Lauren is absolutely amazing! She is by far the most talented Cake Decorator/Baker in the DFW area. She made a beautiful cake for me but went above and beyond to help me surprise my Groom with a LIFE SIZE cake of his Dog (Nestle) made of not cake but BROWNIE because of his love for brownies. His cake totally stole the show . My cake was a beautiful 5 tiered cake with 3D fondant flowers that matched my dress. It was absolutely incredible! Lauren needs to be your choice for your wedding cake vendor.

Have you ever seen the incredibly realistic looking cakes of dogs? My daughter wanted to surprise her "then fiance" with a replica of his dog, Nestle, for the groom's cake. When the groom saw the cake, he was literally brought to tears! To say that Lauren delivered is an understatement! "Nestle" was at the wedding in all his glory and guests literally had to be told it was a cake. They thought it was a statue! Guests throughout the wedding were taking photos and video of the groom's cake. It was definitely a highlight of the event. This is not to say the bride's cake was not beautiful as well, but having a cake like the "Nestle" cake made my daughter's wedding even more of a special event than it already was! If you are blessed enough to be able to schedule Lauren for your wedding, do so! Of all the "add-ons" that you consider for a wedding, this is the one that will have the greatest impact. Lauren will elevate your event to a whole new level!!!!

Lauren was contracted by our venue to make our wedding cake because the venue’s pastry kitchen was closed due to COVID. I found her work and decided to have her make a groom’s cake too (themed after The Office). Her work was absolutely amazing on detailing and design, and the cakes were delicious! The groom’s cake can be a splurge, but it’s a great added touch.

If you want a GORGEOUS wedding cake (that actually tastes phenomenal and doesn't break the bank!) you have to book with Fancy Cakes by Lauren. She and her team made the EXACT cake I was hoping for, but I think the best thing about booking them was how great the are to work with. You get a sample box of 5 flavors to try at home (most places CHARGE for this) and we honestly had a hard time picking what we wanted because they were all so yummy! Her store manager, Melinda, was so responsive to all of my messages/questions and I honestly felt like I was in great hands the entire time. They even did a mini dessert table for us which was a huge hit at the reception. All of our guests even commented on how great the cake and mini desserts tasted and were so sad when it was all gone. Well done, team! Could not recommend them more highly.

We had already booked a baker well ahead of our wedding day, but last minute was told they were going out of business. They referred us to Lauren, who was able to accommodate a tasting, adopt the design we had created, and even honor the price (it would've been much more expensive) we had set with the original baker! Oh, and the cake was delicious!

Fancy Cakes by Lauren was GREAT to work with! We had our prior cake vendor cancel the month before and Fancy Cakes by Lauren took our order and made it exactly like we wanted. They were so helpful and delivered the cake right on time. Not to mention the cake was delicious with many of our guests telling us it was the best cake they have ever had. They are so helpful and easy to work with and deliver an amazing looking cake that tastes so good. I cannot recommend them enough!

I used Fancy Cakes by Lauren for my wedding cake and couldn't be happier! Lauren made the wedding cake process a breath of fresh air during all the chaos of planning a wedding. I had a dream of a very traditional elegant white wedding cake that had attributes from my grandparents wedding cake. I knew that this wasn't an easy task and Lauren would be the only one to make this vision a reality. Lauren exceeded all expectations as the cake was even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Not only did it look amazing, but it tasted just as good as it looked. During the cake testing, we loved all of the choices and had a very hard time choosing because all the flavors tasted so wonderful. Lauren was an absolute joy to work with and did her part to my make my minimalist vision come true. My only frustration was that the delivery didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped and we ended up with a cracked cake. I would still recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren just stay on top of the delivery!

Simply amazing! The wedding cake was perfect! Exceeded all our expectations and my daughter was so happy! It tasted great as well. So many guests commented how wonderful the cake tasted. Lauren is a spectacular person and can make some bomb wedding cakes. Not only do they look like a millions bucks but they taste amazing, which I think is hard to do. Lauren’s team is also great and very accommodating, I missed our first appointment and they let me take home the tasting pieces to try with my mom and fiancé, then we met in person and could have stayed there all day. I told her what I wanted and she had a way of pulling it out of me and making it come to life. My husbands mother cried when she saw his grooms cake! Highly recommend Lauren and her team.

Lauren is the best person to work with. She will do anything to make your day special. My cakes were beautiful and all my guests raved about them. She made my wedding cake a beautiful watercolor design, and the grooms cake was a yeti cooler. It was awesome. Also, they tasted amazing. She made my day perfect! You will not regret choosing this company for your cake.

I remember when I was doing the tastings, the thing that stood out to me was how they were so accommodating. My fiance (at the time) and I worked completely opposite schedules. Both of us had recently started a new job and we could not take off of work. I was working 7-4 and he was working 10-7 and each of us had every other Saturday off (and of course it would be the opposite Saturday). Lauren and her team made sure that we were able to getting a tasting in. As soon as I tasted her cake; I was in love for the second time. Every step of the way Lauren and her team were able to guide my fiance and I through the process. The final product came out beautiful and it tasted as good as it looked. I will highly recommend Fancy Cakes by Lauren to all of me friends and you too! If you want a fantastic cake that looks good and tastes better I would get one from Fancy Cakes by Lauren.

Lauren was absolutely amazing! She made us an all gluten free wedding cake and it was incredible. It is very difficult to make gluten free dessert taste good but she accepted the challenge and made our cake perfect! We couldn’t be happier. Recommend her for all cake needs! Especially gluten free cake needs. She is the best!

Lauren was amazing! My wedding cake was gorgeous and tasted even better! When we went for the tasting, she and my husband came up with a design for his cake that i was less than thrilled with, but it turned out beautifully and I was very impressed!

Lauren is absolutely amazing! She was able to take all our crazy ideas and turn them into the most perfect wedding cakes! Lauren made us a gigantic Imperial Walker from Star Wars and it was incredible. My jaw hit the floor when she delivered it. Lauren is fun to work with and is extremely gifted. Lauren has done all of the weddings and several other events for our family. Her cakes taste as great as they look. Would highly recommend!

Lauren is AMAZING! She's exceptionally talented, and so friendly and fun to work with. At the cake consultation, she was able to take all my ideas as a bride, and sketch out my dream wedding cake. Not to mention that the cake sampling was the BEST by far. DELICIOUS!! When we finally saw the cake on our big day, it was even more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. Dreamy... and perfect! Guests at our wedding gasped when they saw the cake, and commented how tasty all the different layers were. We froze the leftovers, and ate on it for weeks. YUM!!! Lauren is hands down the best in the business - especially when it comes to 3-d cakes. I wanted to surprise my now husband with a Formula 1 race car cake. I was so nervous because if you've ever googled race car cakes, you see tons cheesy looking pinterest gone wrong attempts. Lauren took our grooms cake to a whole new level - it was literally a spitting image of the Formula 1 race car. The look on my husband's face when he first saw his cake was priceless and one of the best parts of the day. He loved it so much he refused to let us cut it and now almost two weeks later it's sitting our our counter as he refused to throw it away! Thank you so much, Lauren for helping me surprise my groom with this stellar cake!

Lauren was our FAVORITE vendor to work with! She is one of the nicest people and her amazing cakes are just the icing on top (no pun intended). We had trouble deciding our cake flavors at our tasting because they were ALL so yummy! I knew the exact design of my cake in my head and when I described it to her she sketched it out right then and there and said she could do it no problem! Our cake was the show-stopper at our 400 person wedding! All of our guests wanted to take pictures with it!

My husband and I were married in Cabo but had a small reception in Dallas and still wanted to have a big cake. We told Lauren our situation and she provided us with exactly what we wanted! She sketched the outline and design of the cake during our consult. She was able to show us plenty of options so we were able to pick the perfect one. The cake flavors were tasted were amazing! Very moist and flavorful. It was definitely difficult to pick which flavor we wanted. The cake was delivered on time to our reception and looked and tasted amazing! I'm so excited to have the top on our 1 year anniversary. I would definitely recommend using Fancy Cakes. Lauren and her staff are so nice and helpful and make you feel so comfortable! We went to several cake tastings, and it was obvious that we wanted to Lauren to do our cakes. Not only was the cake so much tastier, but Lauren was so easy to work with, and her prices couldn't be beat! During our consult she sketched the ideas of our cake, and we were so excited to see them. On the day of I got to see Lauren setting up and was thrilled with the end results, they were perfect! The guests loved the cake, and we have already started on the top tier-oops, it is too yummy to resist!

As you can see by the flood of reviews, Lauren and her team are truly special! From our very first meeting, she was so fun and easy to talk to- she made me even more excited about my wedding than I already was! I wore a pale pink wedding dress with ruffles on the bottom, and I wanted a cake to match. Not only did Lauren PERFECTLY capture my vision, the cake was sooo delicious- definitely not your standard wedding cake! I can't wait to eat our frozen pieces in a few more weeks : ) Lauren was amazing and we were lucky to be able to have our cake made by someone so incredibly talented!

Won-Der-Ful, is all I can say about Fancy Cakes. From our first meeting with Lauren to our first bite of cake while flying to our honeymoon destination everything was nothing short of fantastic! Talking with Lauren about what we each wanted for our cakes, we felt like we were chatting with an old friend. She was so happy and excited for us as though she had known us for years. My husband had quite the request for his cake. He is a huge comic book fan and he wanted his cake to really showcase his chosen character and Lauren did not disappoint! He was blown away and truly delighted to see his vision sitting on the cake table. She listened and included every detail that was important to each of us. My cake, which called for texture and color changes was amazing as well. Oh and in case you were wondering, not only were they perfectly designed but they tasted AMAZING as well.

We loved Fancy Cakes by Lauren! The cake was out of this world! Lauren was amazing to work with and had great ideas. She even helped me surprise my groom with a groom's cake that he absolutely loved! All of our guests commented on how delicious the cake was!

They did a great job. Although I did not eat a slice of cake at my own wedding, many people told me how great it was. Lauren came to move the cake during the room flip which was fantastic. The cakes looked great and Lauren did an awesome job sketching out the design during our initial meeting!

Lauren has one of the kindest hearts I have dealt with in 7 years of being a wedding vendor. We had an event planned, and due to family health issues, we had to cancel it. I was devastated, not only about the event canceling, but not getting to personally work with her. She is incredibly busy and somehow managed to sit down and talk with me personally, listen, and make our situation right. I can't wait to work with her in the future, and will definitely be sending my brides her way. I'm still in happy tears after todays conversation with her.

The cakes were delicious. We have not stopped receiving compliments from our guests. The baker was easy to work with and very creative. She was able to do exactly what we wanted.

Lauren is the absolute best! From our first meeting with her to delivery our cake, she is the nicest and most caring person! We went all over town looking for a someone to make my groom a Batman cake, but no one could do what we wanted, until we met with Lauren. The excitement she had when just talking about the cake made us have to have her make it. She did everything she could to fit our budget, but went above and beyond our wildest expectations! The Batman cake was so realistic and so much more than we asked for that I literally almost cried when I saw it and could not stop hugging her! That cake made my groom so happy and was one of the best parts of our wedding! We can't thank Lauren!

We used Fancy Cakes by Lauren because they were who our venue works with, but we were very pleased with what we got! When we went in for cake tasting, it was so delicious that my husband and I had a hard time deciding. When I went in to work on design with Lauren, she made it extremely easy and delivered exactly what I was hoping for. The only thing that bothered me was that they were very difficult to get in touch with- nearly impossible by phone but I finally started communicating with them through email and that was quite a bit easier. Great cake and great people!

After having taken several classes from Lauren, I knew that she was the one to make our wedding cakes. We had a classy Star Wars themed wedding reception, so of course, our cakes needed to reflect that. The wedding cake had subtle hints of Star Wars using various emblems and our wedding colors. The groom's cake absolutely blew everyone away, especially the groom. We asked Lauren to make a replica of a lightsaber hilt that my now-husband received from working on the video game. It turned out amazing. We still continue to get compliments on her cakes! Lauren is so easy to work with and so down to earth. Her cakes taste just as good as they look!

Our wedding cake looked and tasted amazing!! Our guests said it was the best cake they have ever tasted. We chose the amaretto flavor which I highly recommend :)

The cakes were a little more than other places but totally worth it. Everyone is still asking me about them even after the wedding!

We went with the white chocolate cake. It was amazing. Everyone was raving about it!!! We wanted more. It also looked great!!! Lauren is the best! 

After taste testing a few other bakers in the DFW area, I chose Fancy Cake by Lauren. At my tasting appointment I sat with Lauren herself not someone who would take notes and pass it on. The brides cake - I came in with a small bit of information and a basic idea of what I wanted. Lauren worked with me and got to know me and made some suggestions and I loved what she offered. The wedding cake turned out beautiful and honestly was something I would have designed had I held a single artistic bone in my body. The Grooms cake - I went in with almost NO idea on what I wanted. She worked with me to develop a plan that would work for my groom and my budget. The idea morphed and evolved 2-3 times and finally we settled with a replica of a Star Wars XBox that was just released. Going off of prototype pictures I provided Lauren and her team duplicated the Xbox true to life and true to scale. It was amazing!!!

Lauren was such a pleasure to work with. I knew I was going to have a somewhat complicated groom's cake and she immediately had several ideas and sketches that matched perfectly what I was envisioning. The wedding cake turned out beautiful as well and both of them were delicious. She was flexible on the pricing as well - initially her estimate was way over my budget but she came off the price some to accommodate me. Overall I was very pleased with everything.m

I will start by saying the cake taste was good, won't take that away from this business, that is the ONLY reason she got a star...However the design of the cake was NOT anything what was discussed and ordered and this was after reverifying paticulars before the wedding. I went with this vendor due to I wanted a show piece for my daughters wedding and seeing her on food network she was our choice between 3 vendors...the first vendor we loved the cake but just didn't think she could pull off the vision...2nd vendor we knew she could pull off the vision but the tasting did not match the tasting of the other two vendors so we went with Fancy Cakes. Lauren gave us a sketch of the cake that was suppose to be just that a sketch...the cake was suppose to be pearlized with lots and lots of detailing (the exact verbage my daughter used) and it was suppose to have a layered sugar crystal chandalier (Laurens idea). The cake was delivered we were not advised just delivered and set up without our knowledge, when I went to view the reception area my heart sank but not wanting to ruin my daughters moment I didnt say a word besides what could be done the vendor had left...The cake looked like it was done at grocery store bakery...you could not see the pearlization...the so called sugar bead chandelier was a row of plastic beads...A friend that went to the tasting actually pulled me aside and stated to me this is not the cake I heard you ordered...I agreed totally with her...AFTER the wedding I contacted Lauren and there was plenty of excuses...The design was exactly what she had drawn (so be sure she draws EXACTLY what you want because the sketch at the meeting is what you will get)even though she assured my daughter there would be lots and lots of detailing...the pearlization she stated she could not help it did not show up on the buttercream icing that we ordered (her being the expert she should have advised us on how it would appear on a buttercream iced cake) and the sugar bead chandalier it had rained that week and the weather did not permit for that to be made...I actually had an email to her staff inquiring about the chandalier to be sure they had not forgotten it and was assured there would be a sugar bead chandalier...I understand problems arising but picking up the phone or sending me an e-mail regarding any or all of these problems would have allowed me to make a decision on how I wanted it handled. I am just thankful my daughters venue, dress, and flowers were so AWESOME so it took away from this cake that I now refer to as a bad craft project...When I contacted her concerning how awful everything was she refunded me 250.00 which I look at was a refund for the topper she was suppose to recreate next year for my daughters 1 year anniversary... If this business makes cookies I would not even by a cookie from them. Dont let them ruin your wedding cake, find another cake store or go to the grocery store it will turn out the same at half the cost.

Fancy Cakes by Lauren was awesome, easy, convenient, and undoubtedly have the largest selection of the best looking wedding cakes of all time. These cakes are pricey, but I will say they are helpful in providing you options for achieving your specific “cake budget.” Lauren is super friendly and indisputably talented and her staff was both dependable and responsive. I would definitely recommend!

The cake was gorgeous, the attention to detail was incredible. She is worth the cost, her staff was incredibly helpful the entire process. Once we talked about the design, I had no worries, they showed up on time. They did everything and then some. I was so impressed and thats saying something because I decorate cakes and wanted this one to be perfect thats why I hired Lauren

Excellent!!!!! Amazing wedding cakes....both taste and appearance. We were so happy with both of our wedding cakes.

Our reception venue had Fancy Cakes by Lauren listed as a preferred vendor. We did a tasting and discussed the designs of the bride and grooms cakes in detail. The bride cake was supposed to look like my dress. They had a photo of my dress, but the cake didn't really turn out the way I expected. It was only 4 tiers (nothing huge, and it was leaning! I noticed it at the reception and it is really obvious in our photos. The grooms cake was also not what we expected. I had really high expectations for this vendor. I saw the "food network" logo and assumed this was a top wedding cake vendor. Altogether, I was disappointed.

The selection was great! The cake was great! Lauren was terffic! She modified one of her basic designs to fit our needs. There was no communication about the delivery but it was there before we got there so no problems there.

What really drew me to her was that not only did she used fondant on her cakes, but she also used good 'ol fashion buttercream! Which I think makes a wedding cake more enjoyable to eat. Knowing I wanted a chocolate cake and my then fiance wasn't sure what he wanted, we came to a great compromise. My fiance and I chose two flavors that we both liked and complimented each other; the only thing was we were only having one cake. With that Lauren mentioned having the two layers for each tier different. Then my fiance came up with the idea to marble the two flavors so they intertwined with each other! Needless to say the cake tasted amazing (words from others not me, i didn't get to really taste the cake) It was described as a chocolate orange you eat during the holidays but not as pungent.

We were pretty underwhelmed with our cake. When we met with her and she sketched it up, it sounded like it was going to be stunning - but once it arrived, it really had no impact. One of the main reasons we chose Fancy Cakes was because in addition to our main cake, we needed a gluten free cake for cutting because I have celiac disease. At the tasting, the gluten free cake was delicious. At the wedding... well, first off, the "cake" was more like 2 cupcakes. They looked silly sitting next to the other cake, which looked pretty weak in and of itself. And secondly, I'm pretty sure they had been baked a couple of weeks before then frozen. Anyone who has to eat gluten free knows the importance of baked goods being as fresh as possible. I called about a week before the wedding to see if the GF cake would feed at least 5 bc in addition to me, we had several guests who needed it. The person on the phone put me on hold, then came back and said that yes, it looked like they would feed that many. Seemed to me that she had literally gone and looked at the cake. ...They didn't feed 5, which is probably for the best because the cake was not good at all.
