– I was so frustrated that everything in bridal shops was like $4k and still polyester. Irina custom-made my dress out of the most gorgeous silk based on pictures of several different dresses, and it was still less expensive than dresses I was looking at in stores (plus you don’t have to pay for tailoring!). The construction required was complex, and she spent who knows how many hours getting the neckline exactly right without compromising a single aspect of the look I wanted. She was also so helpful in understanding how different decisions about strap placement, etc. would impact fit and comfort day-of. Her level of craftsmanship is SO stunning – lining up many layers of very fine silk perfectly is really difficult, and she executed beautifully. And her tailoring is the definition of skimming , not clinging – the fit she achieved is extremely flattering. Truly the best there is!

mplicated project. It only needed to be taken up in the front and I wanted to add lining in the bodice but the layers of silk, horsehair, and tulle all required hand sewing. Irina was meticulous in her assessment and pinning during the consultation, and I immediately felt comfortable trusting her with my dress. She kept me updated along the way with drawings and pictures of the work, and I went back for a second fitting. The amount of hand work she did to preserve the flower appliqué at the bottom of the dress and line the bodice with silk fabric (repurposed from the hemming) was incredibly impressive. Irina is master of her craft and my dress looked perfect. She also made me a veil which was great and very fairly priced and was super flexible on scheduling (offering week day and weekend times). I loved working with her!

I had a last-minute bridesmaid change and my cousin who lives overseas stepped in as my new bridesmaid. The catch was she didn't fly in until the day before the wedding. Irina is so smooth and seamless at what she does. She altered some of my clothes in the past before working on my wedding and rest assured I will be using her expert services in the future. Perhaps unusually, I didn't have a specific vision for the dress and had only tried on a few dresses at a wedding dress shop, but Irina took the little inspiration that I provided and created a stunning, elegant dress for my wedding day. The following review will demonstrates that Irina is: - A tremendously talented seamstress - An outside-the-box thinker - A creative problem solver - Willing to try crazy ideas - A quick worker - So very caring We got in touch with Irina after my initial fitting with another well known, Philly-based seamstress went poorly. (In fact, I was so scared my wedding dress wouldn’t work out, I impulse bought a back-up dress from a resale app.) I was already running very low on time. Irina was one of the few professionals in the DC area that returned my call, talked through my concerns on the phone, and brought me in very shortly afterwards. I read other reviews, so I had no doubt she was a talented dressmaker. What impressed me was our three-hour creative brainstorming session to solve my strap issue AND adjust the look so that it was EXACTLY what I wanted!! I’m a graphic designer by trade, and a very visual person, so I really wanted visuals. And I had many, many different ideas. While I stood there in the dress, Irina was cutting extra lace, folding, and pinning left and right so we could see an idea come to life in front of us. Then, god bless her, she would do that all over again for a completely different idea! And SHE had some of the best ideas!!! It’s always so lovely to encounter a true creative. On top off this she was kind, caring, and very quick!! She saw me three times (in the span of a month) to make sure I was completely happy. She EVEN altered my back-up dress (which I ended up loving so much I wore it for dancing). PLEASE go see Irina, I promise you’ll be who happy you did!!!

s perfectly - and gave me the most beautiful bustle. It was a hard dress to bustle and she made it simple and gorgeous. She also hand stitched a gorgeous pearl belt on it and then was able to make it so my long veil snapped to my train so it flowed beautifully behind me while I walked. I had no idea this was even possible! She also made me a blusher that I could use with or without my larger veil. It was the perfect addition to my ceremony and blended perfectly. Irina also made me a beautiful rehearsal dress - we were able to come up with the big bow design together - she made last minute alterations on it when I wanted something changed and worked with me the whole way. I first found Irina at one of her fashion shows and loved a dress I saw there but wanted a short version of it. She surprised me by letting me take that exact dress and totally remade it to a short a-line dress and then added the most beautiful details to turn it into my reception dress. It was just stunning - she knows how to find the best fabrics and walks you through the design process the entire time. Finally Irina helped my mom who was in a dress emergency and made her from scratch the most gorgeous mother of the bride dress with a removable over skirt. Her designs are fun - they’re unique - they’re everything you want in a designer. She has an eye for what works well and what will look special. I wish Irina could make all my dresses from now on!!! She truly is a master and an artist.
