They were wonderful! Very communicative throughout the planning process! I originally booked a strong duo for the prelude and ceremony, and they were able to accommodate some unusual music requests for specific songs. Near the last minute, I lost my reception musician and Fermata was able to provide a pianist to play during cocktail hour. All the music provided by Fermata was skillful and professional, and my guests greatly enjoyed it!

Using ceremony musicians was a pretty last minute decision for our wedding. Mitch was very informative and helpful via email and answered all the questions I had. To be honest, I barely heard them since it was for the ceremony and I was so full of adrenaline I was only focused on my groom, haha! However, we were told the musicians did a beautiful job. Only ‘negative’ if you can even consider it that was that they didn’t synch up with our coordinator for their cues as to when to prepare for my song down the aisle. Otherwise, they were on time and dressed appropriately and our guests loved them!

The string trio provided lovely music for the wedding ceremony and the DJ played great dance music!! It was a very fun party!

Fermata was the perfect addition to our special night! Mitch was amazing to work with and the band was reasonably price and everyone enjoyed the heck out of them! If you want an alternative to a typical DJ-style reception, look no further than Fermata!

If I could rate Fermata music higher than a 5, I most definitely would. Everything about Fermata music is top notch! From the beginning to the end, Mitch provides clients with outstanding customer service, speedy response to emails, and extreme professionalism. We had a solo violin for the ceremony and DJ for reception. I initially wanted a swing band, but due to our venue size and sound restrictions, Mitch gave us a few different options on what could work at our wedding venue. I changed my mind a dozen times and this never fazed Mitch at all. He never got frustrated, all he wanted was happy clients! I love that he took the time to call me and have an actual phone conversation, this helped so much as we had a very specific type of music we wanted. I was concerned about having a DJ as I generally think they are a bit cheesy, but our DJ was awesome and quite classy. Our violinist was amazing and everyone commented about how talented he was. I truly felt like the music set the tone for our wedding. Mitch understands customer service like no other; he made the planning process stress free and he never got annoyed when I made last minute changes. He is extremely prompt when replying to emails and phone calls as well. Hiring Fermata music was one of the best decisions we made vendor wise for our wedding and we recommend them a million times over!

Fermata Music provided a classical string trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They were perfect!! Not only were they extremely professional and talented musicians, they were able to compose a version of my favorite song (Pearl Jam's Black), which isn't a traditional wedding song by a long shot, and play it during the cocktail hour. My guests were thrilled and it really added a personal touch. I received quite a few compliments on the music after the wedding. Aside from the one song I requested, the musicians chose the music for the cocktail hour based on the feel of the room and it really worked. It was a huge relief for me too, I didn't have to pick the songs...one less thing to worry about. If I could change one thing about that night, I would have had them play throughout the night, not just through cocktail hour. I would highly recommend Fermata Music to any bride. Mitch was extremely easy to work with and I was confident that the music would be great and I didn't need to worry about a thing. I can't speak highly enough about my experience!!

I recently had my wedding and worked with Mitch to pull off the perfect musicial event. He is absolutely wonderful to work with. I decided last minute (literally, one week before) that I wanted a swing band ensemble for the dinner hour, and within three days, we booked one of the best bands in Columbus due to Mitch's help. Cannot say enough good things about this company. I got the company's name off online reviews and am so happy I did. They were awesome.

We hired Fermata Music to play the music during the ceremony. Mitch was wonderful. He was so helpful and asked questions and provided suggestions which was great since I didn't know what I was doing. He told us which songs we wanted would sound best with a stringed instrument as opposed to a brass one so we got the best sound possible. Everyone raved about how great the music was! I'm so glad we hired Fermata. Mitch put me at ease through the entire process.

Mitch at Fermata was absolutely wonderful! He was so easy to work with, answering my many (many, many) emails and questions promptly and knowledgeably. He helped us choose songs that were perfect for our reception, and he even let us pick a few custom songs (with a nominal fee for rehearsals and sheet music). Our piano player, Randy, was great! He's a talented musician, and our guests loved the elegant atmosphere that he created. Hands down, I would recommend going with Fermata over a traditional wedding DJ any day. Your guests will have an incredible time!

The staff at Fermata Music was incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we enjoyed working with them every step of the way. They contacted us early on, about midway, and often during the last couple of months before the wedding. The musicians that came out that day were very talented. I only had the chance to listen to them for a short time (walking down the aisle both ways, sand ceremony), but our guests were quick to compliment them. I wish I could have listened to them longer! We definitely recommend Fermata Music.

Throughout the process we worked with Mitch. He’s organized and is open to whatever music you would like to be played. The pianist was able to learn a song for our recessional, which was special to us! There were a few times Mitch was slow to respond but that could just be because it was around the holidays. The pianist, Dean, was great and the music sounded excellent.

Mitch was very flexible as I had changed my mind about what music I wanted a couple times. I ended up going through him for a string duo for the ceremony, jazz band w/vocals for part of the reception, then a sound attendant to play our ipod playlist the rest of the night. Everything was absolutely wonderful! The jazz band especially was fantastic - highly recommend if you like Frank Sinatra type music!! It was very classy and just set a good tone for the night. The band wore tuxes and had a old fashioned mic. Also very affordable in comparison to other bands I had looked into. Only downsides, he was a bit hard to get a hold of at times, but two weeks before the wedding he met with me for an hour and a half and went over every detail. I also wish I would have gotten a portable mic for the speeches at my wedding (the jazz band mic was not portable and hard to hear). Overall, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

In one word… Professional! The staff and musicians of Fermata Music are wonderful. Mitch was always available to discuss our needs and answer our questions. The string quartet that was hired was punctual, understanding, accommodating and sounded spectacular on our wedding day. My bride and I continue to get comments from our guess regarding how great the quartet sounded and how much they enjoyed the music during our ceremony and cocktail hour. We cannot recommend Fermata Music enough. You will not regret going with Fermata Music for your wedding or special event.

Our guests commented on how nice the violin and cello duo was at our wedding. The Fermata musicians were very professional, prompt and played all of the music that was specified. Very beautiful, and really added class to our wedding ceremony.

The music played at our wedding was absolutely beautiful. We had a cello and a violin playing and we received so many compliments on how wonderful they were. I was really nervous about the performance because we were not able to hear any music clips beforehand. I can honestly say the day of the wedding, I was not the least bit nervous about how things would go and it was dead on. Mitch was a little hard to get a hold of but the two weeks before the wedding he was really helpful and reassuring. I would definitely recommend Fermata!

I chose to work with Fermata Music after hearing them play at the bridal show at the Aladdin Shrine. I used the upright base & piano from Fermata Music and, although I wasn't able to hear them in action during the cocktail hour, I heard great things from my wedding guests about the quality of their music. They were really great to work with and it was convenient to plan everything via email.

We hired a violinist and celloist through Fermata Music, and they were wonderful! Mitch was wonderful to work with leading up to our wedding, and provided us with the most professional and wonderful musicians! The sounded amazing, and people absolutely loved it. I highly recommend Fermata for live ceremony musicians, you will not be disappointed.

I used Fermata Music for my ceremony music.They were very professional and the String Trio was amazing. They were very professional and the music was beautiful. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I 100% recommend them to anyone indeed of wedding music!!

Overall, I only heard good things from my guests about the duet that played. They were dressed well, and they played well from what I remember. My only complaint is that I specifically said absolutely no "Canon" and unfortunately, during the prelude, "Canon" was played. It was the one song that I heard during the prelude. It made me a little upset that my request wasn't taken seriously. It also frustrates me that sometimes I had to wait a month, or send the same email several times before I heard anything from Mitch. I got so many complements about the performance, so that makes me at least feel good about the money spent.

"When I contacted Fermata I knew exactly the songs I wanted in my wedding and the coordinator told me they would be able to do all of them. When we had to add the church organist, they said that it might cost extra to rehearse the cello and violin with her. So instead of playing my processional songs all together, it was recommended the organ play them alone. In the end, I felt disappointed the strings were not a part of this (Canon in D & Trumpet Voluntary) even if the organ would have drowned them out (because there were only 2 artists). I wouldn't have hired them if I knew the planning would cause them to miss playing those two songs. All in all, they played a 1/2 hour prelude, which sounded good, but I feel we paid too much." **In response to this review we received a very heartfelt apology from the coordinator and an offer to make right for the inconvenience and misunderstandings. This was truly appreciated.

Fermata Music was a joy to have involved in my wedding this past August. Mitch Matthews was professional and attentive to what I desired for music during my wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. He worked with the budget I had and came up with a perfect choice of musical ensembles. I had a classical pianist play during the ceremony and on through the cocktail hour. Then, for the reception I had the jazz trio play with Mitch as the vocalist. They really set the mood of the reception and we had so much fun. A live band at our reception made the party so special! I got tons of compliments during the reception from guests about the music and how wonderful the band was. I definitely recommend contacting Fermata Music for your wedding day music needs.

Fermata did such an amazing job at our wedding. We had the jazz trio for the first portion of the reception, then switched to a swing band for the remainder. We got so many compliments on the band: my uncle, who is a musician himself, said they were great and that it was the best wedding he's been to. Another friend thanked us for not having to hear Soulja Boy! It was really a special touch to have live music on our big day. Mitch was fantastic to work with; our phone conversations prior to the wedding were very informative, and he was flexible during the reception. He found me at several points during the reception to ask what I wanted to do next. It was so helpful because everything is such a whirlwind. I would DEFINITELY recommend them.

We used Fermata for our ceremony music, specifically the harp/violin duo, and were VERY pleased! They were able to create the exact ambiance that we were looking for for our wedding ceremony. I cannot say enough amazing things about Fermata Music. From the musicians, to the work behind the scenes with Mitch Matthews, nothing could have went more smoothly. Our Wedding was May 29, 2010 and it was actually 2 1/2 hours away from Columbus, where Fermata Music is based out of. But it was not a problem at all! Through emails and phone calls, we got to decide each and every portion of our ceremony music... right down to them revving it up a notch when I walked down the aisle (every Bride wants that, right?) :) Anyways, they knew the cues right on for certain changes or starts in music.. without us ever even having to chat with them or spend time that day worrying if they knew what to do... because they did! Other than the amazing sound and music, you would not have known they were there... and THAT is an excellent Wedding Vendor.. doing there job so well that you don't even stress one bit about them. I have raved about Fermata Music to all my girlfriends and since then a few more have booked with them! I even got to hear their amazing sounds this past weekend at my Best Friend's Wedding! If I could say one more thing about Fermata Music, it would be that the sound and quality you get with booking them is unlike any other... the music is straight out of a storybook scene or movie.. it is that perfect. I am so happy we chose Fermata Music for our Big Day last May... we still have people asking about them :)

My husband's cousin sang Ave Maria at the wedding and they arrived early so they could practice with the soloist and make sure they had the timing down. I used Fermata for my wedding May 28, 2011 at St. Joan of Arc church in Powell. We hired a string trio consisting of two violins and a cello. Everything was wonderful and I feel like I got a great deal. I called around town to compare prices last fall and Fermata was the most affordable I found. Mitch Matthew was my music coordinator and he was extremely professional to work with. He had them play all of the classical pieces I requested for the prelude and bridal party processional including Schubert's Ave Maria which I walked down the aisle to. He even arranged a version of the song Bittersweet Symphony for our recessional that was above and beyond. The music sounded great. The strings really enhanced our church ceremony over the traditional organ or piano only instruments. I would recommend using Fermata to anybody planning a wedding. I had a great experience!

We recently got married and Fermata handled all aspects of the music on our wedding day: a string quartet for the ceremony, jazz pianist for our cocktail and dinner hours, and the party band for the reception after dinner. I don't have too many complaints about my experience with Fermata Music...they could have stuck around so I could meet them after the wedding, and there were a couple of glitches like not starting when they needed to, but overall I wasn't disapointed.
