Liz and the Fair Hills Team made our wedding this year in June 2023 absolutely incredible. Liz was very in tune to my vision for the day and gave great suggestions based on that. The food is provided by the resort and it was delicious! Our guests loved that they could stay on the property as this was a destination wedding for our families. The fair hills team are all so friendly and make you feel like family. I wish we had known about this resort sooner, as I’m sure there are more vacations to come after our memorable wedding weekend. I would highly recommend them if you’re looking for a fun, laid back, lake side love story. I had absolutely no worries going into my wedding day. I knew the team would do a phenomenal job. We loved everything about our wedding at Fair Hills this June! Liz is incredibly organized and the staff was all friendly and helpful all weekend. They were incredibly accommodating in our requests and made everything run so smoothly. We wanted our wedding to feel like a cabin weekend up north with all our friends and family and Fair Hills definitely delivered on that! Highly recommend.

Fair Hills is a beautiful, fun, and cozy wedding venue that has many opportunities for guests and a variety of opportunities for hosting a wedding! We appreciated the delicious included breakfast and our guests really enjoyed getting to be outside and spend time at the lake for the weekend. The wedding venue coordinator, Liz, does a great job making the planning process smooth and reliable for any day-of needs!

Their wedding Coordinator Liz was AMAZING she handled everything helped us walk through some customization items and what we could and couldn't do, she had everything lined up perfect for us. We were NOT an easy couple with dozens of e-mails and requests that certainly were not textbook or easy. We wanted everything under the sun our way and Liz found a way to make it all happen perfectly.

Fair Hills had my sold on a venue the moment I had their elopement package information in my hands. As the bride, I basically had to make three choices of location for the ceremony, dinner, and dance. My husband and I did a walk through of the venue well before our big day which helped plan out nearly every detail. The day of was relaxed and spread out which made for a lovely experience for everyone involved. Probably the best part was that our wedding party, a total of 26, had an entire section of the resort to ourselves so everyone had their own cabin and space to relax, nap, play yard games, fish, swim, whatever!

Incredible is an understatement for this venue. We received so many compliments from our guests from everything from the venue itself to the food to the location, the cabins, the accommodations and amenities. I could not have asked for a more perfect day! Our wedding coordinator, Liz made the entire wedding planning process smooth and was more than accommodating to our special requests! The lake view venue was spectacular and made for the most romantic backdrop to marry my best friend and created the most fun environment for our guests. From the first look at the top of the golf course to the spectacular pontoon boat ride for our guests, fair hills on pelican lake is the perfect wedding venue any couple could ask for!

Fair Hills Resort was an absolute dream! The entire staff was extremely easy to work with, well organized, and had great communication. We were planning on having an outdoor ceremony and on the day of the wedding it was down pouring. The wedding coordinator was in touch with me all through the day and made me feel at ease. They were able to switch from an outdoor ceremony to an indoor ceremony with no problems and told me they'll be watching the radar. Right before the ceremony, the sun came out and we were able to have the ceremony outside. It was so nice to have a venue that knew how to handle anything because it allowed me to focus on the day and enjoy every minute. I have had multiple guests text and call saying how great their experience was with Fair Hills and how they can't wait to go back for a summer vacation. I cannot say enough good things about staff. Truly supportive and wonderful people.

So this isn't exactly about a stay but about the wedding planning I attempted to do with Fair Hills. Back in November 2019 when I began looking at venues, it seemed that I struck gold when I found sister resorts Five Lakes and Fair Hills. They were affordable, in the right location, and SUPER accomodating! My coordinator, Rebecca, was the absolute best and I was thrilled. The contract was signed and plans were underway. Then about two months ago, I received an email from Rebecca telling me that she was moving on and there would be a new coordinator taking her place. From there, things started going downhill. The new coordinator, Liz, was almost impossible to get ahold of and when I finally did, she seemed to have no clue going on. With increasing frustration, I turned to the Five Lakes liaison, Marlette, who seemed to know more about our plans. It initially seemed just like your usual bumpy transition between personnel until I received an email from Marlette stating that it would easier for the resort if I moved my ceremony to a different site. I immediately scheduled a time to go view the other ceremony sites and realized right away that none of them were comparable to the site that I had already chosen (and paid for!) I let Liz and Marlette know that I would still like to stay at that location. About a week later I received an email stating that Marlette had gone ahead and rented out my ceremony site to a different party. I immediately reached out, sure that there was just some sort of confusion but they confirmed that they had done exactly that. If I still wanted to get married at the resort I would not be able to do it in the location that I had reserved and paid for. When I brought up the contract, they claimed they had never received it. (I have a copy) After much ado, and involving my mother in law (bless her heart) the resort, while they would not admit fault or that they broke contract, agreed to refund our deposit. Mind you- this all took place about a MONTH AND A HALF before my wedding. Due to COVID-19 this is an already stressful time to plan a wedding. I thankfully was able to find a venue to fill my needs and am expecting have a beautiful day despite these hurdles. That being said, I wouldn't want another bride or groom to experience this sort of stress, hence this post. Best of luck to all you and happy planning!

Breathtaking ...so many guests were amazed at how beautiful their experience was at Fair Hills Resort. Many people took advantage of the amenities and made a weekend out of the wedding by staying in the cabins available for guests. We were so happy to be able to work with such great managers and owners, very accommodating and reasonable, great food as well. The unique part about this venue is the gorgeous lakeside views and the lovely walk from dinner to the dance. I would highly recommend taking a trip to Pelican Lake and touring this venue, before you make a decision elsewhere, this is a wonderful venue! Absolutely loved it all!

I cannot recommend Fair Hills enough! We loved every single thing about getting married at Fair Hills! It is a family run resort and they really do treat you like family. Rebecca, the wedding coordinator was AMAZING! She answered all of the questions I had throughout planning and worked great via email. On the day of, she worked with all of the vendors and fielded any questions and solved any issues. We got so many compliments from our guests on the food, the resort and the staff- Fair Hills went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of! We felt that the pricing was affordable and Rebecca and staff were so ready and willing to help that we found that we didn’t need a day- of coordinator. Unlike many venues we looked at, Fair Hills did not have any hidden fees or charges. They also have really nice policies on set up and tear down which made the day much less stressful also.If you get married there you are the only wedding on the property and actually the weekend we got married we were the only guests on the property so our guests had the entire resort to themselves. We loved that we had to many location options (grassy, trees, lake etc) and it really felt like a getaway for our guests.

My son and his bride had their Wedding Reception at Fair Hills Resort this past August, it was a beautiful, magical day. The picturesque resort surrounded by the beauty of nature and view of Pelican Lake, made for a very special day. The staff were so kind and accommodating we were able to create the wedding that Sydney and John envisioned. The food was incredible, we received many compliments on it. Fair Hills has always been known for their food, and we were not disappointed! I could go and on..let’s just say I highly recommend Fair Hills!

Having our wedding at fair hill resorts was a true blessing! The owners did everything to make our day special. Even when it started to rain on our wedding they they moved the ceremony inside and made it look breathless! I always recommend this venue to couples that just got engaged!

We had our wedding at Fair Hills Resort - Fair Hills is a very beautiful and rustic venue - and quite large. We had around 200 guests. They fit nicely in the pavilion (which is right on the lake) for the ceremony and the dining hall (up on a hill) where we had our reception and a jazz / cocktail band. The resort is right on the lake and very, very beautiful!! There are cabins at the resort as well, for your guests to stay if they wish. If you like the beautiful state of Minnesota and want a venue that gives you that ”lake setting” feel - Fair Hills is definitely the place to have your wedding!! I can’t say enough great words about the staff!! Beth communicated with us quite often during the planning stage (we had a 8 month long engagement) - by email and then we did meet in person a few times too. The staff were very attentive to our needs. The morning of as we were getting some decorations set up in the reception - I had a few last-minute changes (setup for the reception) and the staff was very accommodating and got right on it! The food and dessert was excellent!! We highly recommend you stay in a cabin at the resort on the wedding night - as noted before, Fair Hills is a very beautiful resort that is right on the lake and the cabins are very up-to-date! We will definitely go there again and stay on our future anniversaries!

Lovely setting, beautiful dining room

We were so pleased with Fair Hills in every aspect. We are the parents of the groom and Fair Hill’s catered the groom’s dinner for 110 people. We were worried as the dinner was the same evening as another wedding. That wedding was also using the same venue for their cocktail hour just prior to our dinner. Not only did Fair Hill’s do an amazing job setting up (in time) we also never encountered the other wedding party! We spent 4 days at the resort and found all the staff very friendly and extremely helpful. The breakfasts exceeded our expectations and the two dinners (wedding and groom’s) were both very good. We have been to some very “High-end” expensive weddings and I would consider Fair Hill’s a great option for a destination wedding! Thank you Fair Hill’s Resort!

If you are looking for a place where all of your guests can stay at the location of your wedding, then Fair Hills is the place to have your wedding! We got married over Labor Day weekend and most of our guests stayed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights which was awesome because we were able to have so much quality time with our guests. We had our rehearsal dinner on the deck on Saturday evening and then our wedding on Sunday, it was great because everyone was able to park their cars and just stay at Fair Hills for the weekend! Our guests are still talking about how much they had to do over the weekend, we played golf, had a volleyball and pickle-ball tournament, went kayaking, and rented ski boats. We had so much fun all weekend and the wedding topped off our already amazing weekend! Everything went off with no problems the entire weekend, it was great! I would highly recommend having your wedding at Fair Hills!

Fair Hills Resort is an absolutely amazing place for a wedding venue! Everything is conveniently located in one area so your guests don’t need to worry about driving to different locations. Not only is it convenient, the resort is absolutely stunning! The staff were so amazing to work with and they help your big day go smoothly!

Rebecca, Beth, and Emily did a WONDERFUL job helping us curate the perfect wedding day. Especially the day-of, Rebecca was hands-on and helpful in every way including keeping on our timeline and helping make sure our vision came alive. My husband and I couldn't recommend Fair Hills enough for a beautiful rustic wedding in Minnesota's lake country. Each of the three locations for each of the events (cocktail hour, dinner, and dance) and were so perfect and unique in their own way which made for such a special day.

Fair Hills is a beautiful venue! The entire staff are professional and considerate. As a fellow wedding vendor their staff are great to work with! Watching how they interact with the bride, groom, and guest's, from my side of things, I can confidently say they do everything they can to make your day amazing! As a local wedding photographer, Fair Hills Resort is one of my favorite venues! From the coordinator to the kitchen staff, everyone is always so helpful and work hard to make sure brides and grooms have the best day possible. Aside from the amazing staff, the location is historic and beautiful. There are so many options for photo locations, from the cabins, to the beach, the lake, the pontoon, and the golf course. I'm so lucky to have more Fair Hills weddings lined up for Two Birds Photography!

If you haven't considered having your wedding at Fair Hills yet - you need to start! For us it wasn't just a venue, it was an experience for us and our guests. If you love the "up north" feel on Minnesota but want some rustic elegance, this is the place for you. We had such a positive experience during the planning process with their coordinator, Amanda. My husband is originally from the area, but we live near the Twin Cities now so most of our planning was done from afar. She was always willing to answer a question, respond to a text or listen to our many requests! We had our ceremony by the Lakeside, dinner in the Dining Hall and dance in The Pavilion. It was so fun to be able to have a different feel at each area, but none of our guests had to drive around to get to them as they're all on the grounds. PLUS your guests can stay in the cabins and not worry about getting to a hotel. They are simple accommodations, but clean & cozy. The food was also amazing, usually people don't talk about food much but we had SO many compliments. After the weekend we also had so many people tell us how much they enjoyed the resort, and we are so fortunate to have found it. We really can't imagine a better fitting spot for us to have started our adventure as husband and wife, and I can't wait for you to experience it!

We have been married for 2 months now and are still hearing from people how they had the best time at our wedding! A wedding at Fair Hills is more than just a night, its an experience. Our guests loved being able to “tour” the resort as they went to each venue location, the food was amazing, and being able to stay on site and have use of all the resort amenities is great! Amanda, the wedding coordinator, is truly amazing. This was even noticed and commented on by our family and the wedding party throughout the weekend. Being an out of town bride having her there to help make sure everything got planned before hand was great. Day of, she was everywhere and constantly making sure everything was going great…she even helped me get my shoes off before the first dance! :) What really amazed us though was how she took the time to check in the next day. She had another wedding going on that was her priority yet every time she saw us she made a point to stop and have a conversation with us. We are so grateful to Amanda and Fair Hills for helping us create our dream wedding! Our family is already discussing an anniversary reunion at Fair Hills in the coming years. :)

The wedding day was executed perfectly! Amanda at Fair Hills always kept us on top of the planning aspects for the wedding from the day we said yes to Fair Hills to the day we said I Do. Because of unpredictable weather, we decided to change the location of our ceremony the day of the wedding which was no big deal for the staff at Fair Hills. The food was wonderful and the chef even accommodated the few guests with special diets, even whipping up a single vegan meal for one of the guests! We chose Fair Hills for the resort feel and so that our guests wouldn’t have to drive home after the wedding. This allowed most guests to dance until the closing song, and the dance floor never went empty! Overall if we were able to do our wedding over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

Fair Hills was the perfect site for our wedding. I am from the Detroit Lakes area and my husband and I wanted a venue that would showcase the best northern Minnesota has to offer. Fair Hills did just that! Our out of town guests loved staying the cabins, enjoying the lake, and golfing. Everyone LOVED the food and service. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the deck and the dining room looked magical for dinner. Our coordinator, Amanda, was unbelievably helpful and friendly throughout the entire planning process. She ensured everything for the day of was flawless. 10/10! We aren't planning on getting married again, but if we were, we would go with Fair Hills every time!

Fair Hills Resort was the absolute best place to have a wedding. The venue itself is gorgeous and they took care of everything for us. Beautiful setting and facilities. Amanda was there to guide us with every question, concern and each step of planning.....she is a true professional and an exceptional Wedding Planner. All the staff was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Our guest loved staying in the rustic cabins. Every square foot of the resort is clean, well kept and charming. My daughter and son-in-laws wedding was absolutely perfect!

I booked my wedding with Amanda last year and worked with her regularly to make my wedding perfect! Amanda was so easy to work with and accommodated all my requests to make my day just right! The day of Amanda made sure everything went smoothly and was right there for any questions or concerns! The food was awesome and everyone was impressed! I highly recommend Fair Hills and their staff! It’s truly a unique and special place! You won’t find anywhere like Fair Hills, it’s a truly remarkable place!

Fair Hills Resort was the perfect venue for our wedding. It is hard to pick one favorite part about it! Personally, I loved that the guests had so much to do during the cocktail hour. We had wonderful weather, and as the bridal party went on a bus for an hour, the guests had great drinks, and had many activities to choose from. Some include, snack bar, shuffleboard courts, mingling on the deck which overlooks the lake, bags tournaments, etc. Once we went to dinner in the Dining Room, Fair Hills was amazingly accommodating to the multiple food allergies on our guest list. We had nut-free, dairy free, vegan, and gluten free guests. They had meals prepared and ready so that no one felt alienated or 'difficult' Fast forward to the dance.. we had our dance in the Pavilion right on the lake. It was the perfect place to have everyone gather for the final party! When guests needed a break, they could go stand on the deck overlooking the lake, or they could spread out throughout the lobby (but no matter where you went, you could still hear the music, so you weren't ever too far from the party!) Finally, I can't say enough good things about the staff at the resort. Every single person was helpful, friendly and willing to do any request we threw at them. Amanda, the wedding coordinator on-site, was extremely helpful leading up to the wedding, and she was SO organized. We never were in doubt because we knew Amanda was in charge. We recommend Fair Hills to anyone looking for a unique venue that creates and enjoyable experience to ALL guests!

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the most important day of your life. The customer service is also beyond reproach. The staff are all friendly and will go out of the way to cater to your every whim. I highly recommend this place to any couple.

We decided to have our wedding at Fair Hills Resort after meeting with the wedding coordinator and taking a look around the resort. After a 20 minute walk through we fell in love with the resort. The weekend of our wedding was everything we wanted and exceeded our expectations. Fair Hills staff were all phenomenal, the resort amenities were top notch, and we never felt stressed.

Booking Fair Hills was the best decision I made in my planning process! I had the most beautiful wedding thanks to the staff and the wedding coordinator Amanda! Throughout planning they were so helpful. We did our rehearsal dinner there too and it was fantastic. The grounds are so beautiful and reminded everyone of dirty dancing! Every minute of my wedding at Fair Hills was exactly what I hoped it would be. All of my friends and family were able to stay together for the whole weekend so we were able to spend time together beyond the night of the wedding. (It does go by as quickly as everyone says it does--so this was a definite bonus.) The food and staff were fabulous. I highly recommend Fair Hills Resort

From start to finish our wedding day was even better than we could have imagined!! We still are receiving compliments about the resort, staff, food, decorations, dance and overall weekend experience at the lake! I wish we could re-do the weekend over again with all of our friends and family because it went by so fast! Fair Hills and Five Lakes Resort will forever hold a special place in our heart and we will definitely be back for years to come!! I can't say enough wonderful things about Fair Hills Resort! The staff was incredible to work with. The food was amazing, location is beautiful, guests were all raving about how much fun they had! We are planning to rent a cabin here every year on our anniversary!
