From the very beginning, their band leader, Peter, went above and beyond. He worked closely with us to make sure we could request specific songs, helped the band learn new ones just for our wedding, and collaborated with me as the bride to create the most meaningful, unforgettable father–daughter dance. The band played first, and then my dad and I transitioned to the piano to sing and play together, a once-in-a-lifetime moment I will cherish forever. Peter made it seamless and truly special.
Every single musician was top-notch!! The horn section, singers, guitarists, bass players, drummers… all phenomenal. The horn section even joined us on the dance floor and played their instruments during cocktail hour to help gather everyone inside for the reception. They didn’t just play music, they created an experience. The sound was incredible, and they filled the room with energy, joy, and nonstop fun.
That’s how good Fatpocket is! My parents are already planning to bring them to Chicago for my sister’s weddings when it’s their turn.

From the oldies and wedding classics to some new fun and trending songs, they can do it all.
For any person looking to book a band in St. Louis or anywhere that FatPocket would travel to, this is the group you choose. Peter and the team were so easy to work with, on top of all day of details and getting the perfect vibe for our day. The only negative of having FatPocket for your wedding band is that you only get to do it once, we wish we could relive that night every day!

Peter and his team exceeded our expectations in every way, communicating clearly, seeking to understand our priorities, and even learning a few songs that mattered to us in the leadup to our big day. They coordinated all of the sound for our ceremony and toasts in an acoustically challenging space, and it was perfect!
Most importantly, they put on an amazing show that had people who usually never dance out on the floor all night long. Our photos are full of laughter and joy as a direct result of this band's performance. We didn't want the night to end, and a month later we continue to hear from guests that it was the best band they've ever seen at a wedding. They even gave us the setlist as a keepsake. They worked with us to only play the songs we loved, set the tone with our grand entrance, they learned our first dance and crushed it, dressed to the formal vibe, they used our specific Spotify playlist in between band breaks, and we were able to get on stage for Mr. Brightside. ew they could put on a show and bring a ton of energy to the night. When we were thinking about the wedding details, the first thing we both agreed on was that we needed FatPocket to perform and their availability helped us pick our exact wedding date!
They were incredible all night long, sang all of our first dances and were super accommodating in requests leading up to the big day. We've now seen them four times including our wedding and are trying to make it back to St. Louis to see them again (or crash a wedding they are going to perform at). By the end of the night they were more than just the band and seeing them show up in our photos, video and photobooth photos made us relive the night and it felt like we were there all over again.
If anyone is getting married and St. Louis in the foreseeable future (or getting engaged), my recommendation is to make sure FatPocket is available the night you want to get married because they truly made our night. If you can't tell we love them and still talk about what an impact they had on the memories we shared that night.

Peter is part of a great family, including his new son. His front office team and his partners on stage are an extension. Bottom line, they energized my daughter‘s wedding. Peter’s great-grandfather came to help with our World’s Fair in 1904 and his grandfather played in the symphony- look what the Schankman family has done for our region. Peter and his father, Steve-the “trumpet player” and philanthropist-continue their company, Contemporary Productions. We are so blessed to have one of the best bands in the USA right here in St. Louis. We also chose an eclectic grouping of Heritage songs-ranging from French, to Irish to Russian and German that they played during dinner and breaks. The dance floor was constantly packed, even my grandma was dancing in her seat. The members interact with guests and keep the energy up high. Each band member is extremely talented, high energy and go the extra mile with choreographed dances. When we had to move our wedding due to COVID, Peter was understanding and easy to work with.
