We hired this DJ for our wedding and unfortunately cannot recommend him. In the lead-up to the wedding, he was pleasant and seemed professional — we provided an extremely detailed,... word-for-word script for the entire day, and he told us he had no questions about it. That preparation did not translate to the actual event.
The problems started immediately: for the bride’s entrance, he played the wrong version of the song after we had explicitly specified which version we wanted. This caused an awkward pause of over a minute while the bride stood waiting for the music to start. For our introduction as a married couple, he skipped our requested song entirely and played a completely different song we had never even heard before. We then went straight into our first dance, and he somehow paused the song a few seconds in, forcing us to awkwardly restart our first dance in front of all our guests.
Beyond the music mishaps, he missed several announcements we had specifically included in our detailed schedule, and he had ongoing technical issues throughout the ceremony — volume problems and songs randomly cutting out.
Given how detailed and clear our instructions were, and how much of the day’s key moments were affected, this was a major disappointment. These are once-in-a-lifetime moments that can’t be redone, and we’re left with memories of awkward pauses and wrong songs instead of the moments we planned for.
Again, Ryan was always very nice, but we want to warn any couples looking for a DJ for their special day. I don’t know if he was having an off day or something, but there were several moments that showed his lack of preparation and professionalism.
