our reception that had special meaning to us. Evan happily followed us there and hiked probably around two miles with us to get to the areas where we wanted to take pictures. Even in a location he had never been he immediately knew where exactly where to position us for the best shot. He is so easy to work with and it feels like you are just hanging out with a friend the whole time. We were so happy with how quickly he got our photos to us both times and couldn’t believe how great they turned out! I am SO happy Evan was able to take our wedding photos because I can’t imagine them turning out any better than they did. Our families were so impressed with our wedding photos and I know Evan will be the photographer for all of our special events in the future.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, Evan is who you want-- and need to hire! He perfectly understood what we were imagining for our photos capturing the big day. Evan was our photographer for our engagement shoot and wedding photos. I am not exaggerating when I say he was the best vendor we worked with during the entire wedding process. He was easy to communicate with, quick to respond to emails, kind and friendly on every interaction, and produced beautiful photos. We booked Evan because of all the reasons above, and because we wanted his more natural, authentic style of photography. He got some great couple pictures of us with just some slight suggestions on what we should do, never over posing us. After we did the formal family and couple shoots, he melted into the background of the wedding, completely allowing us to enjoy our day, while doing a great job of capturing our wedding and some really beautiful, natural moments between us and our guests. If you want someone who does a mix of naturally ‘posed’ couples pictures and someone to capture your day without intruding on it, Evan is your guy. We absolutely loved working with him and our wedding photos.

Evan was everything I was looking for in a wedding photographer. His portfolio is elegant yet accessible, like you can see yourself in his frames, but it’s an elevated version of yourself just by virtue of his composition and lighting. I could barely recognize myself in the mirror after having my makeup done for my wedding, but I see my best self smiling out of the pictures that he took that day. I selected him as part of an inclusive package at Saguaro Buttes, so I’m not sure what his normal pricing is, however, whatever his cut of the package pricing was probably charity work that he can write off for taxes compared to what his caliber of performance and delivery should charge. (Side note, if you are getting married at Saguaro Buttes with one of their packages, PICK EVAN, don’t even bother looking through the portfolios of the other photographers, just trust me). All that to say, his services were well worth twice what I probably ended up paying for them. Evan was very responsive and flexible, even meeting my husband and I last minute between Christmas and New Years to go over options and meet/greet. Like, 13/10 customer care people. I would place Evan right in the middle of the Bossypants/laissez faire spectrum of wedding photographers that I’ve witnessed (also as a bridesmaid). He was gently directive during family shots and didn’t fuss posing people forever. I barely noticed him during the ceremony or the rest of the evening, but when you look at the pictures, he was obviously *everywhere at once*… like a photo ninja. He did a great job candidly photographing people throughout the reception as well, and it was fun to look back and see aspects of the party/wedding that we weren’t directing witnessing. And, somehow, he pulled off a miracle and got really cute pictures of the 7 plus sugar crazed nieces and nephews and got them all looking at the camera and smiling? Wow, this man either had extra cupcakes up his sleeve, or is a child herding genius. I had told Evan that the scenery around SB was very important to me, and wow, he made us look like desert fawns and fairies getting married in our natural settings. It also helped that we had a monsoon roll through super dramatically, he captured every billowing cloud, saguaro, ocotillo, and HOLY COW YA’LL, THE SUNSET PICTURES. I can’t describe them, so I’ll just post. Evan is a natural setting photographer savant. Also, since he photographs a lot at SB, he is very comfortable and knows the exact angles and setups for everything, there’s no fussing around setting up a shot. He has everything down to a science. …. If it sounds like I’m raving, it’s because I am. He is that good…. If you’ve read this far and aren’t convinced yet, just meet with him.

Evan was professional and accomodating. He took care of everything photo related, so I didn't have to worry about anything.. He was very patient with my unending questions, and made the entire process an extremely positive experience. We got our photos from him a few weeks after the wedding, and are totally blown away. There were so many fantastic photos for a night that went by too quick! He does beautiful work, and captured so many special moments that we are happy to have in photographs. Amazing. Will hire him for future opportunities.

Evan Robold takes beautiful photographs. We cannot be happier with the pictures of our wedding. We originally found Evan by searching online for wedding photographers in Tucson. His portfolio really stood out because every photo had great lighting, even in tricky lighting situations. When we first met to interview, he was friendly, professional, and personable. Better yet, his style matched what we were looking for - someone who would take great candid pictures while being out of the way and not being intrusive. We had a great engagement photo session with hundreds of great pictures over 3-4 hours! At the wedding, he was like a photographer ninja, capturing photos from multiple angles while not being seen. The photographs are beautiful - great lighting and composition and timing. He and Shannon captured so many wonderful moments, we could not be happier. On a more personal note, my mother passed away less than a month and a half later, and the photos we have from the wedding are really treasured with her happy and captured in many great moments including our last family photo together, dancing with me as part of the mother son dance, and dancing with my dad, her husband of 50 years. She couldn't make it to the dance floor to dance with dad so they danced at their table, but Evan was attentive and aware enough to capture a very touching moment which we treasure. The only thing we feel Evan could work on is he direction and organization during the family "set" photos. This includes directing how people set up but also detail direction like "fix your hair." With that being said, we just have so many wonderful photos we are really overwhelmed and one of the best decisions you could make while planning your wedding is to book Evan early and for many hours!

I cannot say enough good things about Evan! He is talented, professional, classy, kind, well-dressed, punctual, flexible and easy-going. He generally works alone, but he is able to capture every important facial expression and moment in your wedding! I couldn't be happier with his service, skill, and the pictures he took at my wedding! Aside from all this, what I liked the most is that he blends in and stays out of the way so people don't ever realize there is a photographer at your wedding. He is amazingly talented. My photos are gorgeous and I would recommend him to everyone. He exceeded my expectations!

Evan was very professional as well as calm (even though our photo timeline fell by the waist side). Always prompt with answering any questions/emails, which was wonderful since we were planning out of state. He also researched/scouted the venue before the actual wedding date to find the best spots for photographs so there was little to not delay moving from one photo opportunity to the next. We had access to our photos, digitally, by the end of the week after the wedding and the disc followed shortly thereafter. Amazing photographs--if we lived in state, we would use his services again.

The service we received from Evan included an engagement session and 6 hours of coverage on the day of our wedding at the Desert Museum in Tucson. At our engagement session six months prior we were very impressed with how passionate Evan is about photographing weddings and discovering what we were all about as a couple. He was always professional and prompt in communicating with us every step along the way. We felt he was very prepared for managing the flow of events at our wedding and getting the shots we most wanted. Evan is very intuitive about where and when great shots will occur but is also very unobtrusive in obtaining them. And his final product, including the arrangement of photos and printed materials offered is of the highest quality. Overall, we highly recommend him for your wedding or any other event you would like to capture in photos!

Evan did a great job. He seemed to always know where to be to capture the special moments. We also had Shannon as a 2nd photographer who was fantastic as well, and good at coming up with fun ideas. My one recommendation would be to have an engagement photo session with him (which we didn't do) to get to know each other better before the wedding.

My husband and I selected Evan Robold as our wedding photographer, and we were not disappointed. From our first meeting, Evan was receptive to our ideas and able to answer all of our questions. He showed some impressive samples from his portfolio and was also knowledgable about our wedding venue. Finally, he never pressured us into any sort of commitment, which we appreciated. On the day of our wedding, he showed up promptly, as promised, and immediately began taking pictures. He took pictures at all stages, from getting ready, to the ceremony, and all important parts of the reception. He took over 500 pictures during the night, so when we received them we got a pretty decent representation of our day. Furthermore, it seemed as if his pictures told the story of our day. After searching high and low through internet sites and friend recommendations, we stumbled across Evan. We instantly feel in love with his work and portfolio. Evan was really great to work with from beginning to end. He is super professional, punctual, and easy going. We started off with an engagement session, which turned out to be a blast! As an out-of-town bride trying to book all of my vendors from halfway across the country, I found Evan after scrolling through pages of google results for Tucson wedding photographers. It seems like there are a lot of great, really expensive wedding photographers in Tucson, and then there are some cheap photographers whose photos are, honestly, not that great. Evan is that magical middle ground: his work is beautiful, easily among the best in Tucson, but his prices are also reasonable enough that you don't blow the whole rest of your wedding budget on your photos. Plus he's super professional and polished while also being completely friendly, approachable, and down-to-earth. Ok, so that's why I chose him initially. Now let me say that meeting with him once we were in town and working with him on the day of the wedding itself all confirmed my feeling that he was the right photographer for us. He has a very centered, calming presence, and nothing (weird weather, angsty bride - ahem) throws him off. He's also really open to what kind of photos *you* want to do - we didn't really want any of the silly staged photos ("the groomsmen all throw the bride up in the air! Ha ha!") and he was totally fine with that. And then there are the photos themselves, which we received just a couple of weeks after the wedding. They're just gorgeous! He's able to capture light in really extraordinary ways; he knows how to grab moments where people have beautiful expressions on their faces; he's good at the details, too (some of my favorite pictures are close-ups of my bouquet, the food, etc.). Also? I do not smile very well for photos (usually I look snide, or skeptical, or slightly nuts...what can I say) - but somehow he got a whole bunch of photos with me smiling beautifully. I mean, it was my wedding day, but still. I'm impressed. In short: everybody should hire Evan, because he is awesome. You won't be disappointed!

Evan went above and beyond to transform my wedding day into memories that will last a lifetime! I am really happy to share our experience with Evan as our wedding photographer with all couples listening, to let them know what is possible for them in capturing their special day. In searching for a photographer, I looked at the websites and photobooks of somewhere between 30-40 photographers before finding and choosing Evan. Evan's were the only photos that moved me to the point of tears and mind you, I was looking at people I didn't know! Because my husband and I come from opposite sides of the country and I have family and friends overseas, we decided to have a very intimate wedding of immediate family and a couple of dear friends only. Because of this, I had it in my mind that the photography was so important because I wanted the photos to capture as much as possible, the essence of who my husband and I are to each other, who are family is to us, not just for our sake but also for our family and friends who weren't there with us. The resounding comment I have gotten from everyone is they see the joy and the love present and that "they felt like they were there" looking at the photos. That connected all of us in a way that is very special and important to me. In addition to having seen his impressive work beforehand, from our first interaction and since, Evan's professionalism, his listening and clear communication, his true caring and commitment to what he does, left me totally confident everything would be great. What an understatement. He and his work surpassed all my expectations. On that day, his calm, warm, kind, happy and fun demeanor and his high level of professionalism and skill were so wonderful and reassuring. We had FUN and it was all so peaceful and flowed! My husband and I could just BE and be in the moment with each other and fully enjoy our wedding day and the people we love most. All the joy, love and happiness we felt, and everything that was beautiful, was captured. Evan is a true artist with an eye for love. I could go on and on but one final thing I want to share is that because of the cold weather the night of our wedding, we had to leave our beautiful outdoor reception to go indoors sooner than I had anticipated. I wanted so much for us to enjoy our reception outdoors. At that moment, I had to just let it all go and stay focused on what was most important. When we got the photos, my heart just overflowed at what I saw. Every single precious moment was there, and the beautiful reception with the candlelit table underneath lanterns hanging from the trees was captured in all its beauty in a way that looked magical. Nothing was missed. These were the best photos of our lives. We consider Evan a friend and will ask him to take our family portraits going forward. I am so thankful we found him and that he is out there doing what he is meant to be doing in the world – capturing in the most beautiful way the love and happiness of family and friends. I cannot begin to tell you how pleased I am with the service I received from Evan Robold Photography. I had a consult with him very far in advance (because I am a super planner) to discuss my wedding and the pictures that I had in mind for my event. Not only did he come up with better ideas than what I had in mind but he was prompt, and prepared with his laptop to take notes of everything. He gave us different options for how long we wanted to book him for, and different things to keep in mind the day of. We booked him for the maximum amount possible and he came to my mom’s house the morning of the wedding to take pictures while we were getting ready which was super important to me. Evan was very prompt and had everything he needed with him. Not only does he have the best personality but he is super calm which is what every bride needs the day of her wedding. I just got my pictures back and I could not be more thrilled. I wish I had a tenth of the creativeness that he has. He has such an eye for things going on and I have the most amazing shots. All of my friends and family that have seen them have said they are by far the best wedding pictures they have ever seen!

I recently had Evan photograph my wedding. He also did my engagement pictures. He was willing to travel out of town for my engagement pictures which a lot of photographers won’t do. For my wedding he was on time and so calm. He assured me that he would take care of things and to just enjoy my day. He was so creative. When I received my pictures back I was so happy. They all came out fantastic! I had a friend tell me that they were the best she had ever seen. He was funny and personable.
