We are so thrilled that we picked Father Steve for our wedding and that he agreed to be a part of it! We were recommended to look into him from one of our other wedding vendors, and we are so happy they lead us to him. Father Steve has a sense of humor that makes any wedding ceremony. We had a ton of comments from the guests on how the ceremony lasted a perfect amount of time, and how they thought Father Steve was a "hoot". Definitely recommend him to anyone!!
While planning our wedding, my parents insisted we have a Catholic priest marry my husband and I. We were leery about it at first (because we were not actively practicing), but Father Steve truly exceeded our expectations and really made us feel comfortable with the whole process. He gave us complete creative freedom in writing our ceremony, held our hands through the entire planning process, and was an absolute joy at the wedding itself. I couldn't have envisioned our wedding with anyone else. We highly recommend Fr. Steve!
I recently lost my husband and needed guidance and didn't know what to do or say at his memorial. I read all the great reviews for weddings that Father Stephen Prokop performed and so I got in touch with him to see whether or not he could bless and pray for husband at a graveside memorial. He said he could!! He came graciously over to my house to meet with family members and arrived on time for my husband's service May 28, 2022 which was a very busy Memorial Day weekend. His homily was beautiful, he blessed my husband's ashes and annoited him with holy water. We are not a church going family but my husband was Catholic and Father Stephen made all of us very comfortable with his words and prayers. I never would've made it through the service without Father Stephen's very kind words, his calm demeanor and beautiful service. Thank you Father Stephen. I hope we cross paths again at a happier occasion.
Father Steve was very accommodating with all that is going on! We postponed the big wedding, but had a small ceremony in our backyard on our original date. Father Steve really made the day AMAZING! Even though it was so small, we were both nervous. Father Steve made everything comfortable and brought his humor which is what we loved about him when we first met. HIGHLY recommend!!
Having Father Steve as our officiant was by far one of our favorite things about our wedding. His humor, compassion, and overall personality was a huge hit for all of our guests. I am usually a very anxious person and I never once felt uncomfortable during our ceremony. He uses the perfect mixture of humor and seriousness to make you feel at ease and to keep everyone entertained! We couldn't have asked for a better officiant. Sidenotes: We did marriage classes through him and they were wonderful. He also does bookbinding and created our own personalized ceremony book which we will cherish forever! We got married on Friday the 28th and already received our marriage license back in the mail. His communication, organization skills, and attention to detail really helped our wedding run smoothly.
Fr. Steve was a great addition to our wedding. My husband and I didn't want a full Catholic Ceremony, but Fr. Steve was the perfect touch to keep it appropriate with our faith. He is very serious when it comes to rehearsal time, but as he stated, "with all the weddings he does, being crummy is not an option." He has such a great sense of humor and I received countless remarks on how amazing the ceremony was, all thanks to Fr. If you are looking for a Catholic Priest outside of the church, Fr. Steve has got you covered!!
Father Steve was awesome. He officiated our wedding ceremony and we also attended his pre-marital counseling classes. The classes gave us a lot of useful stuff to talk about and tools to use once we tied the knot. There's also a discount on your marriage license if you do the classes - it's not enough to make the classes free, but it makes the classes a better deal.
For the ceremony itself, Father Steve was very flexible and helpful and extremely organized. He told us exactly what we needed to get to him and when, so that the entire thing would go smoothly. He gently but firmly insists on a rehearsal so that everyone knows where to walk, where to stand, and what to do. The actual text of the ceremony was up to us - he lends out wedding books that you can use to pick the passages and wording you want. We opted to buy a ceremony book from him, which contained the text of our wedding ceremony and which we used on the day of the wedding. Father Steve handmakes the books and they are gorgeous.
The day of the ceremony went perfectly - Father Steve adapted to our logistical changes and kept the ceremony short but beautiful and touching and at times funny. We recommend him extremely highly.
We wanted a Catholic wedding, but were having trouble finding an available church in the area, as my parish was booked until 2014 and others required you to join prior to considering marraige. we just did not want to wait that long to get married, and did not want to change parishes, so we planned an outdoor wedding. Fr. Steve was able to say a Catholic service for us in the location of our choosing. He was also able to provide us with the steps for obtaining the acknowledgement within the Church itself. I highly recommend him for others in a similar situation, or for those of you with an interfaith marraige who want to combine your faiths for a ceremony that is representative of you.
