Exploration Place

Exploration Place was wonderful to work with! My husband and I picked the newly renovated Waterway Hall to hold our reception. Even though there was a staff change, Brooke was very accommodating and helpful! Having security, tables and chairs included is a big perk of this venue. They also let you bring in food and alcohol. The view of the river makes a lovely background as well!

Absolutely do not use this vendor. They are not professional or courteous! We had reception and ceremony here. They only allowed us 1 hour before ceremony to set up which really only allotted 30 minutes before guests were showing up. They didn't shut off the displays next to our room and they were making noises during ceremony that sounded like someone playing video games. All they put up are partitions to separate room and they don't even go all the way up. They are very tacky! The guy in charge didn't listen to how we wanted the reception area set up and when we showed up everything had to be moved. For as much money as we spent on this venue they should have been way more professional and offered more services. The "kitchen" area is nothing more than a sink and doesn't allow for hardly any food preparation. I would NOT recommend this venue to anyone!

I would highly recommend this as a wedding venue. The room is absolutely gorgeous and the staff is very professional and helpful!

The venue is beautiful. Beautiful architecture and views. However, we were told certain things, by staff, that did not pan out on the day. When there should have been a "private party" sign in our reception area, they allowed a bunch of little kids to wander through. My aunts/family members had to help assemble tables and even clean them off and mop the floor because their own staff just stood around! My husband was supposed to be in a certain room for the groomsmen to hang out and change - that we paid extra for - and, at the last minute, were moved to a completely separate room. The girl that was supposed to be covering for the usual event coordinator was USELESS. She was supposed to be there to handle any issues from start to finish. When was the first time I - the bride - saw her? During cleanup. And she made a few snarky comments to me as well. She didn't even introduce herself. Needless to say, for a venue that holds as many events as they do, VERY disappointing. All we received was an apology letter that, to my mom and dad - who paid for the wedding - seemed pretty insincere. For the amount of money my parents paid for the venue and what I know of the venue from being in the industry.....we were very disappointed.
