hey did not live up to the expectations.
Before I explain, I want to emphasize that Rob Crozier and his team are amazing musicians. The problem we encountered, was not a lack of talent, but rather, an inability to deliver what they committed themselves to.
Prior to signing the contract, I had explicitly asked Rob if he would be comfortable emceeing, or if he'd prefer if I hired someone else, but he agreed to be the MC for an additional fee. I happily typed up and emailed him a wedding reception script with a detailed timeline upon his request.
For anyone thinking of hiring EventJazz for their wedding reception, I recommend looking for a third party to emcee because that is not their strength. Rob kept checking in with my husband and I during the reception, even though I had provided a detailed schedule and flow of events with time stamps and all. There were awkward silent pauses at times and it didn't feel like it flowed well.
The worst part, however, was the Mother Son dance. Rob and the two other musicians completely butchered the song, to the point that it was incomprehensible. The song that my mother-in-law and husband chose to dance to was, "I Hope You Dance", by Lee Ann Womack. Again, prior to the reception, I, knowing and understanding that this song does not exactly fit the jazz genre, had asked Rob if it would be easier to simply connect a phone tp play the song off a speaker, but he said he and his team would be able to "pull it off". Sadly, he wasn't able to deliver and a very special moment was ruined.
I hope this review is helpful for other people looking to book Eventjazz for their wedding reception. Like I said earlier, they are very talented, and the music they perform is excellent. Rob is also very professional in his communication. However, I would just recommend that you hire an MC and and triple check that they can perform every song on your list.

they were perfectly within our budget. My husband and I searched for and listened to several other bands and they were either too expense for not our style. Eventjazz made our night so memorable. We were told my several of our guests that our wedding was the best wedding that they had ever been to and I attribute that to Eventjazz. They set the mood perfectly and were easily able to keep up with the changing pace and transitions of the evening. If we are ever in need of a band again, we would most definitely go with Eventjazz.
