Farmer Blue

As CEO, I head up Farmer Blue and our floral event design business. We are the only Low-Country luxury event studio who sources local seasonal flowers from our own 12-acre cut flower farm. In addition, we partner with other local and regional growers/farms to mentor, expand our bloom choice and extend our grow seasons. Founded in 2017 as a family business, we started with a passion for growing the highest quality of luxury event flowers using eco-friendly practices throughout our operation --- seed to vase! We share a belief that the luxury floristry industry is rooted in seasonality and our designs strive to use as many local flowers in our own work as possible. My background is 25+ years in the corporate world, having worked for large global brands as VP and Chief Commercial Officer roles at AT&T, Verizon, Comcast and Accelecom. As a result, delivering an exceptional customer experience is built into our DNA! Studying art & design, my first job was as a photographer until pursuing a degree in electrical engineering. Creating event florals now allows one to merge art with the science in terms of growing/harvest, designing and installing large floral implementations. Over 80% of the flowers used by florists in the Low Country are being imported from outside the US and their use of toxic chemicals during harvest and transport has impact on the environment, not to mention the carbon footprint from aviation emissions. We strive to use as many local seasonal blooms in our work as possible, using eco-friendly practices such as avoiding single-use plastic and non-biodegradable floral foam.
