When we booked Eventjazz for our black tie wedding reception we were confident and very excited to have found, what seemed like, the perfect jazz trio for our special day. Sadly, t...
hey did not live up to the expectations.
Before I explain, I want to emphasize that Rob Crozier and his team are amazing musicians. The problem we encountered, was not a lack of talent, but rather, an inability to deliver what they committed themselves to.
Prior to signing the contract, I had explicitly asked Rob if he would be comfortable emceeing, or if he'd prefer if I hired someone else, but he agreed to be the MC for an additional fee. I happily typed up and emailed him a wedding reception script with a detailed timeline upon his request.
For anyone thinking of hiring EventJazz for their wedding reception, I recommend looking for a third party to emcee because that is not their strength. Rob kept checking in with my husband and I during the reception, even though I had provided a detailed schedule and flow of events with time stamps and all. There were awkward silent pauses at times and it didn't feel like it flowed well.
The worst part, however, was the Mother Son dance. Rob and the two other musicians completely butchered the song, to the point that it was incomprehensible. The song that my mother-in-law and husband chose to dance to was, "I Hope You Dance", by Lee Ann Womack. Again, prior to the reception, I, knowing and understanding that this song does not exactly fit the jazz genre, had asked Rob if it would be easier to simply connect a phone tp play the song off a speaker, but he said he and his team would be able to "pull it off". Sadly, he wasn't able to deliver and a very special moment was ruined.
I hope this review is helpful for other people looking to book Eventjazz for their wedding reception. Like I said earlier, they are very talented, and the music they perform is excellent. Rob is also very professional in his communication. However, I would just recommend that you hire an MC and and triple check that they can perform every song on your list.
We booked Brian as our pianist for our wedding through Eventjazz. Rob was easy to work with to get everything set up. Everything went well and I would recommend booking through the...

The jazz trio was awesome! Everyone loved it and thought it was a unique touch to the wedding. Sounded great and easy to work with - I recommend!
EventJazz, Rob, was great to work with. He was SUPER responsive. We went up to Weber's to watch them perform before booking. We loved the samples he sent over and the many choices ...
for various ensembles. Having EventJazz at our wedding gave us just the right touch of class in the venue. We were out taking pictures during most of the performance, but I heard wonderful things from our guests, and I know they were on point! I highly recommend working with Rob and his team of talented musicians. The price was also very fair. Super great to work with. Really can't ask for much more than that!
We worked with Eventjazz for our wedding ceremony. Rob Crozier was prompt and helped with any questions we had, and the pianist and saxophone player knocked our requested Beyonce r...

We used Eventjazz for our ceremony. We wanted a single violinist and asked Rob specifically if there was anyway the violinist could play the theme song from the movie UP as we walk...
ed down the aisle as husband and wife. He said yes and it is and always will be one of my favorite memories of our wedding. Walking down the aisle as husband and wife to that song truly meant so much! It's that attention to detail that truly sets Eventjazz apart from the rest. I can't say enough good things about Eventjazz. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Eventjazz provided just what we were looking for at our garden wedding at the Whitney in Detroit. From our initial contact with Rob until the day of the wedding, everything went sm...
oothly. Rob arranged for us to have a great group of musicians to provide a full sound during dinner and later, for dancing, all at a reasonable price. Even though we liked their repertoire , they added several songs we requested. That, coupled with outstanding musicians and a wonderful vocalist made our evening delightful. We received numerous compliments on the music from our guests, who enjoyed dancing to a variety of songs! I'm so glad we hired Eventjazz and highly recommend them for any event
My wife and I hired Event Jazz to perform at our wedding and it was definitely the right call. Rob was extremely knowledgeable and patient throughout the whole process, not only di...
d he help us go from "no plan" to "a great plan", he and his group went above and beyond on the day itself to make sure everyone had a great time and to make sure things ran smoothly. Definitely give them a call if you need live music for you next event!
"Eventjazz is awesome", is an understatement. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. These guys are very easy to work and quickly responded to all my questions. In addition,...
they were perfectly within our budget. My husband and I searched for and listened to several other bands and they were either too expense for not our style. Eventjazz made our night so memorable. We were told my several of our guests that our wedding was the best wedding that they had ever been to and I attribute that to Eventjazz. They set the mood perfectly and were easily able to keep up with the changing pace and transitions of the evening. If we are ever in need of a band again, we would most definitely go with Eventjazz.
