I had the pleasure of working with Fei for my wedding hair and makeup, which also included a trial 2 months before my wedding. I cannot say enough good things about her and her services! She is very professional, very talented, listened to what I wanted and respected my visions. She was great with my family on the wedding day, and made the whole day a lot less stressful. I can't wait to work with her again in the future and would recommend her to anyone who is in need of hair and makeup.

Fei and Yuki were absolutely amazing! Both of them were extremely professional and truly know their artistry. If you are looking for Korean/Chinese-style wedding makeup, Fei and her team are the best for this! She is a master in choosing the right makeup style based on an individual's facial characteristics, instead of applying a one-size-fits-all makeup look. It was also a bonus that Fei and Yuki both speak Cantonese, which makes my sister and my mother, who are from Hong Kong, feel very comfortable communicating their preferences. Fei and Yuki made our morning really relaxing, and all my family members really loved their hair and makeup.
It was raining really hard when we got to the wedding venue. But Fei still followed me around throughout the first look photo sessions and made sure that my makeup looked the best. Her professionalism is really impeccable.
For the reception, I wanted to change to a full French up-do look from a half-up and half-down hairstyle so that it would be easier for dancing. I only had about 20 minutes for the look change, but Fei was so efficient and confident that she managed to change my hair in less than 20 minutes. The whole hair and makeup lasted for the entire night, including the after-party!! I was really impressed by Fei's skills.
I highly recommend Fei if you are looking for someone who is truly professional, understands your needs, and is skilled at diverse, multicultural makeup and hairstyles. I am very grateful that Fei and her team made my wedding day stress-free and special!

etely understood the look I wanted and made me feel beautiful.
On the wedding day, she went above and beyond her role. Not only did she make sure my makeup was flawless, but she even helped me with my wedding dress when I was struggling. I had asked her to stay until our first dance, and she was by my side every step of the way, touching up my makeup whenever needed and offering constant support. Her dedication and attention to detail were incredible, far beyond what I ever expected from a makeup artist.
I absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone who truly knows what they’re doing and cares deeply about their clients. She genuinely saved me on my wedding day, and I can’t imagine anyone more talented or devoted. Thank you, Fei, for everything!

Our moms and bridesmaids were raving about Fei and her team, they absolutely loved their hair and make-up. She speaks Cantonese and Mandarin, in case any family members/moms feel more comfortable conversing in Chinese!
Fei was very responsive on email and was helpful in the pre-planning process. She provided skincare prep tips in the months leading up to the wedding which was not something most others provided. She really listened to what I wanted during the trial, and also listened to the feedback/changes I wanted to make for the wedding day. I was worried about hair holding up in the rain and make up holding up with my tears, but they both held up great (side note, it did rain and I did cry a ton lol).

I also have to say, my hair lasted the entire night despite all the jumping, dancing, and celebrating! And my makeup didn't smudge one bit!! I don't know what kind of magic she worked, but everything stayed flawless from start to finish. I couldn't have been happier with how it all turned out. owledge. While I booked her because of her work with Asian skin, I found that she really does work well with all skin types after following her on Instagram. She has videos talking about undertones and color correction, and as someone who doesn't wear make-up regularly, it was comforting to know that she takes so many details into account when curating your preferred make-up look. But, she also has an extensive team that caters to all skin types and color. So, when you book her or her team members, you can rest assured that you're taken care of. From the consultation to the wedding day, Fei was reassuring and answered all my questions with grace. I also loved that she gave skincare and haircare tips from the beginning!! Again, as someone who doesn't wear make-up, I was really worried about looking like I had too much make-up on, but she knew exactly what to do. I felt ethereal on my wedding day and that's what it's all about!! I also asked to change my hairstyle right before the wedding day, and she was like, "Yup, no problem!" We went back and forth discussing what we should do the morning of, and I loved what we ended up with. You won't regret going with Fei, she's great.

My makeup and hair stayed put and looked great throughout the night, even after hours of eating, chatting, and dancing. I also really appreciated how Fei and Magic hyped up my mom and my husband's mom while getting their hair/makeup done, as they were not used to getting glammed up. in both hair and makeup, so I want to highlight the things you can't see from pictures:
Fei is an amazing communicator -- she gives her opinions and takes feedback in a way that doesn't make you feel insecure about your looks and preferences. I had a bit of anxiety around not wanting to look like a different person on my wedding day, but Fei was able to help me look/feel like myself while still being beautifully elevated.
She also had techniques for all of my usual beauty issues -- in particular, I have fine hair & not much of it cut in layers (the enemy of most hairstyles) and my monolids always give me panda eyes within hours even with eye primer. But Fei managed to give me my exact inspiration picture hair and her eye makeup magic lasted all night!
Fei is well worth the investment -- her guidance and skill helped me feel confident both on the "one day" and in the "forever" pictures. Thank you, Fei!!

difficulty communicating with her at all. The stylist I was matched with was Yuki, who was AMAZING! She did hair and makeup for my mother, sister, friends, and I, and everyone loved her work. As someone who is Chinese, it was very important for me to have a stylist who knows how to work with Asian features, and Yuki delivered! She really enhanced my beauty while preserving my natural features - I did not feel overly made up or that I didn't look like myself, which was exactly what I requested. One of my friends is South Asian, and she was similarly impressed with Yuki's work and ability to work with different skin tones. Everyonoe throughout the night complimented my hair and makeup, and it held up beautifully through a fun night of dancing and jumping around. You can't go wrong working with Fei and Yuki! apprehensive. However, from the moment I met Fei and her assistant, I knew I was in expert hands. They were incredibly communicative and offered valuable tips and advice ahead of time.
During my session, Fei truly brought my vision to life. The makeup was not only stunning but also felt so comfortable on my skin that I hardly noticed it throughout the day. I felt so beautiful! Fei is a master at enhancing natural beauty. When my husband saw me for the first time on our wedding day, he shed a tear. It was the first time I had ever seen him cry.

Additionally, my wedding was held in my hometown over an hour away, so they needed to be able to travel. Not only did Fei Xu Beauty Studio display a breadth of experience and skill in all of my requirements, and were willing to travel, but they were frankly the ONLY makeup and hair artist team who I was confident had this variety of skill.
And needless to say, she and her team did amazingly! I and my bridesmaids all felt gorgeous and confident upon the completion of their work. I remember that before I showed my bridal party the makeup and hair artist I showed, quite a few of the girls messaged my privately that they were worried a makeup artist would not be able to effectively do their hair and makeup. However, after I told them I had decided to go with Fei Xu Beauty Studio, and sent them her extensive gallery, everyone was so excited! And for good reason.
I cannot stress enough how perfect Fei and her team are! I am so grateful to have hired them for my wedding. And they were super kind and personable, which is always a happy bonus.

experienced with East Asian skin and hair. I don’t wear makeup normally, and it’s not something I have a lot of expertise in, so I wanted to work with someone who knew what they were doing.
Fei was extremely responsive and communicative throughout the entire process. We quickly settled on a date for my hair and makeup trial, and Fei emailed me a questionnaire to understand what kind of look I was going for and give me customized skincare tips based on my existing routine. Though Fei herself was booked for my date, she set me up with Yuki (who did my hair+makeup and my mom and MIL) and Sherry (who did my 3 bridesmaids).
I met with Yuki for my trial about a month before the wedding, and we workshopped my whole look, trying different shades for eyeshadows and lip colors. She was very friendly and made the process completely unintimidating, even for a makeup newbie like me. We met at a nice, well-lit and clean salon space in Brookline, though she did offer to come to my place in Cambridge (I just did not have enough space at my home). I was impressed with what Yuki did with my hair; I didn’t have high hopes since my hair is a short pixie without much volume, but the final look surpassed my expectations.
On the wedding day, Yuki and Sherry came to the bridal suite on time (they traveled to my venue in Cambridge), and they stayed on schedule the whole morning. Yuki recreated my look from the trial efficiently and faithfully from the detailed pictures she took. Yuki even chatted with my mom in Chinese while doing her makeup, which helped reassure my mom and calm her jitters. I felt so beautiful and bridal! Even though I don’t normally wear makeup, I still felt like myself with the makeup on. They left us with some touch-up supplies for the rest of the day, but the makeup was so bulletproof that I didn’t feel a need to use them.
In summary, Fei Xu’s beauty team is organized and communicative, experts at what they do, and they truly made me feel confident and beautiful!

When it came to the in-person trial and day-of appointments, it was so easy to talk to Fei, too! She's very professional but also personable and funny, and she made both experiences genuinely enjoyable.
– Expertise: Fei has a great deal of expertise in her work. I requested a change in my hairstyle in between my trial and wedding day and Fei knew what I needed in order to make the look work (certain types of hair extensions, a bridal hair pin, etc.) She offered perspectives on what my options were and helped me make informed decisions.
– Hair: I got so many compliments on my hair and the style held through the full day. As mentioned above, I used hair extensions and they stayed in place through a ceremony, multi-hour photoshoot, and evening dinner and drinks.
– Make-Up: I loved the make-up look Fei developed for me. It felt like an elevated look to my features and usual look, and held well throughout the day. It photographed so well, too!

n unsuccessful trial with another artist, we realized we needed someone skilled in techniques that complement Asian features. We found Fei Xu's website, and though she was booked, two team members, Yuki and Priceless, were available. They created stunning, personalized looks for all of us, closely following our inspiration photos and feedback to ensure we were happy with the results. For my bridal hair, I changed my mind from the half-updo look I had done at the trial and opted instead for a vintage pin-curl style on the wedding day. Yuki used authentic pin-curl techniques to craft the old Hollywood look I envisioned—something other stylists had not been able to do with the same reference photos during previous trials. My makeup also held up beautifully through the entire day and night and remained beautiful and luminous even after getting sweaty on the dance floor! Overall, we were blown away by the skill of Fei's team and would highly recommend their services.

my emails and provided all the information I asked for to complete the reservation. We did a trial first and she was so patient to show me different styles before choosing one for my final look. On my wedding day, she was able to do my make up and hair perfectly like how we discussed. Everyone in my bridal party was so happy with the way their makeup and hair came out! In between the tea ceremony and dinner, I had went outside to take pictures and it was sunny and windy that day, and really glad I got the glam squad package because I really needed a touch up before dinner. Thank you so much for taking care of us! Overall, Fei was very accommodating and attentive to my needs, whilst being punctual and professional. most important thing to us were our photos that we can share with loved ones.
Fei made sure we looked camera ready - our hair and makeup were wonderfully done by her and she is also so friendly and made the experience enjoyable. My husband, who has never used makeup, was not used to someone being so close to his eyes, but Fei never missed and made him feel more at ease. He has unique features (i.e., deep-set eyes) and she was able to bring out his blue eyes often hidden by his dark circles.
I had quotes from other Asian makeup artists and Fei was by far the most reasonable and accommodating. Having been a bridesmaid for several friends, I have never seen a bride get a facial mask treatment the day of like Fei did for me. She truly made me feel relaxed and beautiful and all day, my husband kept praising how great the makeup looked.
I know her business will continue to flourish. Asian MUAs in the Northeast is a niche but important market and Fei's talents stand out. I must point out that she also has non-Asian clients, of course, and has editorial experience.
In summary, I highly recommend Fei! Please reach out to her; she is extremely responsive and detail oriented.
Note: As I've only received sneak peeks of the wedding photos, I have a few photos to show. The one eating cake was early morning and the second was at City Hall four hours after shooting outdoors in warm summer heat. My makeup and hair held up well and I did not touch up due to the tight schedule.

y pulled the trigger a month before the wedding day. Not only was Fei able to accommodate us on short notice (!!), but she was also extremely responsive to all questions and requests. It is clear that Fei’s years of experience helped her guide me in making the best decisions to elevate my natural features. Fei suggested a soft glam look instead of my original soft Korean makeup request to better flatter my tan Southeast Asian skin. I am glowing in our wedding photos instead of looking gray! Never once did I doubt her expertise! Fei spent almost 1.5 hours styling my hair into an intricate mermaid braid, which was the star of the day. I received so many compliments on both!
Priceless took care of my lovely wife and really drew attention to her eyes, giving her an elegant, timeless beauty. Many times during the evening, I was unable to look away from my wife :) Thank you again, Fei and Priceless. Truly, the best team we could have hoped for!
