My husband and I got married at Farmhouse 1849 in September 2024, and I truly could not have asked for a more spectacular weekend.
From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. We rented out the house on the property, which was ideal for our wedding party to stay together and get ready the morning of the wedding. It made the entire experience feel relaxed, intimate, and so special.
We held our rehearsal in the barn, which was incredibly meaningful and set the tone for the weekend, and our ceremony took place in the most picturesque grove — it honestly felt like a dream. To top it all off, we hosted a beautiful outdoor brunch the morning after the wedding, which was the perfect way to soak in one last moment with our loved ones.
The entire weekend was unforgettable, and so much of that is thanks to Kristen and Trevor. Their care, attention to detail, and genuine passion for what they do made us feel completely supported and confident throughout the process. We are forever grateful and could not recommend this venue more highly.
truly could not say enough good things about our experience getting married at Farm 1849. The staff was warm, responsive, accommodating, and clearly experienced. Our guests were going on and on about the venue and the staff!
The property itself is beautiful, with lots of different areas that work for whatever your vision is. We had a welcome champagne toast on the barn's balcony and deck, we did our ceremony in a secluded grove with a canopy of trees surrounding us, we ate our dinner at one long 130 foot table just outside the barn during sunset, and had cocktail hour and the reception inside the beautifully restored barn.
The owners went above and beyond at every step, solving problems and enhancing everyones experience without putting any extra headaches on our plate. They drove older guests to our ceremony area (4 minute walk). They checked in with guests during the reception to see if they needed anything. They improvised and acted when little things weren't going exactly to plan with our other vendors (music not working, missing utensils, etc). They even handled a tricky situation when some of our guests missed one of our shuttles.
There is a lovely house on the property with lots of bedrooms, a hot tub, fire pits, a pool table, and more. It made everything so convenient before, during, and after the big day. There are also great hotels nearby in Elkhart Lake for your guests. Ours loved The Osthoff.

As the sun begins to set over the hilltop, transition to your cocktail hour in our Open-Air Courtyard or on the Two-Story Deck. Here, the stunning pergola offers the perfect balance of breeze and shade, allowing your guests to take in the panoramic views in style.
The celebration culminates inside our historic Red Barn. Whether you are hosting an intimate gathering in the Lower Barn Parlor or a grand reception for up to 299 guests in the Upper Barn Loft, you’ll be surrounded by the glow of authentic wood beams and family heritage. Kristen and Trevor Pachis, along with their two children, friends, and family, spent five years thoughtfully restoring the barn and surrounding outdoor spaces. Today, the property hosts weddings, yoga retreats, farm-to-table dinners, vintage markets, live music, and private events, all rooted in a love for gathering, celebration, and connection to the land.
Kristen brings experience in wedding and event planning, with a deep understanding of timelines, logistics, and the many moving parts that make a wedding day feel seamless. Her favorite part of hosting weddings is witnessing the joy and excitement unfold throughout the day—for each couple, their families, and their closest friends—as meaningful moments come to life in the space.
As hands-on, owner-operators, Kristen and Trevor work closely with every couple and their vendor team. They are available to answer questions, accommodate thoughtful requests, and ensure each vendor is familiar with the property so the day flows smoothly from start to finish. From early planning conversations to the final send-off, they take pride in being present, approachable, and supportive.
