ent and gave me the most flawless and natural makeup I've ever had in my life. Needless to say, I booked Marci for my wedding. Since we needed two makeup artists, Michelle came as well. These artists were INCREDIBLE! They were right on time, quickly set up their area, and meticulously worked on each girl. The airbrushing made us all look straight out of a magazine. Every bridesmaid and both moms loved their looks! And I was OBSESSED with my makeup. I absolutely loved what Marci did, which was slightly different from my trial based on my request. I truly felt like the best version of myself and wish I could have her do my makeup every day. We were laughing and having a blast all day, and Marci and Michelle did touch ups on everyone before they left. Definitely recommend Face the Day NY for your wedding!!

Not only did we look glamorous, but we weren't overdone. Everyone photographed well and felt great in their own skin. Most importantly, the makeup lasted well over 12 hours. If you can ask Ellen to work with Clara on hair, you will truly have the dream team. They can make anything happen.

Very different than some other artists I looked at who’s portfolio only included one “look”. Their pricing also includes airbrushing and lashes for the entire bridal party, not just the bride. This was a huge draw for me. The communication leading up to the wedding was a bit challenging at times. For example: it took a few attempts to get a correct contract I was initially under the impression based on emails that the owner, Ellen, would be doing my makeup on the day of my wedding. But at my trial, I found out that she was working another wedding that day I was told we would only need 4 artists, and then later told I needed 5 (and that there would be an extra charge). I had to go through old emails and copy and paste prior communication that confirmed we only needed 4 artists. On the day of the wedding, any concerns I had based on communication challenges immediately went away. The artists were on site early, and all set up and ready to go when we arrived. The ladies who worked with me and my bridal party were fantastic. We had Najeebah, Marci, Michelle, and Sybil working with us that day. They were all incredibly sweet, fun to work with, and professional. And they are TALENTED. Najeebah worked on my hair and Marci worked on my makeup. They truly made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself - which is how every bride should feel on their wedding day. Najeebah even talked me through some last minute nerves as she was doing my hair and noticed that I was starting to get very nervous as my ceremony quickly approached. (She told me that every bride gets like this, and that the feeling would pass - and it did!) The hair and makeup lasted all day long. The airbrushing and the lashes are truly fantastic. I was so impressed with how long everything lasted considering we started getting ready at 830am, and the party went until midnight. Looking at photos from the end of the night, the entire bridal party still looked flawless despite June heat and dancing for hours. I’m already looking for another opportunity to have Marci do my makeup again :)

ot countless compliments! On the day of my wedding, she made my hair absolutely perfect and it stayed that way throughout the night! It looks flawless in my photographs! She also made my mom and matron of honor feel beautiful. My mom was raving that she felt like a runway model in the up-do Eve created for her! She loved it so much that she slept in it and wore it the entire next day because it still looked great! Eve really takes a lot of pride in her work and it shows! She genuinely wants it to be perfect for you. She listens to what you are looking for, gives you honest opinions, and accepts and applies your feedback. It was a really nice collaborative experience. In addition to being a talented hair stylist, Eve is also a really cool person! She has a way of making you feel comfortable and at ease, like an old friend. Her positive and calming energy is exactly what you need on a day that can get hectic! She is so reassuring and the kind of person you just want to hang out with! I should also mention that I can be pretty picky and had trials with a few other stylists before I met Eve. She blew them out of the water! So, if I have all of these amazing things to say, why only 4 stars? While Eve is worth about 50 stars, I did feel that the company's manager (with whom you need to communicate/schedule) was less than perfectly professional at times. I hold myself to a high level of professionalism and have high standards for others as well. Nothing horrifying or outrageous happened, just some small things that rubbed me the wrong way and made me question if this was the right company for me. I honestly almost cancelled my initial trial with Eve because of it. Thank goodness I didn't! Again, in the interest of being fair, I will acknowledge that I can be nit-picky about professionalism and that maybe these small things wouldn't bother someone else. I am mentioning this mostly so that the company might take a closer look at this (for their own benefit) and also to assure you that Eve is fantastic and worth it, even if the process outside of her is imperfect at times. Eve, thank you so much! You are such a gift and I know I will look for excuses to work with you again in the future!

ne of us looked great. But more importantly, Ellen was such a calming presence on a stressful day. Even when, after all was done and someone (my mother) suggested she should change something on my makeup--which required her to redo an entire area, she didn't blink. It was no big deal. Also, Ellen's prices are significantly lower than other makeup artists I researched. Don't let that fool you--she's just as good--if not better--than the expensive ones. I would definitely recommend Ellen.

e difficult to get in touch with at times, and she was a bit late on the wedding day- but she made up for that in the quality of her work, and her easy going, fun personality. Overall, working with Face the Day was a pleasure and the prices were beyond reasonable. I would recommend this vendor to any bride looking for great on-site service, and an easy going, pleasant, and accommodating make-up team.

rown from the lightest to the darkest.   After my trial, not only did I love the look of her work, I loved her vibe.  On the day of Ellen and her assistant Cybil showed up on time (6:00 AM on Memorial Day way out in Long Island) and worked their magic.  The makeup was my gift to my bridesmaids and they loved it.   They all decided that they will be hiring Ellen when it is their turn to get married.  We all got so many compliments.  Honestly flawless work.   My favorite part of hiring Ellen was seeing the makeup she did on my teenage daughter (not too much but absolutely beautiful) and my mom.  My mom NEVER wears makeup, not even lip gloss and had initially refused to get her makeup done as previous attempts at makeup had left her itchy and uncomfortable.  I spoke to Ellen about this and Ellen advised me to try out some makeup brands for sensitive skin.  I never got around to doing a trial run for my mom but nonetheless Ellen was able to do my mom's makeup with nary a complaint from my mom.  She was beaming the entire day and looks so beautiful in her pics.  My aunt told me that she has never seen my mom happier.  Of course she was happy to see her baby daughter get married but I know some of her happiness was because she knew she was gorgeous. As an added bonus Ellen introduced me to the fabulous Diana who did my hair as well as some of the members in my bridal party.

t had a family emergency and had to drop out of my wedding 2 weeks before. I found Ellen on the Knot after reading all these wonderful reviews. She was personable on the phone and seemed to be able to offer what I needed on my special day. Not having much time, I negotiated a price of a $1000. She was to provide make-up for myself, 3 bridesmaids and my mother, as well as stay throughout the wedding to do retouches etc. She was well aware my wedding was on a boat and did not mention that this would pose any issues. So my big day arrives and Ellen is on time and prepared to work. But as any bride knows sometimes things dont go as planned and I was running late for my own wedding.Ellen called me 3 or 4 times to tell me it would take 2 hours to do my make up, wanting status updates, to complain about having to go to the boat for make up. I was already stressed about being late so I eventually had to stop taking her calls. BUT my bridemaids were there early enough to have their make-up done. The only change was that instead of doing it in the hotel it would be done on the boat.This is where everything goes downhill. Ellen had sea sickness and not that it was her fault but hey you knew where the venue was going to be. I guess this is where she decided not to do what she was hired for. Because upon my arrival after being on the boat for over an hour she just started one bridesmaid as I arrived. She didnt finish her and I immediately sat in the chair. My sister, mom and 2 bridesmaids did their own make-up. Fast forward when I asked her to give me a more dramatic look later in the evening...I looked like a drag queen. I was so happy to be marrying my husband that I didnt have time to be mad about make-up. Until I received my wedding pictures. I was furious!! Because for $1000 she only had to do 1.5 people and my makeup was awful. I have been in numerous weddings and have done professional photoshoots and I have never had some need or take 2 hours to do my makeup properly. I take 15 minutes in the morning before I go to work and it looks better than it did on my wedding day. I feel like I got robbed. Because I paid this person to come to my wedding and eat, drink, party and ruin my wedding pictures. So thank you Ellen for being unprofessional, overpriced and underskilled! I waited 9 months to write this...I feel good that I may be helping another bride stay away from you.

ow to hide blemishes. I was most impressed by the makeup she did on one of the girls. I always thought that eyeshadow never worked for her, but Ellen gave her the smoldering look and she looked fabulous! The other girls even complimented on what a great job she did on everyone. And they of course loved that she applied the airbrushed makeup on so perfectly. The makeup did not look heavy or feel heavy at all throughout the day. I cannot, however, comment on the hair services. Ellen made us all look gorgeous and I couldn't be more grateful! I would highly recommend her makeup services to anyone and everyone.

d Ellen (my makeup artist) were both really cool gals. So glad I went with them. Great spirits! Plus they made me look so glam! I tried two hairstyles. I brought pictures in and they made it look exactly like I wanted. I ended up going with my hair down because it felt more me. For makeup I had no real vision. I just didn't want to look so made up that I didn't look like myself. I wanted to look bridal pretty. I didn't even have to give Ellen much direction. She knew and did her thing. The day of the wedding I get a call from Ellen saying her car had a flat and she would be late. You'd think I'd be freaking out. But I was calm and cool. I chilled out with my mom for a while in the hotel room and ordered breakfast and before I knew it, her and her team was there. They did all my bridesmaids, my flower girl and my mom for hair and makeup! These girls were all great! In fact, the day after the wedding I woke up with my makeup still on! Lol, I was too pooped to wipe it off the night before. But this thing lasted. They made me feel so beautiful for my day and I got many compliments. :)

My makeup trial was in June and my wedding was in October! Ellen was reachable throughout the entire process, if I had any ideas, needed recommendations or input, she was available, and even recommended a wonderful hairstylist. On my wedding day, October 29, 2011 it SNOWED, not flurries or shower, we're talking almost a blizzard! Ellen was early, professional and precise. While the makeup artist hired by other members of my bridal party was unreachable and suddenly disappeared, Ellen even made last minute accommodations to include additional persons not originally included in our plan. Ellen's contribution to my wedding day was invaluable. Thank you Ellen. know everyone always tells you "oh you look beautiful" I actually felt it and I tear up every time I see my pictures. I would have changed a single thing about my hair or make-up.. Not only did I look amazing all of my bridesmaids did to. Ellen and her team were able to complete a Bride, Bridal Party of 7, a mother and 5 jr bridesmaids in time of my wedding without having to start super early in the morning. It was very impressive!!!! Not only did I love the job they did I LOVED THE PRICE!!!!! I would recommend them to the moon and back!!!!!!!!

Ellen, Sabrina (yes she does double duty) , and one assistant (sorry forgot her name) did the makeup and they looked absolutely FABULOUS. Ellen did my makeup and it was flawless, I got compliments all night! They were punctual and finished everyone on schedule (10 of us). My bridal party was impressed by their make-up and I was very happy with that I hired them for my girls as part of their gifts. Face the Day are not only professionals but SO much fun to be around, I really felt comfortable and special. I could not be happier with the services provided. You get what you pay for and Face the Day was worth every penny :)

Sabrina created long beautiful soft curls that lasted the whole evening without that hair sprayed look of fried curls. The curls flowed beautifully and felt light as a feather. Ellen’s make up which was my greatest fear for the night was beautiful all night too. I actually did not have to blot for oil, though with some dancing I did sweat. To be honest, I thought the pictures from end of the night would show me melting, but nothing. Not a smear, not a melt! We recently received our pics and I was amazed at how stunning I remained at the end of the night. These girls are the best.

I decided to book her for myself, my bridesmaids, and my mom for the wedding day! Everyone was so happy with their makeup and kept commenting how the makeup lasted and how wonderful they felt and looked! She uses excellent products that are not only long lasting but capture wonderfully in pictures (I just received my proofs from the photographer!) I would also like to mention that it was through Ellen that I found my hairstylist, Clara, who was also extremely talented and did excellent updos on the entire bridal party, as well as myself and my mom! I would definitely recommend Ellen and her team and can't wait to have them glamorize me for another formal event!!!!

And the times I’ve had makeup professionally done, it looked unnatural and I never looked like “me” afterwards so I was very afraid that history would repeat itself on my wedding day lol -- but luckily my fears were unfounded! My wedding makeup looked very natural - yet fabulous, and I didn’t “look” like I had makeup on. As I wanted, I still looked like “me”, but glamorous. After my trial with Ellen I knew I was going to look beautiful for my wedding day without looking like a clown. She did more than a superb job, my face was absolutely gorgeous but not overdone; stunning yet simple. It was exactly how I wanted to look. The results were truly beautiful. Ellen did my makeup and my best friend's makeup, and we were both thrilled. Before the wedding date, I did a trial and Ellen was so IDEAL for someone like me: I did not want to look super "made up," or like I had a lot of makeup on. But I wanted to look good too. To complicate things, I wasn't really sure what I wanted exactly (in terms of what eye make-up I wanted, or what precise lipstick shade would be best, etc.) The trial was great. Ellen listened to my list of must-haves, as well as my "deal breakers" (e.g., NO caked on look). She suggested a few things she thought would work best in the photos, given the time of day and the kind of minimal look I wanted, and she did the trial quickly, and I was really happy with what she did. On the morning of my wedding, Ellen came to my apartment (which saved me about an hour of salon travel time). I had decided to change a few things from what we had decided at the trial. Everything I explained I wanted was "no problem," which was one of the best parts about Ellen's approach. Looking back on that day, after having used a lot of vendors for the wedding, I think I owe my biggest debt of gratitude to Ellen. Her ability to deal with the bad lighting in my apt, and to just....do her work in such a tight timeframe, was amazing. She even gave me a powder before I left to go se the photographer. My makeup looked flawless, and held up all day & all night. When I look at my photos, it hardly looks like I had any makeup on at all, other than lipstick. And yet, all my uneven skin tone was perfectly covered up with Ellen's effortless magic! It's worth noting that as a general rule, I NEVER look good in photos. And I was dreading the wedding because of that...I just don't take good pictures generally because I'm just not photogenic. But I actually looked good! Without looking like I had a ton of makeup on. All of this, in the middle of August in New York! I didn't think it could go as well as it did and now I have such nice pictures for the rest of my life. I owe it all to Ellen. I highly highly recommend her to any bride. Thank you Ellen!!

She stayed in the hotel and did my cousin/bride's makeup the morning of the event and she also was hired for two other bridesmaids.
