The Fairmont was truly an exceptional venue for our daughter and son-in-law‘s wedding. From the beautiful setting to the impeccable service every day was handled with care and professionalism . Chris Schmidt and his entire Staar staff was very warm, attentive and incredibly accommodating throughout the weekend. The Fairmont exceeded our expectations and helped make the wedding weekend incredibly memorable for our entire family. The Fairmont was a perfect place to get married in Chicago for a multitude of reasons. Chris and his team made us feel warm and welcome from the moment we toured until the last guest checked out at the end of the wedding weekend. Chris was easy to communicate with and our planner loved working with him, too. Everyone at the hotel was kind, friendly, helpful, and made us all feel so special. The FOOD was FANTASTIC!!! Even my wedding planner couldn't believe how good everything tasted. They were willing to accommodate all of our needs and help to make our wedding a day we will truly never forget. The ballroom is stunning with two giant chandeliers in the ceiling, plus the mirrored room gave it a cool feeling of being open without there being windows. The Fairmont is also close by so many Chicago attractions for guests who were in town for the weekend; Millenium Park, The Bean, Michigan Avenue, etc.

We had such an AMAZING experience with the Fairmont. The staff there were so accommodating and so quick to respond! We were able to upgrade to the presidential suite for free which...

allowed us to have it as the bridal suite, a place for the after party, and for us to stay the night. We had the whole 2nd floor to ourselves. I don't have a negative thing to say about my experience with the Fairmont.

ce. This room allowed us to host guests throughout the weekend, including for fireworks on July 4th. The other suites were good size (big enough for hair and makeup to come into the room the morning of the wedding and for all my bridesmaids to sit in there comfortably), the bed was comfortable, and we had a nice view. The rating is based mostly on the fact that we were disappointed that the room was not turned over into a "honeymoon suite" the night of the wedding. Our parents were told that we would be getting something special because of our wedding, so we were excited to come back and have the room decorated for us to help celebrate the occasion. We came back from the wedding and nothing had been done. With the amount of money that was spent there that weekend (we also had a room block where a number of guests stayed for multiple days), we were all expecting/anticipating a little bit more.

nt won us over with an incredible package I could not be happier that we went that route. We had a wedding of around 170 at the Fairmont in December of 2018, with about half of our guests coming in from out of town. We had lots of moving parts, dozens of hospitality bags and much more -- and working with Tracy Hartman, Tina Salus and Alyssa Olsen was a dream and a pleasure. They were incredibly patient, attentive, responsive and friendly. Our hotel block was competitively priced, the rooms were huge, and the staff was unbelievable when we were there -- anything we needed was a text or a phone call away! We'd have another event there in a heartbeat. I would absolutely recommend the Fairmont to anyone having a larger wedding in Chicago. Amazing location, amazing staff, hot and good food...the list goes on. If you are looking at hotels for a wedding in Chicago, do not pass this one up!!

This review is for a wedding block and after party hosted here. They were the thorn in my side for all of wedding planning - the only vendor/venue I have written a bad review for. ...

We constantly had to ask them to add more rooms to the block (we only had 39 rooms booked there in the end - it was as though they added 2-3 rooms each time). Then they had a "flash sale" where our guests could add parking on for free by calling, even if they had previously booked. The number of guests that called and were told "i dont know what you are talking about" was very frustrating. Not to mention how rude the phone operators were... There was a huge disconnect between corporate (phone call reservations) and online (internal reservations), also. Half the time we'd have rooms on one but not the other block. Finally, the day of, the valet informed us that none of us had free parking and we would be charged $71 per night. SO all of our guests were pretty unhappy when they had an added charge on their bill. They are supposedly reviewing and reimbursing, but this was the last thing I wanted to deal with on my wedding day. Ugh! Second, we had an after party at the Columbus tap, from 12-2am. We were told we would have the entire bar to ourselves, and it was an open tab. Much to our surprise, the doors were open and the bartenders didnt know anything about this- only knew to keep a tab open. So random strangers were showing up and we were paying for their drinks! So, so frustrating!

When the time came to decide where to have our fairytale wedding it didn't even cross my mind to look at anywhere else. My oldest sister had her wedding here in 2005 and every part...

of her wedding was amazing. People were talking about how amazing her wedding was for years. Our wedding planning was no different. From the moment we went back to the Fairmont everyone remember who we were. It was like working with family. The chef is incredible, as well as, the pastry chef. The food is the best in the city and people our still talking about the food at our wedding. While Wayne (the past Catering Manager/Wedding Specialist) worked with us up until the day of the wedding we were handed off with such good care. Alicia the new Catering Manager/Wedding Specialist who took over Wayne's position is supposed to just as amazing. The suites in the hotel are spectacular. The presidential suite is such an awesome place for the bride and her bridesmaids to get ready. They are so accommodating and will work within any budget. Again, our fairytale wedding would not of been possible anywhere else. If you are deciding between the perfect place in the city the FAIRMONT is your spot!!!
