My husband and I had our reception at the Fargo Air Museum and it was a fantastic spot! All of our guests loved the location and since I'm a big history buff, having a unique venue with a focus on history was a huge plus for me. They worked well with me and my mom to accommodate our vision. There was some miscommunication early on in the process. We had wanted to get married in the separate hanger and had told them our guest count of up to 250. It wasn't until later that we were told that our guest count was too high for that other hanger. We ended up finding a different space to have the ceremony. But after that little hiccup, everything worked out great.
It was a unigue place with a great atmosphere and with the hanger door open our wedding reception could flow outside, which was great for a warm summer night.
As a bride who payed to hold her a wedding at this venue I felt as though I was an inconveniece to them. They expressed concern about the amount of kids attending which was disappointing as we thought it would be a kid friendly venue. They also gave us minimal time to set up and started tearing down decorations and tables half way through the dance making it feel as though they just wanted us out of there. They were also overly concerned about the guests drinking alcohol. At a wedding dance that should be expected, so if you arent' comfortable with it then don't rent out your venue for those sorts of gatherings.
Although everything turned out and we had a fun time, I was pretty disappointed with the service and the way I was treated.
This venue was absolutely beautiful. At times the staff seemed to misunderstand where we wanted everything and didn't seem to be as concerned about the event as they did about being open for business. Their main goal at the air museum is to showcase air planes that were used for various parts of history. I think that they do a great job at this but they seem to try and cross over into events that they are not totally prepared for. They didn't want us to set up until the day of the wedding and they didn't want to move air planes until the morning of the wedding so that was a little challenging. However, the evening turned out beautiful and it was a great atmosphere for our guests.
