Fariba and her team were clear on timelines, costs, made suggestions when I needed help, and were so friendly. I highly recommend Fariba for any of your needs!

Fariba is the best! She helped with so many alterations and dresses for our wedding and was able to help me when my dress arrived and did not fit. She saved the day! She was also able to help restore my mother's head piece so I could wear it on my wedding day. Cannot thank Fariba enough!

After reading and hearing such rave reviews about Fariba I was excited to bring a silk gown to be altered in hopes that I had indeed found a magic seamstress who I could take my wedding dress to. I'm glad I brought a gown and not a wedding dress for my first appointment with Fariba. I would not recommend this business, the alterations made were acceptable but no better than any other seamstress and cheap materials were used for snaps and fasteners which I'm sure will need to be replaced after a couple of wears. Fariba is a very nice woman and so was her assistant, but the person I had to interface with the most during my appointments was like. astonishingly unkind. I thought maybe this woman had mistook me for someone she deeply loathed. It made the whole experience awkward and uncomfortable and when I went to pick up the dress and noticed they had not made one of the alterations I had requested I was really frazzled and panicked and she only made me feel worse and stupid. I didn't think I was going to get to take the dress home with me but Fariba was able to make the alteration that had been missed in under an hour. However, I was so upset and flustered (and really didn't think I was going to be able to wear this gown to the event I had bought it for) that I didn't do a good job helping Fariba make the measurements to make the adjustments and now its too tight to wear. It's silk and unforgiving, there is also now a snag and run in the patterned silk that wasn't there when I brought it. I would definitely not recommend silk gowns be altered here. Fariba is a really nice lady and the work was acceptable. It would have been fine and I wouldn't have been compelled to write a review but it was really expensive, the mean lady made it really hard to enjoy the experience, and when I noticed the missing alteration she immediately blamed me, even though when she was checking me out after my first appointment I had specifically asked if this small adjustment had made it on to the list. She assured me Fariba had it, which she didn't and is fine, but I really did try to say to this woman "it looks like one adjustment is missing from that list, can you confirm with Fariba" and she didn't and then blamed me for not telling Fariba. It was just the weirdest experience and I'm going to have to take this dress to a different seamstress to fix the last minute alteration. I'm surprised reviews are as glowing as they are and felt compelled to share my experience.

Fariba is a genius, wizard, expert, etc. I seriously cannot recommend her enough. Anything you need altered or tailored, no matter how big or small, you can absolutely trust Fariba. You always hear these horror stories of wedding gown alterations gone wrong, so of course I was nervous about dropping off my dress. Fariba instantly erased my fears. She and her team are an army of experts, with extremely talented and experienced hands. She took my dress that I was already in love with and when she was done altering it, it was like it was sewn together on my body, that's how perfect it was. The length, perfect. The bustle was BEAUTIFUL. She did a French bustle, so the detailing in the back was preserved. I had a very fitted dress and she altered it in a way that really showed off my figure but gave me tons of movement for dancing. I never want to take it off. Fariba, thank you. Your work made me feel like a princess. You are amazing.

Fariba and her team were nothing but professional, patient, and helpful. My dress required more appointments than I had ever imagined (did not think it needed as much work as it did!), and I was so grateful for their ongoing support throughout the process. The alterations were not cheap, but Fariba and her team did a great job and I would use them again!

She helped guide you through the process, has the best fabrics for wedding dresses, and the work is so well done. She executed it perfectly. I couldn’t recommend her more. I was so nervous about finding the perfect alteration company after purchasing my dream dress. Once I had visited Fariba, all those nerves disappeared. The staff there were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. Their talent and experience really showed in the completion of my dress. They made it fit perfectly, and the hem and bustle were perfect! I highly recommend.

This shop is professional, attentive, and experienced. They tailored my wedding dress as well as adding a bustle and removable underskirt, and they did a beautiful job. I also brought my gown back to them after the wedding to have it cleaned for resale. Their prices are comparable to other wedding dress alterations in the area.

I wouldn't trust anyone else in coastal VA to alter my dress! I drove from Hampton to see Fariba and her team because I heard they were the best, and they definitely exceeded all of my expectations! My dress was altered to perfection! These ladies knew every single thing that needed to be done before I could even figure our which part of my dress didn't fit right. I was in tears during my final dress fitting because it was so beautiful and perfect. Fariba has been so sweet and loving throughout this entire process, and I couldn't thank her and her team enough! If you need your dress altered in Richmond, you NEED to go to Fariba Bridal Alterations! I had purchased a sample wedding dress in Pittsburgh and brought it to Fariba's. First, they hemmed my dress and added additional crinoline layers. My wedding was in October 2020, and I brought my dress to them in January. During that time, I had lost weight, which led to Fariba needing to almost reconstruct my dress's entire bodice! This dress was a very fitted mermaid dress with a long train. She did an AMAZING job with this! I looked gorgeous on the day of my wedding and knew it was a PERFECT fit. Also, Fariba and all of her staff are incredibly nice. They are only looking to make you happy. If I had a slight concern during any of my fittings, Fariba would address it and help solve my nerves. My wedding was in Pennsylvania, and Fariba's team did a fantastic job helping lay my dress for transport. They steamed it here and loaded it into my car. When we got to Pennsylvania, there was not one single wrinkle in my dress. In addition, they made a veil for me that worked great with my dress. I could not be happier with the service provided.

I decided to have my dress custom-made, since I wanted a very light and simple dress and couldn’t find that anywhere. The dress they made for me was perfect and everything I wanted. It had all the beautiful things I wanted (lace back, a detachable train, and a sash), but also fit SO perfectly and putting it on was so smooth and are easy. Whether you need something made or just need an alteration, they’ll make sure it fits perfectly and looks how you want it to look.

Fariba made all my wedding dress dreams come true!!! I have always known that I wanted to wear my mom’s dress. My mom was married over 30 years ago, so I was disappointed but not surprised to find that the dress was very yellow. It also wouldn’t zip up in the back, so I took it into Fariba with low hopes. However, Fariba was such a godsend. She assured me that she could completely re-do the dress to make it exactly how I wanted it. And she did!! She somehow made it vibrantly white and was even able to re-use all the material from my mom’s dress. Fariba completely understood my vision and brought it to life. I had multiple fittings because she wanted to make sure everything was absolutely perfect. I am so thankful that my wedding planner recommended Fariba! She was also a joy to work with and be around. If you are looking for someone to alter a wedding dress you bought or to completely re-do an old wedding dress, Fariba is your girl. Thank you, Fariba, for the amazing service!!

The outside of my dress looks amazing, and my bustle works great! Went to have bridal portraits done and you could see the boob pads hanging out of the side of my dress. They only had two stitches holding them in place which wasn’t working. I noticed that the stitching internal was very loose and looked as if it might come apart. They had to get internal of the chest part and could have easily just placed the boob pads inside where you couldn’t see them. For paying almost $700, the job on my dress does not show the money I spent.

Fariba is the best! She was a highlight of the wedding planning process...I always felt at ease and knew that she was handling my dress perfectly. It was so nice knowing my dress was in great hands! Also, I was planning our Richmond wedding from afar and, in that process, found it funny how inflexible vendors could be to certain days/times...not Fariba! She was so flexible with me and was so kind to allow me to come in outside of normal business hours. That type of service made me comfortable she'd go above and beyond to make sure my dress was perfect and she did - my dress fit perfectly and the bustle was so easy! So happy I entrusted my alterations with Fariba!

I have to say, I was really nervous about getting my dress altered. I had ordered a dress with an empty illusion top that I wanted to have lace added to by Fariba. I was so afraid that I wasn’t going to be able to achieve the look I was after, and I had never worked with a seamstress before. Let me just say that Fariba put ALL of my concerns to rest. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, as was the rest of her staff. Fariba met my requests with enthusiasm and expertise. I was able to describe what I wanted, and leave her enough creative liberty to achieve a beautiful look. The results were absolutely incredible. Additionally, Fariba made my veil herself - using the leftover lace from my dress. And the veil was absolutely perfect. She was fun to work with, she made me laugh, and I am over the moon with the results. Definitely recommend her and her team to any bride looking to have alterations done!

Fariba is so amazing I can barely even describe it in words. She went so far above & beyond. My dress wasn’t quite what I had pictured. It was gorgeous, but I just didn’t get a good picture of it from my first try on at the bridal salon. I thought I could take some crinoline out & it would be flowy & perfect. But it was so heavy. It couldn’t get tight enough to hold it up & feel like it wasn’t falling. Fariba tried EVERYTHING to make it work for me. Finally she suggested trying to switch the fabric of the whole skirt of the gown. All I can say is my dress was everything I dreamed of & it is all thanks to Fariba. Please choose her if you are shopping around. You will not regret it!

10 STARS!!!! Fariba was magnificent!! Her skill, patience and kindness were above and beyond. My sister had her wedding dress altered here. It was a difficult alteration...the dress was too big, too long and ultimately too heavy. Fariba listened carefully, explained thoughtfully, and worked quickly to achieve the perfect fit and comfort level. Ultimately, she changed the entire under-structure of the dress...including switching the under-layer fabric from satin to organza and raising the torso of the bodice to give my sister more modesty. The dress still looked exactly as it did when my sister first tried it on and fell in love, but it now fit and moved in a way that made my sister so happy. My mother and I also got our dresses altered and pressed at the same time. Her team was able to accommodate group fittings and made sure all the dresses were ready at the same time. All three of us were extremely happy with the service and product. Thank you Fariba! I have told all my friends to come here should they need anything altered and I cannot recommend her more highly.

I absolutely LOVED working with Fariba. They were all so kind and made the process stress free. I had an intricately beaded gown that needed to be hemmed while maintaining a chevron pattern and did it beautifully. They also came up with some great solutions for getting in, and bustling a very heavy gown.

Fariba and her team are amazing. They are flexible with scheduling and go to great lengths to make sure their work is done right. My dress had to be taken in two sizes and they did a fantastic job. The detailing was seamless and the straps they made for me looked like they came straight from the designer. Quality work.

Fariba and her staff are amazing!!! I live an hour away from their store, but gladly made the drive for my wedding dress alternations because it was obvious that they knew what they were doing and actually took pride in their work. They took into consideration what I wanted with my dress and their expertise helped guide me. I was referred to Fariba by Annalise Bridal for alterations. I live 2.5 hours away so to come in for fittings, it took a lot of coordination and flexibility. Fariba and all the ladies who work at the shop and Diley who I would talk whenever I called were wonderful, kind, friendly, and helpful. They did a great job altering my dress. They were amazing to work with. Everything went so smoothly with Fariba's shop and the alterations. All the alterations turned out beautifully. They were also extremely flexible when it came to my appointments. I am so happy and fortunate to have had Fariba do my wedding dress alterations. I also bought a wedding dress belt from Fariba that was perfectly sewed into my dress. It was beautiful!! It was such a smooth experience going to Fariba. I cannot express just how thankful I was for my overwhelmingly positive experience with getting my wedding dress tailored by Fariba! I loved the dress when I got it, but it needed a lot of changes, and she turned a beautiful dress into an even lovelier dress that looked tailored to me and custom to my style. She is incredibly talented, listens intently to all your needs and dreams/visions, and she continues to work on it if you are not satisfied. She was timely, easy to schedule with, great to get along with, and I even had her make a few keepsake handkerchiefs out of the dress materials. Do not look anywhere else for wedding dress alterations, Fariba is the best and it's worth the price to get it done right.

Fariba is absolutely wonderful. The entire team is amazing. My dress couldn't have turned out any better. She attached cap sleeves for me and made a veil that matched perfectly with my dress. Fariba did the alterations for my wedding down, my sister's maid of honor dress and my mom's mother of the bride dress. Never have I met a more detailed and talented seamstress. Our dresses were flawless and she went the extra mile after my wedding to make sure that repairs were made prior to cleaning and preservation so that, if it is ever needed again, my dress is in perfect condition. If I ever need alterations for a big occasion, I would travel hours to work with Fariba again. There is no doubt that she is the best!

Fariba did a fantastic job with the alterations on my wedding dress! It fit absolutely perfectly and she was very flexible with scheduling fittings since I live out of state. Not only were the alterations on my dress great, but she also altered my sister's wedding dress (her wedding was 6 weeks after mine), altered my mom's dress for the wedding, made monogrammed handkerchiefs for the men, and modified (and updated) a family veil that my sister and I both wore for our weddings, all of which turned out fantastically. I would without question recommend Fariba!

Fariba is wonderful. She made me feel very comfortable during the alterations process, and she made my bridal gown fit like it was made just for me. It really ended up fitting like a glove on my special day, and it looked absolutely perfect in pictures. I only needed one fitting and one final fitting/gown pick-up appointment to make sure everything was perfect, and it was! Now I am going to be in my best friend's wedding and am taking my bridesmaid gown to her as well to alter -- I wouldn't trust anyone else! She is great!

Without Fariba, I wouldn't have a wedding dress! When my dress came in months late--just a couple weeks before my wedding--and was not the dress I ordered, Fariba fixed it! She essentially created the entire bodice of the gown herself, so quickly, and was so flexible and helpful throughout the entire process. The craftsmanship is superb. I would recommend Fariba to anyone needing any alterations, and would never go anywhere else myself. She was my hero!

Fariba did an excellent job altering my wedding dress. I bought the sample size off the floor of a very detailed allure couture gown and usually wear a size 2 but when she was done altering it you would have thought it had been made for me! I highly recommend her for your wedding dress needs!
