I am a former member of the Appleton Boychoir and have traveled the world performing in different countries and cities. I play many different instruments including trumpet, guitar, ukulele, and piano as well as sing. In college I studied music engineering and have a home studio where I now write and produce my own music. I have been a DJ for 9 years and have helped tons of couples bring their wedding vision to life. I believe in quality equipment, but more importantly knowledgable DJs that know how to properly use it. Your entertainment can make or break your wedding which is why I believe in constant education to deliver the best possible service to all our clients. My goal with starting Exceptional Entertainment is to provide the service that I feel many other companies are leaving on the table. I believe that you deserve more than just a man behind a computer, fancy lights, and loud music. In my free time I enjoy going to live concerts, playing gigs, the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and kicking back and enjoying a few drinks with friends and family. At the venue, Joe hooked up sound in multiple locations and transitioned from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to dinner, to dancing with ease. It was legit seamless. He anticipated any and all complications and was prepared with solutions to it all, spoiler alert, there were NO complications. He asked the best questions, gave us ideas we didn't even think of, and made sure every detail was covered. He also provided timeline recommendations to ensure a smooth flow between events of the night and was more than happy to provide recs that didn't always pertain to DJing (like helping us find the perfect afterparty spot since we weren't familiar with the area).
Come our wedding day, Joe exceeded all expectations and multiple guests shared that it was the best wedding DJ they've experienced. The timing, the energy, the way he kept everyone on the floor for every second of our reception. It felt like he truly got us and knew exactly what to play next. You could feel the room's energy build with every song and it was simply SO much fun. Every song felt perfectly placed, every transition hit, and the flow of the night was seamless. He also had such a clean & modern setup that can easily compliment and look good with any wedding day aesthetic.
We've been to enough weddings to know that the DJ's energy can make or break the night as guests totally feed off it. Joe looked like he was having the time of his life at ours. He never once let the energy dip and definitely didn't let our guests down. You could tell that he genuinely loves what he does and we couldn't be happier with having Joe & the Exceptional Entertainment team as our DJ. oney with our always last minute “homework”/music uploads, but he found a way to read our minds anyway and keep us dancing nonstop. The program he uses to talk with clients and where we upload our music choices was so easy to use and kept everything organized. Joe was always so professional and enthusiastic, every meeting he had a smile on his face - even when we were perhaps the opposite being sleep-deprived and stressed (haha). As if all these good things weren’t enough, we really knew we picked the right DJ when our venue staff told us the evening of the wedding “the WiFi is down. Honestly, I don’t know how the DJ is even playing music.” Meanwhile Joe is behind his booth absolutely rocking it!
His sleek, modern equipment also looked GREAT in our more modern venue (LedgeCrest Reserve). An unexpected improvement compared to the usual black, boxy looking DJ set up.
We have ZERO criticisms for Exceptional Entertainment. They played such a big part in what was quite literally the best day (and best party) of our lives.

communicative. He was the vendor we met with the most, and even though that may sound excessive for a DJ, it really isn't. The DJ is the life of the party for a wedding, so it's 100% worth it to invest the time & money into it if you and your guests want to have a great night. Joe did a phenomenal job with the transitions and kept people out on the dance floor. We also had their Photo Booth services and it was a hit with the guests. The picture quality was great and guests could get a copy sent to their phones immediately after. Another cool add-on they offer are their cold spark machines. If you're looking for an alternative to the sparkler exit, these have the same affect in wedding photos but less of the chaos of having to organize and manage all of your guests with sparklers. They were beautiful and definitely added a "wow factor" to the night. Overall, it truly was the best night of my life and I have Joe to thank for playing such a vital part to that.

step of the way so I never felt nervous or worried that it wouldn't go well. On the day of the wedding we were so impressed at how he remained connected with our wedding coordinator making sure every part of the wedding went smoothly. He also provided the best music and really listened to my request. Not to mention his DJ set up is super classy and sophisticated, would go well with any aesthetic. He provided great enthusiasm to help the crowd get motivated as well. I would definitely recommend Joe and Exceptional Entertainment to any and every bride out there!

ic and venue are two of the most important components of your wedding from a guest entertainment perspective. That being said, Joe and his team at Exceptional Entertainment made sure to link up with every single one of our vendors (photographer, videographer, venue, day of coordinator) to ensure seamless transitions throughout the day. We had an outdoor ceremony and he was able to provide music and microphones for our ceremony, music for the cocktail hour (indoor/outdoor), and the reception MC and music (indoor). We were very particular about our music selection and he didn't miss a beat.
If you select Joe, you can expect to have many touchpoints throughout the lead-up to your wedding day to ensure everything goes as you planned. You can do as much or as little customization to your desired music as you would like. Joe is kind and personable and we highly recommend him and his team!

lso very particular in looking for someone to keep the night flowing and be a great Emcee. Joe delivered in all aspects. He was easy to work with and put all worries aside by staying in touch and giving us so many resources to help us get ready for our big day. He was always readily available to answer any questions that we had (which was a lot) and he even helped to make sure that we maintained a timeline of the tasks that we had so that everything was accounted for when our wedding finally arrived.
He even went above and beyond in his planning to accommodate our venue that had no WiFi service. He made sure that he had everything available to him locally so that he could provide the same experience for us.

Joe made our wedding reception the party we always envisioned. Throughout the whole night I was endlessly impressed with his work. It was a party all night long! at our dance floor opened. Joe had people on the dance floor basically the whole night. Myself, my husband, and all of our guests had so much fun! Joe had such a great sense of the dance floor and was able to play music that fit well with what our guests were enjoying. He was well-organized, knowledgeable, and personable. o the lighting, the MC, cocktail hour, audio guest book, and photo booth it was all incredible. We even had the added caveat of not having Wifi availabe at our venue, but Joe was so prepared that he had all of our music (and much more) available ahead of time. If I could get married again, I would pick this company.
