Colleen and Fairy Godmother were referred to me by a colleague, and I am so glad I gave her a call. Planning a wedding can be intimidating and overwhelming, and I am someone who thrives off planning, organizing, and designing. However, I found myself thinking, "where the heck do I start?". Colleen and her team hands down made our wedding day PERFECT. My husband and I are busy medical students and I was looking for a wedding planner who could help me with wedding planning from beginning to end and Collen went above and beyond. From the very beginning, Colleen was flexible with our busy schedules and coordinated planning meetings even late at night to meet our needs. She made me feel extremely at ease and she helped me find the absolute best vendors for our wedding. She is extremely organized and timely. As the groom, I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Fairy Godmother Events! As a younger couple my wife and I were sometimes not taken seriously by vendors when we were planning on our own. From the moment we first contacted Colleen she never made us feel that way and to the day of our wedding, Colleen and her whole team were an absolute dream to work with. When It comes to preparation, execution day of, and nailing all of the details of planning an event, it does NOT get any better than Colleen and her Team at Fairy Godmother, Even before I arrived at the Bakersfield Country Club the day of , Her team was already on site (And had been for some time) checking, and then doubling checking to make sure EVERYTHING was in place, setting, fixing linens, adjustments to flowers, glasses and silverware were perfect, you name it. and as a DJ, Timelines are the Holy Grail day of, so when I received hers and started going through it I knew Not only was I in Good hands, but the event would run flawlessly (and it DID) she is amazing at what she does because she cares and surrounds her self with like a minded staff.. I can’t say enough great things about Colleen Baur and the team at Fairy Godmother. As the mother of the bride and a person who has helped plan a number of other weddings I knew I needed a team to enable me to relax and truly enjoy our day. Colleen and her team were easy to work with and helpful throughout the process. The attention to detail and prompt responses to all of my questions made planning a breeze. Being an event coordinator myself I knew that letting someone else plan my big day would be difficult. However, meeting with Fairy Godmother’s team they were able to bring my fall & football wedding vision come to life. To really find out what someone's reputation is within the wedding industry, you should ask the opinion of other wedding vendors. I am here to tell you that Colleen is the complete package. I am a makeup artist and worked with her on a wedding recently. Her communication and organization was impeccable and her follow-thru unparalleled. Even though my role is a small one, she made me feel important and part of the overall team. I probably talked to her for all of 5 seconds on the big day but I can tell she has a servant heart and really gives her all to her clients to be the hero of their day. She even helped out doing the breakfast dishes on the morning of while the girls were getting ready. I wish I had an event for her to plan, I would not have to worry about a thing!

Colleen and her fabulous team helped us navigate probably 20 different plans, several different time zones, a few bumps in the road to say the least (#covidbride), and possibly everything in between with impeccable grace and professionalism. We had literally thrown so many different ideas Colleen's way and everytime she was incredibly supportive, engaged, and ready to take on the task (for context we had a fully planned wedding on the west coast, then switched to the east coast, then back to a completely different plan on the west coast - so we really got a three for one! every single time we had a new idea she was the first one to get on board). We really had no idea what went into making a wedding perfect - the details, the venue, the coordinating - and Colleen was there to truly guide us every step of the way and we could not have been MORE happy with the outcome. The day of went without a hitch and after all the turbulence of planning a wedding in a pandemic, Colleen and her team really made it so beyond incredible! She also connected us to the most FABULOUS vendor team that we could not be happier with (in all three different venue locations too LOL - she knows great people everywhere! I am telling you we put her to the test haha). Colleen knows how to make an unforgettable event and knowns exactly how to create and coordinate a team that will execute it with perfection!

As the Mother of the Bride hiring Fairy Godmother was a godsend. Colleen and her staff thought of everything and took the stress of wedding planning and day of details off of myself and the bride so that we could enjoy the special day. It’s so important to have a timeline and a crew behind the scenes at the reception to handle those crazy unplanned things that come up. In our case it was big letters that light up but we didn’t have an extension cord to reach the dance floor and gnats that were attracting to the donut wall. They handled both without us even knowing. Another perk was the help during photographs! Colleen helped the guys with their flowers and fixed the brides dress. All of the little touches were so appreciated and made for beautiful photographs that stayed on schedule.

Colleen and her fellow Fairy Godmothers were absolute joys! At first, we were a little leery of using such a service but quickly relaxed and realized we were in professional, caring hands. Colleen created a timeline, contacted our vendors so all were on the same page, and attended our rehearsal; just in case there needed to be any last-minute adjustments. Wedding Day went smoothly because of her attention to detail and staying true to the timeline. What a surprise to come inside after the reception, which had to be at our house, to find clean dishes, folded tablecloths, and left-overs neatly packed in the fridge. The entire team at Fairy Godmother was absolutely incredible! Our wedding planning had become more work than it was fun due to COVID-19. Due to covid, it was a very rocky planning process. Callie helped me the entire way. Any questions I had were answered. On the day of the wedding Callie and Anne were so helpful and sweet. They made sure I had anything and everything I needed. They made sure no matter what that they had my back. They did amazing! My Fairy Godmother was Sara, not only is she sweet as can be, but her love of this job shines through her work especially on wedding day! She's super easy to get along with, she clicked with myself and my mom immediately! Colleen was the wedding planner for a very large wedding at our venue in February and I must say she was a dream to work with! If you are questioning if you need any help planning your wedding call Fairy Godmother! I originally just wanted a day of coordinator, but quickly realized I needed more help and upgraded to partial planning. Sara is our fairy and has been absolutely wonderful during this past year of planning. Everything has ran smoothly and she’s kept my stress level very low. She found us the best vendors who we love, made the most detailed day-of schedule, brought my decor Pinterest board to life, and covered all the small details I would’ve never thought of. Unfortunately, our venue cancelled 18 days before our wedding due to the COVID-19 outbreak. My fiancé and I were devastated, heartbroken and I began to panic. Sara helped us brainstorm our options, and we ultimately made the decision to postpone and find a date this fall. She was so compassionate during this emotional time and always reassured me that everything would be okay. As soon as I got off the phone with Sara that day, she was making phone calls to venues and all our vendors. Within 24 hours of our decision to postpone, she was able to secure a date in the month we wanted with ALL of our same vendors. Sara has been such a blessing to us and because of her, we still get to have our dream wedding with all our dream vendors. She is a miracle worker and we absolutely adore her!!

My fiance and I chose to hire Fairy Godmother after having their services recommended to us by my future mother-in-law. We knew that hiring a planner was important to us with our crazy schedules, but we had no idea how much help the whole team would be. 10 year customer and still thrilled with her services! I’ve personally witnessed brides who rented the wedding venue I owned be THRILLED with Fairygodmother Wedding and Event Planning’s services. My day of coordinator for my own wedding was more than just a day of coordinator, she was more than thrilling...she was a lifesaver. She handled tough situations between the bartender and I, the delicate family situations we had with extended family, helped me to setup, pay the vendors, fed me, helped me with planning, kept the music flowing, and everyone having an amazing night. Fairy Godmother is the absolute greatest. We had the honor and privilege of having Colleen and Sara as our fairies AKA our rock stars! Sara, the designer of our wedding, helped bring to life the wedding of my dreams. She is such an amazing artist and turned my basic ideas into masterpieces. She designed every aspect of our wedding perfectly and took every thought I had and made it into art. I am beyond grateful for her craft, skill, and talent! While Sara was the greatest designer I could have possibly met, my husband and I also had the opportunity to work with Colleen. Let me tell you: COLLEEN MADE OUR DAY PERFECT. She was so amazing in every aspect of the planning and day of. She timed our day our perfectly, kept all of our vendors informed, and had an answer for everything. I can't express enough the gratitude I have for Colleen and her team! From the start, they were very attentive and understanding. I was one of those bride who thought I could handle it all considering I am an event planner myself. Very long story short, three weeks before my wedding I decided to call The Fairy Godmother. Colleen managed to shuffle her staff around to ensure I was covered on for my wedding day. I found this to be a true blessing!!! My wedding was 350+ guest and she had me covered with out hesitation or limitations. On to the day of, it was truly magical, Denise Ferdinand and her team took care of me 110%!! My husband and I got married Feb 9, 2019 and it was the BEST DAY EVER!!!!!! We felt taken care of (and I know there were many details that were taken care of we don't even realize!). We were able to be much more cool, calm and collected the day of...and imagine this: we were even able to totally relish each moment knowing we were taken care of! Fairy Godmother allowed us to relax and be able to just enjoy the day. I can't imagine having gone through such a huge occasion without them: truly there were so many details to keep track of! Shoutout to Cassandra and Colleen for designing and creating the most special day for us, and for communicating so much the nine months that led up to the big day! We felt it to be the best day OF COURSE because we got to marry eachother...but it certainly didn't hurt that FG and vendors had put in so much hard work to make it a warm, inviting, gorgeous, detailed, customized to the "t", meaningful, unique, fun, and just the most special day! It was a dream to see all our ideas and visions of the day come alive, and FG made them even better. Even more rewarding was hearing from many guests how how welcome/taken care of they felt. It makes me SO happy that our guests felt honored and special on this momentous day. I repeatedly was also told how it was the most beautiful wedding many guests had been to, which was just so sweet and special to hear. Almost all vendors we booked were found by Fairy Godmother: each was simply phenomenal and the definition of professional. Fairy Godmother (not just "any" wedding planner) was the only way we were able to have the wedding and reception we were envisioning... We can only give the highest of recommendations. Truly no other wedding or event planners are as gifted or well-developed as a team, with the tastes and abilities they have. They are the best kept "Valley Secret"! We love you Fairy Godmother! Wow, where do I begin? Colleen was AMAZING for this OCD, detail obsessed, corporate professional. From our first meeting at The Cottage, to the fully journey of my wedding, and the day of, she obsessed every single just like I did. We chose a residential property for our wedding which meant: blank slate! There is no way that we could've gotten through the organization, budgeting, vendor management, bridal party coordination, and overall personal sanity without her. Her warm and welcoming demeanor, true passion for what she does, and authentic LOVE for her brides are what set her apart. Only having met her a few months ago, I just know that she is someone that will be in my life for a long time. She not only took care of my wedding but she took care of ME. At times, she served as my therapist while also providing the utmost of professional attention to our large wedding. Whether in Bakersfield or elsewhere, I would absolutely recommend Fairy Godmother. In fact, I've asked her if she can move to Oregon to organize my life full time now, too. :)

Having the Fairy Godmother team plan and coordinate our baby shower was the best decision! This is a very special time in our lives, and we were able to fully enjoy our loved ones. We were blown away by the fairy godmothers' kindness and ability to take care of EVERYTHING. They really covered us well and it felt like having close friends there with us. As mother of the bride, I appreciate all that the Fairy Godmother team were able to accomplish for us with savvy, fun, calm professionalism. I love all the wonderful vendors they do business with. They made, what turned out to be an outstanding event, easy for us. I’ve come to feel like a part of their team and am going to miss them. When we arrived after pictures at the church, the party was in full swing at the reception and our guests were having a blast. The transition from reception to dinner was genius and I credit that to Colleen and her team. They wowed a tough crowd...all our good friends, but tough in that a good majority have traveled the world, ‘been around the block a time or two’ and are now raving over everything about our wedding and reception. Most importantly, my daughter the bride, with Colleen’s team at the helm was able to relax and enjoy every minute of one of the most important days of her life, her wedding day. This review is challenging to write because it is difficult to find the words to accurately express just how over the top amazing Colleen and the Fairy Godmother staff were! Each and every time we met with Colleen We had so much fun. She was extremely knowledgeable and experienced, uplifting and fun, and made us feel like we were her only concern. Colleen gave us ideas we had not yet considered and was patient while we navigated the mountain of choices and decisions that were to be made. The amount of work Colleen and Fairy Godmother put in before the day of the wedding was impressive. Our special day was made even more special because of our choice to have Fairy Godmother plan our wedding. To say that Colleen and her staff went above and beyond his an understatement. I have had the pleasure of working with Colleen and her team for our Indian/Hindu Wedding on Nov 9th, 2018. Hiring Colleen as our wedding planner was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding. We were very impressed from the start until the very end with her level of professionalism, dedication towards making our event a success and caring for our every need. She is the reason why we even were able to get married on that day, given the wildfires at West Lake Village (our initial planned venue for the wedding). I am not sure how, but she and her team were able to relocate our wedding to a completely different venue, far away and safe from the Wild fires within a few hours. We (my husband and myself) and our guests were very impressed and thankful for all of their efforts. We were able to actually have the Indian/Hindu wedding that we were hoping for, including the surprise "Rolls-Royce Baraat" I had planned for my to-be husband. Colleen and her team are remarkable! Due to the Southern California Wildfires, the team needed to relocate an entire wedding party the morning of their big day. Our hotel in Marina del Rey was lucky enough to be able to take on the wedding that morning. In a matter of hours the Fairy Godmother wedding team made the entire event an absolute dream. All vendors (flowers, chairs, linen, photographer and DJ) and guests of the wedding were redirected to perfection due to the team's hard work and level heads. We would welcome them back any time! I once again had both the pleasure and honor of working alongside the Fairy Godmother team at a recent wedding, in this case, THE Fairy Godmother Colleen herself, along with Fairy Godmother Denise. I must say, as a DJ, I get spoiled working any event with which Fairy Godmother is involved. Their advance planning, event-day execution, and unerring attention to detail is what one would always expect at a top-notch event, but encounters only too rarely. This particular wedding was exceptinally out-of-the-box, yet as ever, Colleen and Denise carried the day in style, exceeding all expectations, and doing all with grace and aplomb. I cannot recommend Fairy Godmother too highly and look forward to our next event together with eager anticipation!

Where do I begin? We were lucky enough to have Colleen as our fairy godmother for our wedding. Our wedding was in Bakersfield and we live 2 hours away so I knew I needed help! I did plenty of research and after our first meeting, I knew she was the one. Throughout the process Colleen made sure to Skype or have phone conversations periodically since we were not able to meet in person. She helped me stay organized and made me feel comfortable. I had a huge wedding party (12 groomsmen and 12 bridesmaids; yeah I know Haha) and during my rehearsal the church coordinator was having a difficult time but Colleen kindly and gently stepped in to help. Mind you, this was my first time meeting her in person. Her calm and sweet presence is THE BEST. And on my wedding day. LET. ME. TELLLL YOU. She was my hero. From providing me with a last minute garter, keeping me and my 12 bridesmaids organized and prompt, assisting the photographer with locations, transporting me and my husband to the venue (and taking us to chipotle haha that was fun), finding my original garter just in time, making sure all our vendors were fed, ensuring everything was on time... I can go on. On the wedding day she had a team of 2 other coordinators and they all rocked it! Colleen even made sure she had Spanish speaking coordinators with her because most of my family is Spanish speaking. I was so relaxed and enjoyed every moment on my wedding day and it's thanks to Colleen and her wonderful team. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you so much!!

I had 8 months to plan my wedding so I knew I would need a coordinator, I was assigned to Sara & from the very beginning she was always prompt. Numerous calls & texts throughout the whole process & she ALWAYS got back to me within minutes. Fast forward to the day of my wedding, Sara was truly amazing. I could sit here & write an essay on how perfect she was. Never in my life have I felt so special. I wish that I could go back to that day just so I could relive those moments with her. She made me feel like a celebrity. If I was thirsty she had a water or some kind of beverage in front of me within seconds. If I needed to reapply lipstick she had it on her reapplying it for me. (Funny story) I needed bug spray because there were mosquitoes & I thought “that’s impossible who would think to bring bug spray” & within a minute she was spraying me with bug repellent. Nothing went wrong the day of & if it did I had no idea because her main priority was to make ME happy. & she did just that. At the end of the night when she gave me a hug & told me she was leaving I felt like I had to say bye to a friend. The whole experience was truly one I will never forget & Sara is the one who I need to thank for that. Both my husband & I give her all the credit for making our wedding the one of our dreams. In fact, I didn’t even dream of it being so perfect but Sara made it an event that people will never forget. Sara is truly the best & if you have a choice on who you can choose for your fairy, please pick her!

My husband & I want to thank Denise Ferdinand who was our devoted "Fairy Godmother" for our 3/24/18 wedding. She was incredible in all aspects during our 6 months of planning! She took us under her "magical wings" and enabled us to have a 100% stress free and elegant wedding and reception which was a dream come true of us! She set up all our vendors' meetings at which she attended all with us. Denise diligently made sure all vendors' areas met with our approval prior to any billing or payments were to made! Plus, she made many creative and elegant suggestions at these meetings which added to our memorable day! Denise had our wedding day and reception "time line" set up accurately from 8AM to 5PM so as to eliminate any "rushed / stressed feelings" for us! We were able arrive on time without any added stress for our wedding Mass as well as arrival on time to our elegant reception after photos were taken! She was totally magical during both events as well as always "rather unnoticed" but always "behind the scenes" checking to make sure all was running smoothly from A to Z in all aspects of "our wedding day"! After we departed from our 5 hour reception, our wedding party as well as the Riverlakes manager mentioned to us weeks later, that Denise remained behind to make sure that all was finalized as well as "double checked" that all of our wedding gifts were designated properly to where we previously appointed them to be taken according to our contract with Denise. Denise was extremely well -focused and caring for the 6 months of organizing and planning our "dream wedding day"! She sincerely loved seeing the joy on our faces as well as enjoyed observing all our guests (of which we had 122 guests = local as well as from out of state) celebrating with us for our total wedding day from 9AM to 5PM. Honestly, thanks to Denise Ferdinand our "dream come true wedding day" was stress free as well as a 100% beautiful and lasting memory for us! She is truly a "magical Fairy Godmother" in all aspects! Bless her forever!!! If we ever need another major event to be planned or to refer to any friends for their event, Denise Ferdinand from Fairy Godmother's will be our only choice!
