when choosing vendors…. I can’t emphasize enough how worthwhile it was to book them. Michelle has stuck with me through every high and every low these last 4 years. She is a huge part in our incredibly unique but beautiful wedding planning journey. When we met Michelle in 2019, she initially helped us plan our big 200 person wedding, then 2020 hit. Michelle adapted quickly, getting our big day rescheduled and planning a separate intimate backyard wedding on our OG date. After all of these changes and hard work, Nick and I unfortunately cancelled everything all together due to unforeseen challenges… only 29 days before our backyard wedding. Michelle did everything for me when rescheduling and canceling each one… she not only showed up but went above and beyond to support me when I needed it most. I couldn’t have done it without her. Even after so many changes during an exhausting pandemic, she still had so much passion in her work and quickly became someone I could always count on even after our cancelled initial wedding. She felt like more than just my wedding planner, she became a trusted friend and confidant. 2 years later after some time apart and finding solid foundation again, Nick and I felt 100% ready to FINALLY tie the knot ASAP! Michelle jumped to our side right away even with our short 3 month planning timeframe for the April date… Her genuine excitement and support of Nick and I felt so positive and much needed when planning a wedding for the third (yes I said third) time. This time, Michelle made sure we got it done… and worked tirelessly to make sure THIS one was the wedding of my dreams. I have no words to explain the pure joy, perfection, and happiness I felt on this long awaited day. Michelle took a video when I first walked into the venue and the excitement on my face when I run up to hug her says it all. Our wedding day with her as our coordinator was far better than I ever could have imagined. This group of girls only performs with the highest standards, never skipping a beat or leaving any loose ends. Our third time really was the charm. To say she is the BEST is an understatement!!! The amount of heart and soul she put into making our wedding day perfect is above and beyond what I expected. So where do I even start to talk about how amazing Events by Elle is? Let’s start with the planning process. Each time we met, Lauren was always focused on our vision and what we wanted. When we were unsure about design, she would show us multiple options and ask questions to gain an understanding of what we were looking for. Communication was a top quality with Lauren. She would consistently communicate with vendors to make sure they knew where they were supposed to be, at what time, and exactly what they should be doing. If you’re Type A like me, then Lauren with Events by Elle is who you NEED to plan your wedding in order to stay on top of every detail leading up to the big day. Next, let’s talk about the rehearsal the night before. Before the rehearsal started, she made sure to introduce herself to everyone so that they knew who to go to throughout the day if they needed anything. After introductions, she made sure to keep the night moving and keep everyone organized. Lauren did a great job leading the rehearsal so that everyone knew what to do. One of the BEST things about Events by Elle is that they print off a day-of itinerary for the wedding party so that all members know where to be and at what time! This was SO HELPFUL so that as the bride, I wasn’t worried about scrambling to communicate with everyone or find anybody if they were missing. So after the rehearsal, Lauren handed this to all wedding party members so that everyone was prepared. Lastly, let’s get to the best part - the wedding day! On the wedding day, Lauren kept everything running on time. I’d see her moving from bridal prep room, to the groom prep room, to the lobby to meet vendors, to the ballroom where the ceremony took place, and even to our hotel rooms so that she could grab our luggage and move it up to our honeymoon suite. And did I mention she did this all while wearing a dress with heels?! There was also an incident where our corsages were stolen. Lauren gathered a few bridesmaids, took some flowers from their own bouquets, and tied it around some ribbon so that the grandmothers were able to feel special. There will always be little emergencies that will come up on the wedding day. Luckily, Events by Elle provides a HUGE emergency kit so that you are prepared for anything! Thanks to Lauren and the Events by Elle girls, we had the most perfect, magical wedding day. And my favorite thing about them, they took their job seriously, but when it was time for the reception, they became guests and had a fun time!!!

I spent countless hours talking to planners and coordinators to find the right one - someone who was an amazing human, was thoughtful and meticulous about the details, who knew the vendor community in KC and could help me find the best of the best, would listen to our crazy ideas and bring my back to reality, would advocate for us, and most important get to know us to help execute on one of the most important days in our life - after talking to many planners, I knew Michelle Layman was the one after our first convo! My first call with her went 90 minutes and she didn't focus on my budget or rush me off the phone - she took the time to ask thoughtful and important questions like "how do you want your guest to feel", "when you think about three words you want to use to describe your day what are they", and "what are the things that matter most to you". I knew from that moment I could trust her with decisions, my guest's experience, my vendors, and everything in between. She made wedding planning fun and always made sure to capture some great images throughout the planning experience. Every conversation with her I could feel her investment in my day and her thoughtfulness of making sure each piece and detail went together flawlessly. I can't count how many times I said YES to her ideas because they were better than my own. Fast forward to a year in and we had to postpone our wedding two months before because of COVID. Talk about a big decision - I remember calling Michelle to ask her about what we were going to do. We had over 15 vendors on our list and one of the hardest venues to book in KC. Michelle kept calm cool and collected and within a few days had almost all the vendors agree to a new date in 2021. I was so impressed with how she took this huge burden from us and made sure the day would still be so magical a year later. She was the rock that gave us hope through the pandemic. Fast forward to the month of the wedding. Brides - there will be about 15 freak-out moments leading up to your day. Did you remember to do this, if this done, does so and so know about this. Every time I went to Michelle she reminded me it's normal to feel this way and then reassured me she had everything under control. She was truly incredible. Finally, we get to the day of the wedding. I swear Michelle, Karoline and the whole EBE team were my angels that day. The venue was breathtaking, the vendors were flawless, the details were to die for. Every step of the way Michelle's team was by my side - checking on us, making sure we had everything we needed, and making sure everything in the background was perfect so we could enjoy and taking in all the moments. We seriously could not have had the wedding we did without Michelle and EBE, I am forever grateful for their kind hearts, creative minds, and being willing to take this adventure with us. vid. Our new venue didn't have a coordinator to help with planning like the last one did and I needed help to bring my vision to life. Events by Elle took the ball and ran with it. Every detail was absolutely perfect and well thought out. Michelle was there for meetings, emails, and most importantly moral support. I could tell that she really cared about our wedding and making sure we were happy during the planning process. The Elle girls were at both our rehersal and wedding to make sure everything ran smoothly and was perfect. Day of, all hiccups were avoided and if there was a problem, I had NO idea. They took care of everything from coordinating vendor arrival, handing out our cards/tips to vendors and making sure the florals and decor were just how we wanted. Michelle is literally an angel sent from the wedding gods. The second we met with Michelle, we both felt as if we had known her for years. She was very professional, but so easy to get along with! She knew within the first 10 minutes of meeting us that we were in trouble, we had a lot to get done with not a lot of time left. You could see the lightbulbs going off in her head about all the ideas she had. Thats the type of energy we needed to guide us with all we needed to complete with 3 months we had remaining. When it comes to wedding planning, you get what you pay for and we felt that it was worth penny. Having Karoline there for the months coming up to and on The Big Day was such a blessing. With every meeting we had it was like a rush of relief. Not to mention that her presence was the sole reason our parents , my husband and I were able to be "guests" at our own wedding. In our eyes everything went super well from start to finish. However, this was the night of June 22nd and there was a massive storm going on in KC, which included the flooding of the area my venue was located near the end of my event. My Venue ended up flooding around the last half an hour of the wedding, the bridal suite were all my and my bridesmaid's belongings were... but NO PROBLEM!! My wedding planner handled it like a champ, to my knowledge no one's property was ruined thanks to Karoline and the venue staff! I was shaking it on the dance floor and busy enjoying myself with my friends and family instead of worrying. She knew she had me covered. She came to get me when my ride arrive and I left the venue that night with all my belongings safely in the vehicle that took me home. I can NOT praise this company enough. I mentioned that the flower for my jacket was wrong and she made a phone call and a replacement was delivered in 15 minutes. She had everything so well organized that even with some hiccups, the day of went so smoothly that we barely even noticed. Highly recommend.

But of course, it all comes down to the wedding weekend. There was absolutely nothing we would have changed, it was magnificent! We had a glorious day and night, that was stress free, we made no decisions, we immersed ourselves in all of the moments! Earlier in the day, I walked around observing on, checking in with Karoline as flowers, food, band, lighting, decor arrived. She is a little dynamo, cute as can be, who staged the tables & place settings, putting her final touch of approval on everything. It was perfection!

On the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about any of the vendors, set ups, payments, or telling other people where to be. Karoline prepared a detailed day-of timeline and communicated directly with my Maid of Honor and the Best Man, making it really easy for me (the Bride) and the Groom. When we got to the venue, it was obvious that she had taken time to pay attention to all of the little details while things were being set up. It was perfect. At the end of the night, my new husband and I went to our hotel room to find that while we were enjoying the reception, Karoline had gotten all of our belongings, the leftover food we requested, our cards, and flowers, over to the hotel. It truly was stress-free for us. I would absolutely recommend Events by Elle for planning or day-of services. And Karoline, in particular, was lovely to work with.

Inclement weather also created challenges which Karoline and Jonelle managed expertly and smoothly, the entire wedding turned out absolutely beautiful.
