Fete Photography

Derek and Kristi are the best! They found the coolest spots for pictures, and did not make us do any of the cheesy poses! They are so sweet, it really felt like we were just hanging out with friends! We got a sneak peak of our pictures from last weekend, and I am DYING to see the rest. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous-- like straight out of a magazine. I would 100% recommend Fete Photography, they are absolutely awesome!!!

Fete was absolutely incredible! They were the most genuine people and made us feel so comfortable. Every part of working with them was just perfection!

Fete Photography went above and beyond our expectations! Our photos turned out awesome. They got the perfect mix of posed pics, pics of our venue, and candids. They were fun to work with too. They were very professional, helped us with staging our photos, and helped (sweetly) wrangle our large family into various pictures. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Derek and Kristi were great to work with! We choose them because of their more artistic photographs and beautiful lighting. They were so kind from the moment we arrived. Both made us feel very comfortable (even though we are not photo people). We felt like we were just spending time together and they happened to be there taking photos. They gave just enough instruction that we know we got great photos, but we still felt natural. Even the family portraits were comfortable and quick (thank goodness). Now we just can’t wait to see our photos!

We really enjoyed working with Derek and Kristi on our wedding day! They were professional, friendly, fun, and knew all of the best spots at our venue (The Farm, Asheville). It was great having two photographers, especially at the beginning of the day so Kristi could stay with me and my bridesmaids as we were getting ready and Derek could stay with the groom and groomsmen. They were super easy going and flexible to work with. They even sent us a few photos ahead of schedule, upon request, so we could use them on our thank you cards. We received the rest of our photos the other day and were blown away. Our wedding day was rainy and cloudy, but the photos have such a glow and warmth to them, they're so beautiful! They did a great job capturing our day and our guests and we highly recommend team Fete!

I can not say enough wonderful things about Fete! They were everything I wanted and more. Kristi and Derek were so professional and super nice. They captured everything I wanted from the ceremony to the reception and our portraits. Their use of color and angles is so different than your standard wedding photography... it will really make your pictures stand out. They somehow manage to get these amazing shots without disrupting any of the action. I have received numerous compliments on how great the photos turned out and a lot of guests even ended up sharing them on their own social media ;) You will not regret having them shoot your wedding. I promise.

Choosing a photographer was the most important decision for us when selecting vendors for our wedding. Derek & Kristi's photography was stunning, so the decision was easy. Our only concern was, because we live out of state, how easy or difficult it would be to connect and relate with our photographers or communicate about how our day would be captured. Derek & Kristi quelled this fear early on with a clear and open phone call, wherein we were able to discuss the venue, their familiarity with the space, and what we wanted from their services. D & K were very polite and were great listeners, and there was never a moment where we weren't sure if we made the right choice. They showed up on time on our wedding day, worked quickly and courteously, and were extremely reassuring as we awkwardly posed in front of strangers with cameras. In the end, the photographs were INCREDIBLE and we could not be happier for choosing Fête to capture our big day. Thank you for the beautiful photos, Derek & Kristi!

Picking a wedding photographer is such a personal decision. We couldn’t have made a better choice picking Derek and Kristi. They managed to photograph my daughter’s special day so beautifully it’s hard to find the words to describe. Not only did they capture the moments you would expect a photographer to capture, but they caught some of the most detailed, sweet, intimate moments between my daughter and her new husband so unexpectedly it took my breath away. They didn’t miss a thing and it was wonderful to see everything we had worked so hard to put together on film in such a beautiful way. We will cherish these photos forever! Your work is truly an art. Derek + Kristi were more than we could of imagined for photographers on our wedding day and the day before. They captured our engagements as well as our wedding day photos. They were accommodating to our ideas and super helpful with laying out the logistics of when would be the best time to photograph. They were punctual, very responsive and overall a blessing to have. Our day wouldn’t have felt as perfect without the two of them and we are so thankful for them more than they could ever know. We highly recommend Derek + Kristi not only to capture your day but be apart of making it everything you want it to be and more. They think of things you wouldn’t and get to work right when they walk in. They make being photographed natural and that you don’t have to try and feel something you don’t. Their kind hearts and true understanding of there craft really goes a long way in all the emotional moments that come with the wedding. It would be a disservice to your long lasting memories if you were to go with anyone else but Derek + Kristi. If we could give them 100 out of 10, we would.

We LOVED working with Derek and Kristi! They shot our engagement photos a year ago and just recently shot our wedding. Not only do they do an amazing job taking photos, but they are fun to work with! Never having done a "photoshoot" before were nervous about how to act, they were extremely patient and directive with us to ensure our pictures turned out awesome! Our engagement photos turned out better than we could have imagined and the "sneak peek" photos we have received from our wedding are fabulous! Every time we thought to ourselves, "That would be an awesome photo op," we would see Derek or Kristi snapping their camera. They seemed to capture every moment we want to remember for the rest of our lives. We would highly recommend Derek and Kristi!

Derek and Kristi were amazing to work with for our engagement shoot and wedding! Derek and Kristi were FANTASTIC to work with at our wedding in Weaverville, NC on 10/13. A friend of mine had used the Fete team last year, and highly recommended the duo. After we met through Facetime, I knew they would be awesome to have as part of our wedding team! Derek and Kristi divided and conquered, capturing images of both our families/friends/wedding party in an efficient, and creative way and tried to move everything according to schedule on the wedding day. My fiancé and I traveled from Boston, MA, to Asheville, NC, for our engagement shoot with Fete Photography. We are so thrilled that we did! We were extremely happy with how the photos turned out! The couple photos were beautiful and included both portraits as well as us with the awesome landscape of our wedding venue. We also loved all the candid photos from the reception and they seemed to get almost all of our guests (which our family and friends appreciated!) They were very easy to work with including making sure to get all the family photos. Highly recommended!!!

Kristi and Derek of Fete Photography were an absolute dream to work with for our fall wedding from start to finish. When we met them to discuss booking, they were extremely professional and had a beautiful album of a wedding they had done to show us an example of their work. We added an engagement shoot to our package in order to get comfortable with them prior to the wedding, which turned out amazing. They were extremely receptive when I emailed them to meet a week prior to the wedding to go over final details. On they day of the wedding, they completely blew me away with how hard-working they were! Everyone kept admiring how they were there for every moment. When we received our photo gallery I was stunned with how wonderful they turned out. They perfectly embodied the love that my husband and I have for each other in every picture. I cried going through the gallery because each image brought me back to our special day. They caught every single moment and in the most beautiful way. I would recommend Fete Photography to anyone who wants to preserve their wedding day in the most beautiful way.

We were referred to Fete by a photographer that we inquired with who was not available for our special day, and I am so glad that that we were blessed to have them capture our day. They are hands down the easiest, kindest, and most flexible individuals I had the experience of working with while planning the wedding. They have a calming presence to them that eases and dissipates the anxieties of the day. A funny memory from the day was when all of a sudden while taking a little break from pictures, I was craving chocolate and jokingly teased one of my friends about not having chocolate for me. Next thing I know, Kristi had run out to the car and brought me some Reese's peanut butter cups. It was a memorable and laughable moment. I love all my pictures and have no regrets. They are the best and you would not be disappointed to have them capture your most memorable day.

Derek and Kristi were so fabulous to work with!! They are fun to be around, creative, and they work so well together to capture the best photos! I was specifically looking for an amazing photographer that was very familiar with the Biltmore, and Derek and Kristi delivered that and more! When I saw the photos from our wedding, I was simply blown away by how fantastic they were. Fete Photography was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! I'm so thankful for them. They captured our June wedding at the NC Arboretum perfectly! I still can't believe our photos are us! Derek and Kristi are wonderful to be around and made us feel so comfortable. I honestly dreaded taking wedding photos until I met them - we ended up having a lot of fun and felt really comfortable! They are really great about taking plenty of pictures while also making you feel at ease - nothing felt posed. They took so many candid pictures and captured a lot of sweet moments that I didn't even know happened. On top of all of that, their pricing was better than other photographers in the area and their quality of work is far superior. We also received our pictures much quicker than expected. Fete Photography made me so glad we got married in North Carolina!

Joe and I both knew that we wanted a documentary-style photographer for our wedding. After looking through dozens of online portfolios of photographers in Charlotte and Asheville, which quite frankly, bored me, I was thrilled to wander onto the Fete site. I very specifically remembered the powerful emotional reaction that I had as I went through their blog and galleries. There was so much love! And not the cookie cutter love shots, but beautiful, sneaky, quiet love shots from all corners of the wedding day. I’m naturally a happy crier, and I absolutely dropped some tears by looking at other people’s photos….so I could only imagine what they could do with my own day. I have to admit, I was happily shocked that I could even afford them. I assumed that such beautiful artwork was out of our budget. Hallelujah , that was not the case. So, wedding day – they were quiet magicians. Apparently everywhere all the time. They were sweet and provided just enough direction to make sure they got the photos they knew we wanted, but then just …..captured. The online photo gallery was ready weeks sooner than we expected. And every album was more exciting than the previous. We just sat down, let the slide show run, and cried sentimental tears as we relived our beautiful day all over again. The photos are just stunning and they managed to help every single person glow in every photo. I can’t recommend them enough :)

Fete, by far, was the highlight vendor of our wedding! We planned our Savannah wedding from our home in Texas, which means we had to do a lot of research remotely and had limited opportunity to meet with vendors in person. From the moment we met Fete though, we knew they were the perfect fit for our wedding photography. Derek and Kristi were such a fun pair to work with and completely put us at ease when taking photos. Throughout the months leading up to our wedding, they asked follow up questions and scouted out photo locations to make sure we had everything we wanted from our wedding photos. They were also very accommodating when it came to setting up and working out a photography package that fit our needs. On the day of, we received many compliments from our guests commenting on how friendly and professional Derek and Kristi were. My (now) husband and I are both creatives, and having talented, creative and high quality photography for our wedding was very important to us. I have to say, the photos Fete captured were incredible. Great composition and lighting, and a creative eye. I feel like they really did capture "us" and all the events of the day. I would highly recommend Fete for anyone needing a photographer in the Asheville (and Savannah) area. We could not be more happy with our photos and with our choice of photographers!
