as someone who values honesty and transparency in the wedding industry, qualities I did not feel I experienced while working with this company. Working with Exquisite Floral Events was one of the biggest mistakes I made during the wedding planning process. I worked with Bukky for my August 2025 wedding at the Armour House in Lake Forest, and I would not describe my experience as positive or professional. Working with Bukky was extremely disappointing and frustrating. The experience became very stress-inducing, and it became difficult for me to trust the process. Three months before our wedding, she attempted to charge us a $600 “flower color change fee.” When we questioned this, she became defensive. First, she blamed tariffs, then claimed it was “in the contract.” When we pointed out that it wasn’t, she insisted that we may have misunderstood the contract. During a Zoom call, she even went on a 15-minute lecture about how clients need to “read contracts more carefully and be more responsible,” which felt dismissive of our concerns and belittled our intelligence. After seeking advice from our lawyer, it was confirmed that the contract did not permit such a fee. When we confronted her, she said she would remove the charge as a “favor.” However, it raised the question of why the fee had been added in the first place? We never got an answer to this question. In the end, it didn’t matter that the fee was removed because our invoice still increased by thousands regardless. These interactions made the planning process stressful and made it difficult to feel confident moving forward. This was only the beginning of the issues that occurred during our time working together. On our wedding day, the problems continued. Exquisite arrived very late and was still setting up as our guests entered the venue, which was disruptive and unprofessional. In addition, many décor items were missing, and the overall design did not align with the inspiration we had shared with Bukky. In the days following our wedding, we did not receive any communication or explanation about what went wrong, nor was there any proactive offer of a refund for the items that were missing. As a newly married couple, we had to follow up ourselves for answers instead of being provided with transparency. I found it extremely unprofessional that there was no outreach or prompt attempt to resolve the situation after the wedding. Based on our experience, I would strongly encourage future couples to carefully review their options before hiring Exquisite Floral Events as a planner or florist. The fees charged did not match the level of service we experienced. There are many décor companies truly worth your money. Please do thorough research before making your decision.
